Needlepoint of La Jolla

Needlepoint of La Jolla is a great shop. Great yarns and interesting fibers to choose from, and lots of beautiful canvasses. Michelle and Bill are always very helpful, and it’s an added bonus that they always make me laugh! I’m always in a good mood after visiting Needlepoint of La Jolla.

Found this shop by accident and was so impressed by their stock and their friendliness. It was a pleasure dealing with them. From now on, I will be ordering from them and have them finish things I make. It will be worth it to me to ship things from Indiana to them and to never doubt that the pieces will be done properly!

I took my kid (she’s 15) into Needlepoint of La Jolla for some «friendship string» yesterday. We’re in town for a family reunion, and all the little ones flock around my big girl as the bracelet-​crafting master; doing this has become the activity of the summer for them.
I thought my kid would die of happiness. «I love your wall!» she sighed to Michelle — who, along with Bill, was nothing but warm and helpful to us both.
Lovely people, wonderful selection, calming little shop. This is how stores used to be when I was a kid: full of nice things made with care, and owned by people who knew what they were doing and loved doing it.

Let me start off by saying that I don’t do any needlework at all, but my wife does and I have been accompanying her on her thread buying expeditions since 2004. A thread buying expedition may sound like something trivial, but when she buys needlepoint threads in 167 colors, then it becomes something much more serious. Through the trips to Needlepoint of La Jolla in the last seven years we’ve gotten to know Michelle and Bill well and they are always helpful and efficient. Amazingly with a color palette of over 400 colors everything is always in stock and they have also dispensed much useful advice. It is a pleasure even for me as a non-​needlepointer to go there to chat with them and to learn more about the use of color which is of great interest to me as I am a photographer. It is a pleasure to support a family owned San Diego business which we can recommend very highly.

When not knitting or crocheting I needlepoint. I love Michelle and her husband. They are so nice and fun. Plus the selection of canvases are outstanding along with the variety of threads… color and fiber… are simply amazing.
