My absolute favorite. I almost cried when I when by and they are not there anymore… they sold the spot.

Really great food! But their delivery time is 90 mins — not great. It’s in the good court, but don’t judge it! Medium spicy tastes like no spice, so if you like spice, ask for it.

My husband and I came here last night. I was hankering for Indian food and had no desire to drive to Miramar after a very long day. Since it was late, there wasn’t a whole lot to pick from, but I tried the vindaloo and the Mira-something or other. The rice was a bit overdone, and the vindaloo sauce was not my favorite, but the Mira-something or other was great. I just can’t remember what it was called… thus the renaming. The chicken in both dishes was tender and cooked just right. The naan didn’t taste like authentic naan, but it got the job done, and it’s a food court… so it’s not going to be a 5 star experience. The people there were super friendly, and it was so nice to have a comforting, warm meal at the end of the day. I will be back to satisfy my Indian food cravings when I’m in a pinch. And i’m happy to have a decent curry option close by. But San Diego… we’re failing in the Indian curry department. We need to have more joints in east county. COMEON. We’ve got plenty of great taco shops… let’s get some Indian food up in here.

Whatever you do, DON’T ORDERFORDELIVERY! We’ve had the food here once before and it’s delicious, I’ll give them that. That’s THE only reason I’m giving them 2 stars. Expected delivery time was between 45 – 60 minutes. It’s a Monday night, kids are hungry and after an hour and 15 minutes we contacted Eat 24 to tell them we were still waiting for our food. They contacted the place and they said they’d be 10 minutes. 30 minutes later we get a call from the driver, who can’t for the life of him, find us even though he claimed he knew where we were. 30 minutes after that(2 hours and 15 mins after we ordered) we call the driver and he says he needs 30 more minutes to find us!!! Needless to say we cancelled and opted to order Domino’s. It’s a shame because we really did enjoy their food when we ate at their establishment. Will never order delivery from them again.

So, I am really upset at this place. There was a time about an hour ago that I used to crave pizza, bbq, and chicken wings. Now that they delivered to my house some of the best food in town, I am trying to figure out how to get another job to offset buying Indian food each night. The flavors were amazing. Great garlic naan… big chunks of garlic on the bread FTW. I wouldn’t say their entrees were cheap, but hey, buying good food costs money. Congrats to a place that is located in a food court and delivers!!! My wife said«you know, it is funny that they are in a food court because I would never go there… so glad you found this place and they deliver!» I agree… in an age where it is easier to press order on my Papa John’s app than finding HBO on my DirecTv, having this place deliver to my house is amazing. I hope they have continued success. Their food is simply awesome.

Unfortunately, the food here was pathetically bland. The taste wasn’t bad… it just barely had any flavor. We tried their Chicken makhani, sag, and Chana. All were flavorless Indian good should be packed with flavor. This may be an ok starter restaurant for those who are not adventuresome. Anyone who rates this good higher than two stars does not eat Indian food much.

Ok so this is literally the closest Indian place to my house which is depressing. But the food itself isn’t all that bad. It’s decent enough. But I would really enjoy it more if they added more spice to their food or at least have chill pepper on the side to spice it up a bit. The workers were nice tho.

Love this place! You can get your Indian Food fix without breaking the bank. They are located in the Food court inside Grossmont mall. If you ask for the food in a to go container they will give you more. The lady that works there is quiet and not the friendliest. But the food is always delicious! I always feel good after I eat there. If you are unsure what kind of food you like there, you can ask for a small sample.

I have been here a couple times before and had the lunch combo. Today I placed a takeout order through Eat24 for chicken makhani. While it wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked, not too many places are. The chicken was very tender and the tomato sauce was rich and creamy as expected. It was ready when I got there and still very hot when I got home. This is one of my favorite dishes and I eat it at least once a week from somewhere. I’d definitely order from here again.

This Indian Express is located on the Grossmont Mall Food Court in La Mesa. I came in for an early dinner and ordered their Combo # lunch special which consisted of two curries, rice, and two slice of naan bread for $ 6.95. For my curries, I choose the Vindaloo with chicken and Makhani with chicken as well. I also order one vegetarian Samosa for $ 1.89. Both, the Vindaloo and Makhani were good( ). The chicken in both was a tad over done with a few pieces being a little rubbery. The sauces were good, but the Vindaloo did not have the heat as I was told it would. I liked the Makhani’s sauce much better given its flavor was more well developed( ). The rice was okay, a little on the sticky side and it had a mild flavor of the Far East( ). I did not care for the vegetarian Samosa for two reasons. First, the exterior was soft and not crunchy, as if it sat under the warmer to long( ), and the inside was discolored and did not taste very good( ). Honestly, it tasted old and bland. On a good note, and the reason I did not give them two stars, was that they happily exchanged the samosa for some more butter naan bread which made up the samosa( ). The bread was good and had a light buttery spread. Naan bread always…

I love this little place. The people are always friendly and the food is always good. I normally order the Creamy Tikka Masala? I think thats what its called. It’s declicious and they are very generous with their portions. They tend to give enough to share. Many times I have gone there and the Naan bread is not ready and you have to wait for it, but aside from that I really like this place. My only issue is that it is in a food court. I would much rather it be at a strip mall, or have it’s own little restaurant that you can dine in at. The Grossmont food court is not very well kept, so it leaves a better environment to be desired.

For a mall food court, this place is great. I love the meat dishes and bread. Never had the vegetarian dishes. Reasonable prices. If you just want a taste of Indian food without the sit down and prices of a restaurant, this is a good place.

I went here tonight after reading reviews. I had a 2 item combo. Curried Chicken & Vindaloo. The Vindaloo was OK, but the chicken was a bit dry. The Curried Chicken tasted OK, but like an earlier reviewer, it was nearly all knuckle & boney pieces. I left virtually all of that item. The plate comes with Naan. They were surprised when they opened the serving container that there was none left. I was told it will just be a moment. I was halfway through the meal when it arrived. The Naan was crisp, not like any other Naan I had eaten. The owner was busy playing on his phone in the back. Someone earlier had mentioned that something had changed. I believe that this place used to be owned & run by people from India, but the owner or Manager is Asian, and definitely not Indian. Maybe that is what changed. I won’t be going back.

The raita is made from mayo. The veggie curry tastes like a bowl of heavy cream. The vindaloo is tomato sauce with dry chicken. No nuance, no indian spice. It’s the whitest Indian food I have ever had. Awful, overpriced, not worth eating.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had in a mall! I loved the Sag Aloo. The iced Chai tea was good. The naan was a little dry, but it was still good. The staff were really nice — full of smiles.

A huge shout-out to the people at India Express! I was at the mall tonight with hubby and I noted to the kind gentleman begin the counter that I was bummed he didn’t have sag paneer(spinach w/homemade cheese cubes). He offered to MAKEIT special! It was seriously the best I’ve ever had! If you’re at the mall, and hungry-check it out Honorable mention for the chicken vindaloo and mango lassi too!

A++ in my book. CHEAP. DELICIOUS NOTHEAVY like a burger or pizza would be oh and CHEAP hahaha. I got chicken makhani it is so so delicious and creamy as well as the sag aloo which is one of my favorite dishes ever. The employees are polite and ask if yoou need anything and they neatly wrapped everything up and put sauce in my rice without me even asking. i thought it was so great for the price, time and location.

–DELICIOUS. –They have a couple of non-spicy choices. –Not cheap. But I’d rather pay for this than any kind of Panda Express or pizza or Mexican. –Located inside Grossmont Shoping Center Food Court.
