I have been training at Clark Gracie’s academy for two years now, and I can certainly state that I am addicted to jiujitsu because of the guys who train there. High level jiujitsu and technique are emphasized in lieu of using brute strength. The club has excellent amenities, adding to the comfort and cleanliness of the training.

I took one class here a couple years ago. Clark is a really nice guy. The training is good, and last I checked it was pretty much the only JJ school in La Jolla. I was actually a little intimidated by the larger gym which incompasses the JJ gym, because it was so nice!

Location is in a posh spot in LJ, but don’t let that you fool you. The jits is awesome. Everyone was really friendly which makes it a lot easier for guys like me that like to visit other gyms when they can.
Got to roll with Clark — amazing… Great experience and a great teacher! Go and check it out.

It is an honor to train under Clark Gracie… Technique that have been passed down from Grand Master Carlos Gracie to Master Carley Gracie and to Professor Clark Gracie. The very foundations of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu… the building blocks to all techniques past, present and future!

I’ve had the pleasure of training with Clark many times over the years and he always stands out as an extremely knowledgable, patient and thoughtful practitioner of the martial arts. His father and grandfather are both legends of the art of jiu-​jitsu and Clark is now carrying on the family tradition.
If you’re looking for an instructor who is just as good at teaching beginners as he is at defeating black belts in tournaments, then Clark is your man.

I highly recommend this academy whether you have prior experience, or have never stepped into a school. If you’ve been considering giving Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a shot, but are nervous about what you’ll encounter, this is a great place to start.
It’s a family type atmosphere, and Clark Gracie and his students are all very welcoming of new people. They’ll often go out of their way to make sure new students are comfortable and are learning the basics. In addition to kids classes, there are adults of all ages (male and female) and ability level. Some compete in tournaments, some don’t– it’s left completely up to the individual.
Just be prepared to get a great workout!

Clark gracie Academy is one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academies in the country. Clark is the grandson of Carlos Gracie, who created the fighting system called Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Both my kids have trained under Clark for a long time and both are World Champions. Clark takes personal time with each student. We love Clark and consider him part of our family. We highly endorse Clark. Give it a try.
