I’ve been visiting the China Super Buffet for years now, even though I have moved out of the area. I now live about 30 minutes away but still make the trek every so often, almost completely for the all you can eat crab legs. YUM! This place has it all, sushi, a stir fry grill, Chinese favorites, a dessert bar and most importantly crab legs. To be honest, if you don’t like crab or they’re out of crab when you go(don’t worry that has never happened to me!) then this is a 2 star location. I really wouldn’t visit more than 1x a year or so, because everything else is not that great. My advice to the CSB is to hike up the prices a bit(15 $ buffet dinner is still cheap vs the current 12.99) and provide a higher quality of food. The rest of the food is good, but could definitely be better(less oily/less cheese/etc). A few fresh/healthy items other than the crab legs would be appreciated.

Decent to Horrible Customer Service. Food isn’t bad. The first lady who seated us didn’t understand too much english. Most of her words word«please», as she was seating us. The waitress who served us after wasn’t so bad; I tipped her. Now, when it came to pay, the asian man was on his phone as I was trying to split the bill. Dude, get off YOURPHONE and FOCUS on the customer; then get back to your conversation.

This is my go-to place but last experience wasn’t fun. Usually eat with my family 3 kids and its hard gettign them to sit for the entire meal. We came on a okay busy night, as we were leaving, i paid wiht my card but was going to leave a cash tip. WHen the waitress took the paper seeing 0 as the tip she started getting mad cursing in her language. RIght as i was going to pull the 20 bucks out and she picks up plates and is slamming them, so i tucked it back away in my wallet. Good food just piss poor service. Would think cash tips are better then electronic tips as they don’t get taxed… if you don’t care for service then this is the place but waitresses are rude and well ungrateful

I went there last night with friends for my birthday dinner. It was my first time there and I was impressed with the décor, and cleanliness… and the food presentation. It wasn’t greasy and most of the food was quite good. I won’t give it 5 stars for 3 reasons: 1. the crab legs were way too SMALL at least for the hour we were there w/so little meat in the tiny legs that it wasn’t worth bothering with… it’s a shame to kill crabs that little as we get nothing from them… and they definitely DIDNOT look big like in this picture below!, 2. the prime rib roast was overcooked and dry, and 3. they use too much msg as I had serious bloating and water retention today from it. My only other comment is they should have someone on the floor that speaks English as well.

The food is cold and not good. They do have a large selection of food, but meh. The place is big, lots of seating. The waitress was timid but nice and kept the refills coming and cleared our plates. But we won’t be back.

Oh the food is excellent and the service is great but biscuit there early on Sunday could get really crowded do you have to wait a while but the buffets are like eight different but for you to go to and the delicious Louisville incredibly delicious got clean bathrooms on the back it’s a Ford forgot drinks and is like two more others was in Chula Vista any of the ones on somewhere else but I highly recommend anybody want to go there it’s in the Von shopping center in La Mesa right across the parking lot from it we take the seven bus there

I have to say, this place rocks! For a self-service restaurant, this place has staffs that are friendly beyond my expectation. I always come here for crawfish, crab legs and frog legs and have never been let down. The food, despite being a little inconsistently good, is still decent for its price. I can taste the sweetness of the crab meat, the smell of crawfish every time I am here. All trays are frequently monitored(I suppose) and refilled just a couple minutes after being empty. It’s never a pain to keep eating seafood, like I do. This has become my default place for buffet. My friends and I love going here! A little note on the side though: this place uses MSG heavily. If you eat frogs, you can literally see the MSG coating. The food, especially seafood, is tasty, but sometimes a little salty.

This place smells like $%^#! Realllllly ruined the experience, not that I expected anything 5 star… but still its a food place. I’ve been to similar chinese buffets like this and they are much cleaner. The dining room in this place is just disgustingly cheap.

Low Price. $ 12.99 per person. $ 1.50 fountain drinks. I never ever expect much from asian buffets. There is a good selection of seafood. Good selection of other random asian dishes. They had old bananas laying out that were nearly all brown which was funny. Soft serve ice cream was good. Service was okay. Overall, just another slumpy old chinese buffet with okay food.

It’s a typical chinese buffet. I dont know if it’s just me but all chinese buffets I’ve gone to always give me that dingy, unclean feel. Doesn’t exactly stop me from eating at them though. I like that this place has snow crab legs for dinner. That’s always a plus.

I’ve been here a couple times and the selection are your typical Chinese American food. Selection is ok but I’ve had better. Seems like they use a lot of msg on some items so i stay away from those items. Love the veggies and fish selection though…

The most convenient Chinese buffet in town for me. Many variety of food along with a chocolate fountain that they keep high and away from the kids. Great location and it’s never crowded.

There’s no buffet that I’ve really experienced to be «GREAT» so this is on my list as alright. I can’t say I’ve tried better but, for the Sunday dinner price, it’s affordable. They do have a variety of Chinese and America food, so it’s fulfilling when you’re get there on an empty stomach. It wasn’t to crowed when we got there but all of a sudden every family showed up which made it near impossible to get back to our table with the tables being literally an elbow from another party. I would still return as their variety of food is better then some buffets I’ve been to.

Great option for Chinese buffet if the are! Tons of option but I really like the noodles that are linguini like. Egg drop was good and the gyoza too. Frog legs for the adventure folks and calamari was great ! Lots of people and they always busy but wait staffs are always nice

This place is really nice(way better than the El Cajon location) Dinner is $ 12.99 and was worth it. Stuffed our faces with sushi and deliciousness lol. Only downside is the walkway between tables is a bit tight and I ran into a few people a couple of times.

