My family has been coming in here off and on over the years. My youngest even chose this as the place she wanted to have our family dinner at after her 8th grade graduation. The service, food, and atmosphere have always been wonderful. If you become a regular they remember you and that’s always enjoyable. I hadn’t been in here for quite a while when my friend suggested coming in for lunch one day when we were over at Thrift Korral next door. They have great lunch specials. We enjoyed our meal so much we’ve been back twice since and it has always been a good experience. We usually get the bento box which runs about $ 8 – 9 and it is excellent. One time I got a dim sum combination to try out and loved it. Everytime I go to this little shopping center the smells coming out of the restaurant are delectable. I can highly recommended it!

The food is amazing and the staff is very polite and professional. We were very satisfied with choosing this restaurant to visit for our weekly date night. We WILL be returning.

I love coming to this place. Customer service is great. Their food is made fresh and is hot when it comes out. The quality of the food is good. The entire time our table is being checked on by our server that asks is there anything that we need. To top it off the prices are not bad at all. I went on Wednesday afternoon. I also got same service on a Friday evening.

I came here because of its title I figured it would be an interesting Asian fusion. I also love Thai food and enjoy and an occasional Boba tea. Well to start of the establishment was clean which is always the first thing I look at. The staff was nice, always a good thing, but they ran out of Boba Oh well, it wasn’t the main reason I came so not a big deal. I ordered the combination A. meal with Sesame Chicken and the Thai Spicy Egg Noodle soup for myself. The soup was pretty tasty lots of veggies I liked that. They separated the noodles from my soup in the to go containers so that the noodles don’t turn mushy :) I also tried a bite out of the Sesame Chicken not bad, it was lightly breaded and not tough so I was pleased with this also. The main reason I liked this place is the variety, it will definitely be on my list for the times we can’t agree on a place to eat.

Just went to this restaurant with my family for some yummy Chinese food. They literally never came back to the table after seating us, a party of 5. No water, no drinks, nothing. We walked out 10 minutes later and no one stopped us on our way out. I’ll never waste my time going here again. I’d give it a zero but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

Great place — lots of choices. It gets slow when its busy, but if you go in on a weeknight, you will get some great food!

Been there twice. We have ordered only the Chinese menu. I did love the dim sum and the chow mein with shrimp and husband likes his spicy eggplant dish too. Not bad at all.

A mixture of different types of Asian Cuisine; Chinese, Japanese and Thai. New to the area, Tupac and I wanted Asian Food so here we are. First off let me start by saying that after looking at the décor and the people who works at Chopsticks Inn, I knew that I should order a Chinese dish. I ordered the egg drop soup that was tasty. Also, I wanted the fried pork chops with peking sauce on the side but unfortunately the server said that they could not do that. I told her that all I wanted was fried pork chops with no sauce so she asked if I wanted like Salt & Pepper style she will make that for me. YAY! I’m happy that she did. The pork chops was delicious and I really enjoyed the flavor. The only thing that I would recommend is to have it deep fried or a fried crust. It was actually soft and tender which is also fine but I preferred a little crispy texture. Overall, I would definitely return here to try the other dishes. Not sure if I’d actually order the Thai and Japanese dishes.

NOT a fan at all! First, I hate when people frown their face at my order. I ordered a tea, not a hot tea, not an iced tea, just a tea which Americans don’t see to know what that is. For the record, it is brewed tea that is not pure over ice. How hard it that? So he brings me a piping hot tea in a regular glass. What a clown! Then I ask for the sesame chicken and extra, extra spicy. I thought as this place also sells Thai food, they would understand what spicy means. NOPE! Ketchup would have been spicer than this food! The food was ok, the portions were just ok, but the service was horrible. I won’t be back!

Food was fine, or ok. Old school. Felt like I had stepped back into the late 80s. Mu Shoo was good, everything else, meh. There were four of us. I think we got here at a bad time. Service was really, really, really slow. Dinner was an hour and a half. That’s not what we were looking for. They seemed nice enough, but have no system. Not happening. We just moved out here from Uni/Normal Heights and are searching for easy, good, clean food for our pretty regualar chinese night. We’re going to have to keep looking. Missing our old standby, City Dragon, which was fast, clean, tasty food. Ah, the suburbs. Adjusting. If anyone knows good Chinese in La Mesa, let me know. I hate writing negative views, but I just want folks who might be accustomed higher standards to know. You want that really old style, kinda greasy, asian variety, this is your place.

Green curry with mock chicken and **brown rice*** Very delicious and filling. Sour soup and crunchy stuff before the meal was good too. Definitely feels like some redesigning is needed, but the food quality is at par with every other thai restaurant. Friendly hostess/waitress!

This place rocks! They have vegetarian options which is amazing. I had the mock kung pao chicken. It was fantastic. The rice was fluffy and delicious. The service was excellent.

