A real man has a real hair cut. Natalie will make a real man out of you. Feeling great after a hair cut doesn’t happen much for me but now… every time. She knows her craft and enjoys her job. The time I spend with her is always a pleasure. You won’t regret it.

Natalie is Awesome! Unfortunately I don’t live nearby any more, but I make fairly regular trips to San Diego. When I do I always get my hair cut by Natalie. She always remembers my preferences perfectly, and pays so much attention to detail. I’m a live performer, and appearance is a big part of what I do, so I wouldn’t recommend Natalie this highly unless her work were impeccable.

Natalie is awesome. She gives wonderful haircuts and styles! I have gotten both haircuts and a style for a formal event that were given tons of compliments and I really love the looks. The relaxing atmosphere of her space in Sola Salons makes this a lovely hair experience and Id highly recommend It! Both my man and I have gone for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Since 2007, at least once a day I am complimented about my hair. Am I supermodel? No; Would my parents want some credit for their impeccable DNA? Maybe. What was so magical about that year? A mutual friend recommended going to Natalie. Ever since, she’s had the esteemed title of Trusted Curl Adviser. Natalie is empathetic to wavy/curly girls/guys who have been violated by those who don’t have curly hair and don’t understand HOW to cut it! I’ve been a regular for 8 yrs, relocating out of the area 2 yrs ago. I tried to find a stylist in my new home town, after two failed attempts I’m traveling 1200 miles to SD every few months to see Natalie-She’s THAT good. One example of her commitment to clients, was her helping me with the«salon speak» jargon after I got a botched cut earlier this year, and even offered to get on the phone with the out of town stylist to help navigate my mane =). How awesome is that? Natalie has been great at educating me about my hair and how to manage it’s unruly tendencies. And, holding me accountable when I am not maintaining my curl patterns. I LOVE that she is always on the lookout finding ecofriendly and paraben products. For all these reasons and more it has been worth staying in touch. I highly recommend Natalie especially if you have curly/wavy hair – she knows what’s best for the structure of your hair, she can give you an amazing look while keeping it manageable for your busy life.

When my hair stylist moved away last year, I was dreading having to find a new stylist that I could trust and was in my price range. Fortunately, I remembered my friend raving about how much she loved her stylist, Natalie, so I decided to give her a shot. Best decision ever! I’m no good at describing what I want when I get my hair cut, but she somehow knew just what to do to make my thick hair cute and stylish, but still fitting my low-maintenance requirement. It lasted me a long time(possibly longer than any cut I’ve had before), and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

If you have ever met me you would understand how much I pride myself on my looks, especially my hair. I started going to Natalie 3 years ago and have not looked back. She always knows the right look I need and will talk me out of the crazy things I want to do with my hair. Ditching the mall setting and moving to a personal caring cut was the best decision I have made.

Natalie is just what we all search for in a hair stylist; high end quality, reasonable prices and super friendly! She has been doing mine and my husband’s hair for about 6 years,(including for our wedding), and we’ve never been disappointed and I always feel safe trying a new style since I know she’ll make sure I look great! Scheduling is super flexible and parking is easy to find.

I left multiple messages and called at least 4 times without getting a return call or any response whatsoever. I was really looking forward to a quiet salon experience, especially since regular salons tend to be catty/gossip mills with lots of attitude. I ended up going to another salon after trying to get a hold of Natalie for over a week. The other salon was bearable but typical. I guess Minx doesn’t need new customers, I would still love to come in for a haircut!!!

I’ve been a client of Natalie’s for 4 years now. She never fails to give a nice haircut. I’ve referred several friends to her and they all have stuck by her too. When my mom comes to town from out of state, she always stops in for her color and cut and leaves very happy. Natalie is an efficient worker and will have you out of there looking beautiful in no time. She definitely keeps up with changing hairstyles and knows what is in and what is out, that’s the perk to having a hair dresser that loves her job! Her studio is so cute, welcoming and good music playing to create a relaxing environment while getting your hair done. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a reliable hair stylist that you can stick with for many years to come.

Natalie is the best stylist I have ever been to. She is incredibly professional and ‘in tune’ with her clients. I had a general idea of what I wanted and she filled in the blanks. My highlights are symmetrical and perfectly spaced. She cut my hair with incredible diligence and care. It turned out great; I absolutely love both the cut and color. I only got my hair done last week but I have already started recommending her to all my friends. She is very talented and deserves all praise given in these reviews.

I never really cared much about my hair(I shaved my head for like, six years). When I finally decided to grow it out, I didn’t really care about the style… until I went to Natalie. All I have to say is, wow, what a difference a good cut makes. I just love my hair now! She knew exactly what to give me, even though I didn’t know what I wanted. Natalie is just awesome.

I have really thick straight hair that can easily be blah, but Natalie makes it awesome. She does great things for my hair color too. I was tired of the ashy dark blond, so now it’s warmed up to a nice light brown. I always have a great experience getting my hair cut with her, super relaxing and it looks awesome after. We’ve been working on growing my hair out, and all the trims avoid that awkward«hair growing out» look. Another great thing is she takes into account what you’ll actually do with your hair. I’m a wash and wear kind of girl, so she doesn’t give me a cut that needs blow drying or a ton of product to look good. I usually pay around $ 100 for a cut and color, which isn’t cheap, but is certainly fair. Parking hasn’t been bad for me so far *crosses fingers*

Like many women, I’ve searched and searched and searched for a good stylist. It seems like just when you find one you like, you move or they move or they quit that salon and disappear off the earth/enter rehab/what have you. But I’ve since discovered my favorite stylist in the history of my stylists, Natalie DeMott. I first met her when she was working at the Aveda salon in La Jolla Village, and she was just the random stylist I booked the appointment with. I am SO glad I did. Four years later, when she left that salon to start her own studio, of course I followed and have since turned on more than one friend to her talents. Great things about Natalie: 1. She cuts fantastic hair, but men and women. I have naturally very wavy hair and she knows just how to handle that. My male friend has stick straight Asian hair and she knew just what to do with that texture, too, despite his convictions that«nothing can be done with it». He’s a regular client now, too. 2. She’s young in that way that’s fresh and she knows what looks modern and not some feathered shag travesty. 3. Her studio is a super-cute one-chair, so you get personal attention. It feels just like a larger salon, complete with small product shelves, cabinets for towels, sink, dryer, guest chair, etc. Just wee! She’s very sweet and will generally offer you a beverage or something. You get the full treatment, too… head massage, fabulous shampoo, and a really, really patient blow-dry, especially if you have tons of hair like I do. 4. She’s trained all over the place. I’m pretty sure she told me she trained with Aveda in both Italy and England, which I so envy! 5. She doesn’t talk too much. She talks just the right amount. Often, you want to chat to your stylist… and she will totally chat with you if that’s what you want, but you know how sometimes you just want to zone out? Or you have a lot on your mind and just don’t feel like talking, but the stylist yaps away anyway? Yeah, Natalie doesn’t do that. 6. She does color, too! GOOD color. I’ve got a huge silver streak near the front(don’t tell anyone!), so I color my hair my natural color so it’ll all match. She manages to mix just the right depth and tone and color to achieve such natural looking results. It looks like the hair I was born with. Downside: 1. Parking in Bird Rock sucks, but she’s worth it. For years she’s been giving me fantastic service and haircuts that garner lots of compliments, so I’m willing to share. :-) Go forth and get gorgeous.
