My long-​time stylist moved, so as any woman knows, I faced the scary task of finding someone else to do my hair. I get it all done: from cuts, color, highlights, bangs –so it’s finding someone versatile like that which can be tricky. So off to Unilocal I went and saw Jaclyn’s reviews so I made an appt. I have officially found my new long-​time stylist! She was great– super knowledgeable (like hair scientist status) — and the salon is too cute. Just had a great vibe all around and I couldn’t be happier with my hair. She’s someone who personally invests in her work and that is priceless. Speaking of prices, they were also totally fair (and in downtown La Jolla at that!)

I recently moved to La Jolla and had a large number of stylists to sift through (considering the area). I noticed Jaclyn’s Unilocal!reviews, left her a message, and she called back within the hour. She was very sympathetic to my cost concerns and provided the best options for my cut/​highlights/​touch-​ups. The end product was fabulous. Highly recommended. Plus, she’s a dog lover :-D

Awesome stylist!

I moved to San Diego about 5 years ago and was fortunate to find Jaclyn after having several stylists move out of the area or move to a new salon and sort of disappearing… I was starting to think it might be me. It was serendipitous then that I was scheduled with her after one such stylist moved.
Jaclyn is professional, smart, and, best of all, great at cutting and dying my hair. I always have fun sitting at talking with her for a couple hours, and I will continue to go to her even though I just moved about 15 miles north of La Jolla. My schedule is unpredictable at best, and she always works with me to move appointments if I need to. One time, she even met me at 7am, about which I still feel badly. Also, The Standard Salon is an airy, beautiful space.
I really like Jaclyn and highly recommend her. She is a fantastic stylist, and I am fortunate that I found her.

Jackie is an artist when it comes to hair! I’ve been going to her exclusively for the past several months, even following her as she transitioned to a new salon. I only wish that she would follow me when I move away from San Diego!
The best thing about Jackie is that she clearly makes an effort to develop a loyal clientele and has the talent/​skills to keep the same people coming back to her. I have thick hair that has a tendency to be unruly. But she always takes the time to listen to my hair concerns and honestly knows how to address them. Thanks to her, my hair is much more manageable, light, grows out nicely, and regularly complimented. I always walk around with an extra skip in my step after a haircut from Jackie.

I’ve been going to Jackie for a year and she’s awesome! Great colorist, and an expert stylist. She knew how to perfectly fixed a bad hair cut by just looking at me. Plus, she’s smart and easy to talk to. Finally, the salon she is at is really nice and comfortable, so it’s always a treat to get my hair cut and colored.

I have really enjoyed going to Jackie for more than 2 years now. I always get complements on my hair cuts and she does a great job troubleshooting my hair which is very thick and wavy/​curly underneath. Not easy! But Jackie gets it done. Thanks Jackie!
