Larry is very nice and his wife recently reorganized the store due to another partner leaving November 1st. This has been one of the more organized antique shops and is really enjoyable to go to. The prices are fairly reasonable and the store has a beautiful flow to it now. I will definitely be back!

This is a great and huge store. You’ll find plenty of items for your collection or home décor. Do not come in and ask for deals, but you can ask for rock bottom prices or specials in the store. It’s just one of many antique spots in the area but one of the better ones for sure.

I’ve browsed through here a few times over the years and really enjoy the store. I applaud those that can go into an antique shop overflowing with merchandise and are able to zero in on pieces they want. Unfortunately I’m not one of them, so I appreciate that in this store, although there’s a lot to look at, spaces everything out nicely so it doesn’t become a visual overload. Employees always seem friendly in general, but the lady at the counter today was especially cordial, helpful, and personable. I’ll be honest and say I don’t know a whole lot about antiques so take the next statement with a grain of salt, but the prices never seem unreasonable. Many antique shops in general seem to ridiculously overprice their items and, although that might not be a deterrent for those with deep pockets, most of us would rather get a good item at a fair price. I haven’t made any huge purchases here, but I’ve been very satisfied with the ones I’ve made so far.

Jody helped me find some really cool figurines for my Mom’s birthday present — she seemed to know all about what I was looking for and gave me a great deal on them. Store was not packed to the gills as most antique stores are so it was easy to find what I was looking for. I would recommend anyone looking for cool, unique, antique items to visit this store. Thanks again and see you soon…

Out of all the antique stores in La Mesa, this is one of the best. The older gentlemen behind the counter is quirky and a good conversationalist. I came in with my husband and pug during a car show and surprisingly enough the store was dog friendly. My four legged fur baby was offered up some treats which her spoiled tendencies turned her nose to. What a brat. The inventory in the store is fantastic with such an eclectic mish-mash of belongings without the feeling of the space being over crowded. The furniture is excellent as well as the other odds and ends you find in places like these. The store somehow has avoided that signature old antique store smell. Nothing dusty or worn down, everything is well cared for and at a reasonable price that you could actually afford to take something home with you. I’d like to come back to find interesting pieces to furnish my 1924 home with. I’m still finding it rather entertaining with my new found love of this place considering as a kid my mom and aunt would drag me into an antique store marathon for hours and hours and I would be trapped with no escape. Now, I’m seeking them out. Funny how that changes.

yesterday was only the 2nd time i’ve ever been in la mesa. i went there several months ago to eat at gingham and i said to myself i said self! this place is cute! you need to come back here and walk around one day. so i made good on my word and moseyed on through yesterday! antiques at the village was the first place i went to and what a wonderful collection of treasures! i was very tempted to buy some delicate little trinkets but since i’m not working i refrained. but if you’re looking to furnish your house, obtain a beautiful tea set, bedazzle yourself with jewelry this place will not disappoint. and the people! good people work here. on my way out i noticed a DOGGIE! a cute doggie! queen of the town they say, Ms. Hannah a friendly little lethargic pooch if there ever was one. you are probably thinking a dog in an antique shop is a bad idea bahaha but she was so chill just laying on the ground with her big puppy dog eyes. Larry, the guy behind the glass cases and patron Vince were hanging out in the shop and made for some awesome conversation. both of them are very passionate about their little community and yeah no one in SD ever thinks, i feel like hanging out, i’m going to go to downtown la mesa. but it’s wonderful. the people here are wonderful and the hospitality and the eclectic and unique sales are epitomized with small town honest values here. oh and just a side note. while i moseying around i heard Larry greet a customer«hey [blah blah blah] long time no see! *sarcastic» i guess the guy got a quote from Larry on a piece, decided to shop around and came right back to him. so seems like his prices are reasonable if you’re ever looking to sell!