I’m very confused by the good reviews this place has. Perhaps we went on an off day or maybe they aren’t eager to impress a carry out order. We picked up orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, vegetable and shrimp tempura, and pot stickers. The shrimp was pungent and had a strong fishy aftertaste. I normally love shrimp tempura but the meat was dense and too firm, bordering on hard. I didn’t finish it. The vegetable tempura was okay. The tempura wasn’t oily but it’s texture was rather tough, making me think it was old. The pot stickers were a mixed experience. The meat was juicy and the flavor was good but the pinch in the seal around the meat was hard as a rock and clearly not freshly cooked. The orange chicken was… weird. The presentation was wonderful; it had orange slices on the side and the meat looked full, with lovely color. It was, however, off-puttingly sweet and had a bad aftertaste that I can only describe as reminiscent of cleaning chemicals. Maybe the fresh oranges for presentation just mixed badly with the overpowering cloying sweet taste and that made me think of the harsh orange scented cleaners I use in the kitchen. The teriyaki chicken was honestly hard to taste after the orange chicken. Very salty by contrast and the portion was much smaller than the orange chicken but the meat was tender and at least didn’t taste old. I keep reading about chocolate dipped fortune cookies and am so disappointed. Not only were my fortune cookies not chocolate dipped, they were so old that they tasted like the paper they were wrapped around. We didn’t finish even a fourth of our meal and the amount that we did eat was only because we were famished. Will not EVER return.

Now, I give this place 5 stars for it’s variety and also being vegetarian friendly. Oh! Before I forget the food is yummy as well. Also, if your vegetarian the mock beef and chicken is devilishly divine!

I don’t understand why this place has bad reviews. I go here pretty often and I am never disappointed. The orange chicken is really good and the sizzling fish plate is to DIE for! The staff is super friendly and I love that it’s a small family owned business. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that it is a little on the pricey side. I recommend going in during lunch because they have great, well priced lunch specials!

We were hesitant because of all the low opinions about service but chanced it anyway because it was close to home and food ratings were good… we were not disappointed a bit! Service was excellent and beyond any special attention I have ever received in any oriental restaurant. Mu Shu Pork was wrapped for us table-side! The most tender pork and perfect sized morsels I have ever had. The soups… how do you choose? Who has 12 soups to select from? The Tom Yum is now our favorite in all of San Diego replacing our previous favorite spot just for this soup. We had also ordered carry out prior to our visit… my husband was back in 20 minutes! More delicious than the mouthwatering photos from the online menu, have you seen the website menu??? Perhaps our American culture needs reminding that small family run businesses able to provide quality food have difficulty managing staff for unexpected busy times like the big box conglomerates do. Be kind, relax, enjoy every morsel prepared for your pleasure. We will!

Being an occational customer of this restaurant myself and two friends went in last night It was busy most tables were taken we finally were greeted after 5 to 10 minutes of standing at the front door by the big huge sign stating wait to be seated. One of the women waitresses came up to us and said how many we said three and she said I’ll be just a moment she was very polite. Five minutes later, one of the other waiters came and asked the same thing, how many for dinner once again we said three because we were the only one’s standing there. I have to admit it’s been a long time since I was treated with so much rudeness and disrespect at a restaurant. I was merely in shock, he said it will be at least 20 to 30 minutes. You could see three or four tables were ready to leave. There was an empty table right next to us that held five or six people we asked if we could sit there. he said nope! That is for more people, you don’t have enough. Being there before we knew they had a back room and you could see it, we asked about it and they said all the small tables are full. They were NOT. Just because of his disrespectful us to as we said no we won’t wait will go elsewhere. There are plenty of good Chinese places in La Mesa. We also wondered what happened to the old Saying. bird in hand is worth two in the bush? we were prepared to sit down and have beers and sake, appetizers, and have dinner so we were prepared to drop $ 80– $ 100 no problem… I am posting this note, just to let everyone be aware, you may be treated in a way your not used to, especially from a Asian cuisine.

This place is rather unique because they serve a variety of Asian Cuisine, not that there is anything wrong with that, but my meal did leave with the feeling that perhaps they should narrow the menu somewhat. I did notice more Chinese items on the menu, but I want for the Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken at a mild spice level reasonably priced at $ 8.25 and included a small bowl of fried wonton strips and a cup of egg drop soup. The crispy wontons strips were great( ) and were even better when I put some in the egg drop soup( ). The soup was excellent and filled with barley cooked egg and some crispy scallions. The soup was thick and flavorful. The Pad Thai Noodles was a large portion of noodles with modest amount of chicken( ). Everything was cooked well, from the tender noodles, al dente vegetables, and tender chicken( ), but the dish as a whole, need more seasoning or more aggressive sauce, so added some soy sauce of all things, and that made it much better. Overall the food was a three star event given the lack of flavor the noddles had, but the lady who served me was great. She was very hospitable and accommodating, so I added an extra half a star for the service. I like good friendly service…3.5…
