My bf wanted to eat here for the super breakfast burrito. We walked in and I had a few questions about the menu. To be specific, two questions. The woman was so rude I walked out. Of course I said thank you for her time, which to no surprise was met with no response. Will never go back.

Love that they have a drive thru. All the food we tried was good the building is bright on the outside and the staff was friendly that I encountered.

Towards the south end of La Mesa off University is where you’ll find this yellow building with green trim. This taco shop seems to be a neighborhood favorite because I’ve always seen a long line coming out of the drive through while passing this place no matter the time of day. Some reviewers have stated this place is no longer open 24 hours but now is open 6AM — 2AM, which seems weird to close the place for just four hours. They have a large parking lot, inside seating and a convenient drive through to get your food to go. The inside of the place was surprisingly rather clean compared to what you see on the outside. This place features a simple menu containing all day breakfast burritos, combo plates, specials and the other usual items. In bold letters on every menu, you’ll notice their cardinal rule of «No Substitutions on anything» which is basically a policy for additional fees required for altering stuff. The prices at Oscar’s are pretty average with most burritos in the neighborhood of 5 to 7 dollars and combo plates up to 9 dollars. Any extras to your food will set you back a whole 90 cents though. They have a salsa bar inside for dine in customers that features a red sauce, a green sauce, hot carrots and pickled onions & jalapenos. There are bags to the right if you wish to take some veggies home but hot sauce to go is kept behind the counter. The lady running the place at the time was friendly and seriously patient. She was running the entire place by herself with a huge line of drive thru customers and inside ones. It’s never too late for breakfast for me, a steak & egg burrito sounded good, it’s just too bad I had to have to them add potatoes to it for extra. Their burritos( ) here aren’t exactly huge but not small either, they use great tasting tortillas for them though. My steak & egg burrito( ) came with lots of carne asada, scrambled eggs, beans and crunchy French fries. The carne asada here was just okay; they could have cooked it a bit longer but it was seasoned well. The beans were a letdown, they seemed to be a bit dried out for me. At least they got the ratios right with plenty of egg and steak. Their rolled taco orders come in either 3 or 5 here, they have several options depending on how much stuff you want on top. The everything option which includes guac, sour cream, lettuce, tomato and cheese will set you back $ 4.50 and they had no options for chicken. The beef tacos( ) were on the smaller side but had great tasting shredded beef inside them, they could have filled them more though. The toppings department was amazing, they piled the stuff high! If you order the everything option, you definitely get your money’s worth. The guacamole used here is the real stuff, just avocado and seasoning none of the runny green stuff. A order of 3 mini tacos( ) costs $ 5.00 and comes with one choice of two small corn tortillas, one choice of meat, guac and onions. Even though they were«mini» tacos, they added lots of flavorful pollo asado to them, which made it worth the price. The hot sauce they provide here is rather decent and is on the spicer side. Both sauces were the watery kind but still provided lots of flavorful to add to your food. The green sauce was a bit milder in my opinion. Even though they keep it behind the counter, they aren’t cheap with it because the lady dumped a whole bunch in my bag without even asking. Super Oscar’s actually surprised me compared to a bunch of the reviews I had read here, I was frankly expecting way worse. They aren’t going to be top of the list by any means, but they their food isn’t bad and the prices are decent for what you get. Service was quick and on point, no screws up in my order at all. The late hours and drive thru make it a place you’d rather hit up at night than those shady little shacks on the side of the road when nothing else is open. They have credit card limitations here, but only if your order is under 4 dollars.

The sign says«Open 24 hrs.» Apparently not the case. I pulled up at 2:30am and sat at the speaker box for about five minutes before pulling up and seeing that the lights were off and there was nobody inside. So they lost the chance of having a new customer. Bummer.

The worst costumer service from the lady at drive through. Its not just one experience its all the time i come here she always gives shi##y costumer service. The reason why i keep coming back here its just because its the only taco shop with drive through by the area i live on. :/And im hungry thats why. But she is so inpatient, rude, and screams while taking order like trying to rush u and they REALLYNEEDTOGETANOTHERCASHIERFORTHISTACOSHOPASAP. SOMAD!!!

I ordered a green pork burrito, the beans were not cooked, it looked that they smashed them and put it in tortilla and tasted very plain and without salt. It had very little pork, It was a big burrito, just beans and in one of my bites I found a hair. this is the last time I buy food there. I through it in the trash.

One of the best California burritos, I’ve ever tasted. You can’t go wrong with getting the burrito for sobering up food, omg.

Be ready to pay top dollar for slow service and subpar food– for the money you spend on dog food(their food) you could go to the store and by steak, mashed potatoes, and beer for two! Think about it! But if you want connivence– get your wallet out!

