I’ve been seeing Doctor Shah for 5 years and love her. I find her to be gentle but still concerned and tells me the truth without sugar coating or using doctor’s only language. She is personable and shares her life experiences. My advice is that your attitude going in to the experience with her is going to set her attitude. My only complaint is that I cannot contact her directly but have to go through nursing staff to leave my messages and receive messages from her, but that is a Scripps issue not hers.

Dr. Shah has been my primary for 6 years. Always caring and attentive, I have nothing but pisitive things to say about her.

I did not find Dr. Biraj Shah to be very caring or compassionate. She refused to listen to my concerns regarding lab work and was very pompous in attitude. I found another doctor who was more skilled in patient communication and who respects the patients knowledge and experience with one’s own body and health — all characteristics Dr. Shah still needs to develop.

This Doctor is not worth seeing. Her progress notes act like she is mad. I talked to someone else that felt that she was condescending. She is from India so their culture and our culture clash. I was referred to her from Scripps Integrative Medicine and they said she was holistic. Not at all. She doesn’t know about certain conditions that even my GYN knows about. She is aureveydic but not holistic. If you go, you should be sure to read your progress notes. If you want to try and get a change to your progress notes or the diagnosis codes, you will go thru a very bureaucratic process to get it resolved.
