Have been going to this taco shop since childhood. Very good portions and quality food. Location is a little sketchy, but other than that, this is a great place to snag a cali burrito

Live in the neighborhood. Food is always good and ingredients(beans, tortillas, rice etc) are all high quality. They even have a drive thru! Friendly people inside as well. Unfortunately some of the customers are ridiculous… some welfare queen came in tonight and complained that the last time she was in(2 weeks ago) they messed up her order and she admitted to throwing the receipt away and not taking the food back to get it remade… the next customer wanted to charge $ 7 to one card and $ 3 to the next. So if you can deal with that kind is crap everything else is great!

This place was actually pretty decent! Yhe prices aren’t too expensive, burrito was good, customer service was okay and the hot sauce was good. I would come back again if I was in the neighborhood.

My neighborhood taco shop and it is soooo good! Only two tips I would give are watch out for when the high school lets out and ENJOY! My go to spot for dinner when I don’t want to cook. I really like the California burritos, huge bean and cheese burritos and carne asada fries. Everything made fresh to order… so good!

Tried this place for the first time today. Moved to the area back in August but was hesitant to try it due to a few bad reviews. We actually enjoyed the food from here. It’s cheap and good. Being only less than a 2 min walk from home I will definitely be going back.

My husband and I have been going here for years. They have the best breakfast burrito out of all the places we’ve been to. It’s always the first place we stop to every time we return to San Diego.

delicious food and friendly people!!! My family eats here once or twice a week. We can recommend the potato tacos, breakfast burrito, chilaquiles, ceviche, shrimp diabla, and california burrito. New cooks there … they do a good job!

I just moved to the area within the year and this is the closest Mexican food place to me. I have high standards for mexican food as a San Diego native and this place is hit or miss. The rolled tacos are not special but their fish tacos are superb. The breakfast burritos are well priced but have beans as a filler and I don’t like beans as a filler. Their guacamole is not thick you can tell its watered down especially when you order it on the side. I did recently try their potato tacos however and I enjoyed them thoroughly. The carnitas and carne Asada can be either juicy or dry on any given day. By any means avoid their shredded chicken, biggest disappointment ever. I’d stick with fish and potato tacos. Three stars for friendly staff, excellent fish + potato tacos, and yummy horchata! I recommend having an open salsa bar for dining in which is one huge common-place thing Nacho’s seems to lack. They also have churros which have a weird liquidy-caramel center, but for a 1 $ are very good!

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would do so. They have very bad problem with flies and uncleanliness. They need to keep the doors closed and monitor their food a little closer to ensure that what happened to me today does not ever happen again. After almost finishing my shrimp burrito, I encountered a very strange object in my last bite. It was a burnt fly!!! So gross!!! I almost ate it!!! And when I mentioned it to the store manager she said they didn’t have a problem with bugs… Really?! Avoid Nachos at all cost!

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more stars. Everything I’ve had here has been good if not great. I recommend the Carne asada fries… it has all the good stuff plus nacho cheese!

Great rolled tacos and burritos. They need to give you more guacamole and salsa, and less lettuce. But tasty food none the less. Okay service.

I’ve been going here for 10+ years. Their breakfast burrito and carne asada fries are amazing!!! Customer service could be a little better but all in all, I love this place.

It’s changed ownership a few times but the food is good(and prices) seem to stay consistent. Always fast service anytime I go and that’s a plus because I always take the food to go

This place is my go-to for Nachos. If you like your mexican food with REAL nacho cheese; the liquid, runny type. I highly recommend this place. It’s not like gas station cheese or anything, it’s legit. I have only and always have ordered their Carne Asada Chips. Have never tried anything, BUT that. I don’t think anything else could be good. Too scared to try. Rating break down/Tips: Food(Carne Asada Chips): 5⁄5 Feeds like 3 people. Very proportionate. No stale chips or disgustingly chewy meat. They should also get a fountain drink machine, they currently sell by the can. Perhaps a salsa/carrots bar so we wouldn’t have to bug them so often for everything. Service: 4⁄5 A tiny language barrier, but they know the words they should know for their business. Never got any attitude from them. Nice people. As with ANY food server, you get on their good side. all is well. You give them crap, they’ll serve exactly that to you. Restaurant design/spacing: 2⁄5 Too small. I’ve actually had to wait for a table to sit before, could use some modern designing. Perhaps some booths, expand the dining room a bit. A proper roof over the patio area VS the park-style table with an umbrella. Then again, it’s La Mesa. Experience: 3⁄5 A little sketchy walking in at first, looks really ghetto along with the rest of the strip of La Mesa. Not too inviting. Once you get past that, good service and great food(at least my orders) takes over and I feel it’s worth my money. I lurve mah cheese.
