Rebecca and Anthea are the best instructors. They are both focused on your goals and sensitive to any limitations you may have. I’ve taken group reformer classes before but until I had a chance to have private training I don’t think I was getting maximum results. Private lessons have helped me discover how my body should move, which muscles should be working(and normally with pilates it seems like every last one). and the importance of core strength. I have always struggled with a bad foot and hesitant to start any workout programs because I usually end up hurting myself in the process. Even though I’m still in pain I’ve been able to gain strength and flexibility without making my injury worse. It’s amazing just to be able to say I’m able to see results! Tuesday and Saturday mat classes also help round out my routine.

I have been taking classes from Rebecca off and on when I have the $. She is so knowledgeable and so detailed. You will learn so much about your body after spending time in mat classes or on the reformer. Your body will also start to change and will stop hurting in certain areas because you will learn how to keep good posture and have a stronger core. She has helped me strengthen my core muscles around my lower back — which allowed me to start taking dance classes again(couldn’t do ballet for over 10 years). Anthea is a great instructor too. If you want the best of the best, sign up for classes with Rebecca. You will not regret it.

I am writing this on my husband’s Unilocal account– I moved back to San Diego several months ago and began looking for a good pilates studio. I ended up finding a fabulous one. I have taken classes with both Anthea and Rebecca and they are both wonderful to learn from and pay a great attention to detail. If you have ever gone to a pilates class and not felt like you are getting a work out then you don’t have good instructors. They have flexible hours and are always ensuring you get a good workout.

I was so out of shape & hurt all over when I met Rebecca! Words do not describe her care & attention to detail. I never hurt after Pilates here! Not once! I have tried many«mill» studio’s but nothing will ever compare to Rebecca’s teaching. My goal for next year is to get certified in Mat. Rebecca showed me hope & inspiration. One great thing is …“There is no blasting music”… I was taught that my breath is music enough. I cant focus on what I am doing & listen to music at the same time!

This is an update since I’m now working with Yuan — she is a fabulous instructor!!! My workouts continue to get more and more challenging even though I’ve been doing pilates at this studio for over a year now. Each time I see her, we do a complete body workout, and every time it’s a little different so I don’t get bored. If you’ve never done pilates, you seriously owe it to yourself to try it; it’s unlike any other workout and it’s so much more interesting than going to a gym or doing plain cardio. I find pilates find it more interesting and challenging than yoga. I’ve also worked with Anthea(see previous reviews) who’s also fabulous(but on temporary leave).
