I’ve come here for several massages with Jody Welch, and have left satisfied every time! I prefer deep tissue massage, which she does well, and she always asks & listens to the client’s needs. She’s professional and makes you feel comfortable, and has some of the best, most affordable massage rates I’ve ever found, too (if you do the pre-​pay deal). I definitely recommend Jody Welch at Pacific Coast Day Spa!

I found Jody through a groupon about 3 years ago and I don’t go anywhere else now. She is such a great massage therapist. I am old and I’m a passionate gardener and traveler so I end up sore from pulled muscles, falling asleep on planes, carrying things too heavy for me… all sorts of stupidity. However whenever I need her she can always squeeze me in within a day or two and make the pain go away! She does use hot rocks sometimes which is so relaxing. She is able to work deep in the areas that are in pain but when you walk out you feel so much better and the next day you feel like a new person.

This experience was a disaster! I bought an Amazon Local voucher for a 75 minute massage. It was fairly difficult to contact the massage therapist and set up my appointment time. This took multiple phone calls and my appointment time had to be far in advance. I showed up on the agreed upon date and time five minutes early. After waiting 25 minutes and making repeated text and phone calls to her I finally left. I had spent 8 hours that day cleaning and scrubbing my house and had planned and looked forward to the massage. I was VERY sore! In spent two days making phone calls and texts to her to reschedule, and she never even called me back! I would NEVER use this business! Thank goodness Amazon Local gave me a refund.

Bought a package of 3 60 minute massages using a Groupon to try Jody out. The massages all were okay but I definitely wouldn’t pay beyond the Groupon price. My experience was similar to Tina C’s. Also each 60 minute massage here is really 50 – 55 minutes. I felt like the minute when Jody would hear the door, she rushed through the massage. She was nice enough but the overall expereince wasn’t good enough to have me become a regular.

Randomly found her on Groupon and thought I would try out the three 60 min sessions for $ 99 because she was located down the street from my house. Went today for my 2^nd massage and it was better than the first!
Jody is kind and listens to what you need. Before you begin, she asks what areas you would like worked on and during the massage checks to see how the blanket & room temperature is and how you like the pressure she is using is. Everyone likes different pressure, so I appreciate that she asks.
During my 1^st massage, I identified that my major area was my back and did feel she didn’t spend as much time as I like on my back. So this morning, I just made sure to communicate my desires and asked to skip my arms and use that time on my back and she did just that. She used hot stones on my back and really dug into my knots and I left feeling wonderful!
I can book my appointments using Jody’s online calendar and it’s super simple.
I am thrilled to have found Jody in my neighborhood and will continue to purchase the 3 deal Groupon as long as she offers them. I even purchased a package for my Mom and 1 friend has already bought a session as well.
Go see Jody at Pacific Coast Day Spa and just make sure to communicate your needs and you will leave fully satisfied.

This massage was just okay. I purchased the 90 minute Groupon massage, and I am glad I only paid the Groupon price. Jody is a very nice lady, so that was welcoming.
As for the massage: I was cold almost the entire time; every where else I’ve gone, most massage therapists will place a warm compress over your feet or back before massaging those areas. Jody just used a Very rough warm towel after she was done massaging.
She also struggled with blanket positioning. For example, when massaging the back of my leg, my whole left side was left uncovered and cold. Another couple of examples– after pulling the blankets back over me, she would not check to make sure everything was covered. One of my feet was only covered by the sheet, while everything else was covered by the blanket. It was distracting! Last example — she would uncover the limb she was going to work on, and then she would walk away from the table for a minute or two to get her lotions. She’d be gone so long, I’d end up peeking out from the towel she put over my eyes to see what she was doing.
Perhaps most upsettingly, I told her I was having issues with stress and knots in my back. She didn’t even work on it!!! She did a few hot stone passes over my back (which was nice because I was so cold), but those weren’t in line with the direction of the muscle fibers, and therefore didn’t do anything for real muscle relaxation. I thought maybe we had run out of time, and that’s why she didn’t work on my back as I had asked. But…
She ended 5 minutes early. :(I guess the Groupon is only for an 85 minute massage (and minus the 1 – 2 minutes of break time she took before each limb). Jody was very nice, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend her to you if you want a great massage.