First tried Super Oscar’s when a friend of mine had a carne asada burrito from them to go. I really liked the burrito. It was my first time coming here the other night and instead I tried something different so me and my friend shared a plate of carne asada fries and I wasn’t very impressed. Something in the food had an after taste. The only way I could explain it was like if you have plastic tupperware and it’s getting old and starts making you’re food taste like the tupperware. I feel it was coming from the french fries. I dont know. And I also felt like the meat was a little bland. My other friend got enchiladas and those weren’t too bad. I’ve had better but I’ve also had worse. If I do ever come here again I’d probably just stick to the burritos.

Rolled taco daily special #1, Is life!!! Have been a loyal customer for about 12 years now or more!!! Even though they changed the name from filibertos to oscars. the food is still amazing. The only reason I did not give them a five star, is because everywhere it’s posted 24 hrs, and they are not open 24 hours… just a heads up… someone is going to complain :-) thank you for every year Oscar’s

I usually come here for the breakfast burritos which are usually always a hit for me but I wanted to try the pollo asada fries and for this experience alone this is why I am giving a 2 star. First off there was a smidge of guacamole, the fries were by far the worst fries I have ever had! Just completely soggy and OVERLY greasy. As if they had not cooked the fries completely and just let them soak in oil that was not hot enough to make them crispy. Then there was the smallest dollop of sour cream which did absolutely nothing. The only good things were the flavor of the pollo asada and the flavor of the guacamole. I was splitting this with someone else and we barley ate half before both of our stomachs felt HORRIBLE!!! Dont get Pollo Asada fries from here. Save your $ 10! Like seriously. The quality was soooooooooooo low.

It’s Mexican food. Basic taco shop, rolled tacos and that type of stuff Mexican food. I got a breakfast burrito for lunch and substituted fries in place of potatoes. It was good. All in all there was eggs, cheese, fries, and sausage. Was it the best breakfast burrito ever? No. But it was a solid 4 stars. Good job, Super Oscar’s. I’ll probably be back. Oh and I added a side of guac. 90¢ +tax was 97¢, which I could see on the register, but the woman asked for $ 1 and didn’t offer any change. That’s fine, it’s 3¢ but it just felt a little sneaky.

This taco shop has lost most of its appeal now that it is no longer open 24 hours. It was a good place to come for drunken munchies but sadly that is no longer the case. The food is just average, just your typical taco shop with nothing that stands out too much. They got new workers and the service has gotten a lot better now. The cheese isn’t always melted all the way in the bean and cheese which I think is super gross. The rest of the food is pretty consistent, but nothing great. The carne asada fries are always really big.

OHHELLNAW! Eek! Methinks not. Went through the drive-thru and asked for 3 separate orders because we were a van and going to be splitting costs via different methods etc. When we pulled up he had never done the 3 orders as we vocalized in the drive-thru and just replied«I just put it all on one» What customer service is that. Homie, if you can’t handle the graveyard shift then QUIT. don’t compromise people’s nights with your pissed off demeanor, lack of consideration, and then top it all off with your bland, disgraceful food. It hurts me, it pains my heart and makes me want to hyper ventilate until I pass out driving by here and seeing people in the drive-thru. They’re either going for the first time and finding out the atrocities for themselves, desperate(with munchies) in the wee hours of the night and are settling for non-food, or aren’t san diego natives & don’t know better.

Man! People are tough on this place. Idk. I had my reservations, believe me. When a friend said she wanted to go to Super Oscar’s…if it wasn’t her birthday I would have told her think again. I had never heard of it. Or so I thought. When we finally made it, I remembered I had gone through the drive thru with friends after a night out. I always ALWAYS get the number one at a new taco shop. Or whatever number is their cheese enchilada with beef taco(usually number one or two). But I was like you know what?! We’re at Super Oscar’s, let’s go crazy! My friend recommended the Carne Asada Supreme. Man am I glad she did! It looks like a literal mess and tastes like an amazing. So good! Does it get cold halfway through you eating it because it’s so big? Yup! Should you continue eating it? Nope. Will you? Yep. I ate the whole thing the first time I ordered it and I literally thought I might die. It was WAY too much. And I can EAT. It’s tough though because do you save it? Not such a good save. Although you know I’ve done that too. The beans are runny but they do the job. The salsa is good. I’ve only had the red, so I’m partial. But inside there’s a crazy salsa bar where you can get the 8 salsa’s you may need like me. It’s crazy because all of the salsa’s are in the little containers just in a giant tray with ice. A little scary, a little great. I travel about 12 miles(round trip) out of my way to get to this place. The service is whatever. Not evil, so I’m pretty happy about that. It’s got all the pillars of a standard taco shop and maybe a little bit more. Super? Why not.