I so wanted to give them 4 stars because they had crayfish but they really are barely a three star place. First, the pros: You can’t beat $ 12.99 for a Sunday night buffet dinner. There’s a lot of choices too in this buffet, more than in other Chinese buffets I’ve been to. Their seafood selection can’t be beat. There’s a good selection of desserts as well. And again, there’s crawfish! Then the cons: The main dining room stinks. It smells old and moldy and kind of bathroom-y. The tables and booths are clean but the carpet seems like it’s never been cleaned since it opened. You’ll get used to the smell, as one does, but it really is very off-putting. The quality of the food is also very hit and miss. You really do get what you pay for. The crab legs were great, the meat was firm, juicy and sweet(no need for butter). The crawfish was so-so. Very flavorful but some turned mealy from being kept heated for so long(but I’d return for them when I get a hankering for crawfish). In all, their seafood was the best of what I tried. The salmon was good, so were the mussels, fried shrimp and scallops. It was everything else that was meh. The hot and sour soup lacked flavor. It had a bit if heat and it wasn’t lacking in ingredients but not even soy sauce could save it taste wise. The roast beef had a very weird texture, almost like it was done sous vide before roasting. It felt boiled and over-cooked but tender at the same time. Tender verging on mushy. It didn’t have a lot of flavor and the gravy was tasteless. I took one bite and gave up. I hate wasting food but I couldn’t force myself to eat it. I liked the vegetarian mushroom dish but that’s really simple and hard to eff up. The kung pao chicken was nothing special and the French style beef was anything but! First off, it was sweet! And the flavor profile is vaguely Chinese. I don’t know what’s French about it but the name. I did like the lobster roll, it reminded me of home. One of the few bright spots there food wise. Careful though as they can be dripping with grease. I had to roll one up in napkins to get rid of as much oil as I could. As far as desserts go, you can’t go wrong with the fresh fruit. I didn’t see a chocolate fountain but I think there’s was a container full of melted chocolate that you can dip the fruit in. Didn’t try it, you’ve tried one chocolate fountain, you’ve tried them all. The pudding with icing was okay. The candied peanuts were not to my taste. They put some spices in them and the taste kinda threw me off. I always like fried doughnuts and theirs are passable, just too chewy for my taste. No one goes to a cheap Chinese buffet expecting gourmet. This is so not gourmet but I would have appreciated if the food was better tasting. A lot lacked flavor and too many of the meats became mealy(probably because they cook big batches in the morning and just kept them permanently warm throughout the day). The wait staff assigned to our section was nice and efficient though. She was quick to ask if we wanted refills and also cleared our plates promptly. It was the lady out front who took care of listing everyone down that was a bit brusque but she did try to be efficient as well. The guy in charge of the till wasn’t very friendly as well but gave a surprised smile when I thanked him. Maybe they’re just not used to friendly patrons? To sum up, you can’t beat the price for the selection but you definitely can find better quality Chinese buffets.

I wasn’t greeted upon entering. Whatever, I don’t care about you either female. Big variety of old food. They have signs that prevent lunch guests from eating the dinner items or they will be charged. Why are there even dinner items during lunch?! They should be fresh for dinner. This was stupid. This coconut-ty fried shrimp was really good but then it had parts that weren’t edible because they were so chewy. Their fried rice is ok, not really that great. Some items are pretty good but nothing is incredible enough to finish or go for seconds. The sushi is always my favorite but I wouldn’t even go back for that. That’s saying something cause I’m not picky. Their chocolate fountain is pretty cool though. How often do you suppose they clean it? I had to ask for refills. Had to ask for my bill. It was NOTBUSY. Why is the bill in Chinese and not translated a little bit? Of course, when I had to pay up front, all of her attention was on me. No surprise. Money hungry. They say, don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it? I will not be returning here.

This place makes me question if the employees care about their patrons at all for several reasons. We If you don’t mind eating lots of weird tendons in the chicken dishes, come here. If you don’t mind chunky instant coffee thrown in a cup with hot water that tastes too horrible to drink, come here. If you don’t mind being brought a coke you never ordered and paying extra for it because the servers don’t speak English, come here. If you don’t mind not really knowing what you’re being charged for since the bill just has numbers on it, come here.

I come here off and on solely because they have boiled snow crab with lots of meat and its delicious. They occasionally have good sushi depending on the time of day you go. It does get really crowded and loud here but i dont mind. Customer service here is non existent. It wasnt always like that, the waiters used to actually speak to us. The food is decent, the price is decent. I give it 3 stars for being decent.

I’ve been here many times and this review will be a summation of all my experiences here. Theres plenty of seating and trust me these seats do get filled on a regular basis. It usually gets crowded on weekends and much more accessible during the week. The servers don’t speak much english and don’t care too much for customer service as well. That would have to be my only complaint for this resturant, but hey, it’s a buffet. You don’t go to a buffet to expect excellent customer service. If you’re into seafood, this is the place for you. They have some of the best sushi I have tasted at a buffet. Please see pictures for examples of the sushi. They serve snow crab and craw fish and they cycle all the food frequently so you’re not eating lunch’s crab at dinner time. Dinner is 14.99 which i would consider reasonable for all you can eat crab. They have a good variety of food, and unlike most buffets where there are only a few items, almost everything is worth eating here!!!