Got this spa off of Living Social (Amazon) for a 75min massage for myself (can only buy one) and a gifted massage for my husband. When I first saw the building I didn’t get the warm and fuzzy; but looks can be deceiving. My husband is very hard to please and he said“one of the best massages I’ve ever had” …I will be getting mine later. The only down side is Jody is the only one that does the coupon massages so I couldn’t do the massage with my husband. Other than that it was cool.

Jodi is amazing! I originally found her with a groupon deal when she was at her previous location. I returned because she actually listened to my needs to get pain relief. I get A LOT of massages and she is really amazing. I love firm pressure and she always makes sure it is just right. The hot stones are a plus too:) I like the new location it has plenty of parking and the massage room is comfortable and more spacious. An upgrade from the past location.

I have read the comments and have to say I love Jodi! She does amazing work! The way the building looks has nothing to do with the quality of her work! In the world of do-​it yourselfers I love the personal touches she has done with her new place. Don’t let one bad review turn you away! She is amazing

Jody is absolutely amazing. I’ve had two massages from her so far, and they have been some of the best massages I’ve ever had. She’s really observant and was able to find exactly where my problem areas were, I felt completely refreshed each time I left her. Would highly recommend. :)

This business had recently changed locations so I can only review the new location which seems to be an apartment building that was turned into an office building. If I wasn’t as badly in need of a massage or if I hadn’t already pre-​paid for mine (Groupon) I wouldn’t have even gone in. Similar to the other businesses in the small building, the «sign» to the spa was homemade and tied onto a rail with string so you can see it from the outside. I may not have taken note of this as much as I had knowing that this is their new location and it could have been a temporary sign however, the business next door and around the building had make-​shift signs as well… And the one they had up was pretty sad looking (you can see it in the picture). The door itself (on the second floor, no elevators btw) had a security gate on it. When I opened the gate the door was shut so, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to walk in or knock. Thankfully the inside of the place was much more inviting and nice. The interior looked much more kept and professional than the exterior so, I decided to go ahead with my appointment. The person/​owner who did the massage was very nice. She seemed to care and ask questions like massage therapists should. She was very kind and friendly. The strange thing about my massage is that it seemed very generic. Nothing «special» or above and beyond what an average person would do in my opinion except for the length of time that it was (who in your family gives you a 75 minute massage?). Additionally, when I flipped over for her to massage my back it was almost entirely one-​handed. It made me suspect she was texting r answering emails on her phone with the other hand. I don’t get massages often but I have never had a one-​hand massage with random pausing here and there. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe her hundreds of groupons that she sold jaded her. Maybe a one-​handed back massage is a new fad. Whatever the case, I left with much to be desired.

I don’t know when she was there, I have been there every week since Jody has moved in.
The waiting room, lobby, is well furnished. She even has an ongoing video display of all the different types of massages.

Massage therapy is a very personal choice and the therapist and client need to bond.
Apparently, there was no bonding and probably best that she try to find someone that better matches her personality!

I love this place! It’s for sure going to be my go to massage therapist! Jody is so sweet and makes me feel welcomed! I love how she just listens and works her magic! Will be going back next week! And even every month just to ease the stress! Will recommend this place to anyone!

Pacific Coast Day Spa was a real treat. I enjoyed the hot rock massage immensely and felt extremely relaxed. I love professional foot massages because they make me feel good all over. Jody did not dissapoint. Unfortunately for me, I have issues with stairs and there are a lot of them in this nice old repurposed house.

I had an excellent experience here. It is very rare that I am so relaxed during a massage that I fall asleep but that happened here! Jody was very patient and thorough. She went through my history and got my trouble spots. She did AMAZING work on my shoulders and neck area. The hand and foot massage felt very good. She uses the hot rocks and that really relaxed my muscles so she could work on back. She is worth every penny! I wish I could go there every week.
