Cool place. Bartenders are great. Mixture of people both old and young. Outside patio is great bring your dog… Fire pit and all. Customers have the control over music so its always a hit and miss depending on your mood. All and all a cool place to hang when you wanna lounge. Dress code not inforced here.

HORRIBLEBARTENDERS. Went here last night with a few friends everything seemed ok til the end. My boyfriend and his friends are known to play around & pick on each other like every typical guys do. well the bartender didn’t think that was cool. He prob. Is used to drunk crazy people i get that but, there was no physical arguement to escalate it to that level of rudeness I mean we’re there providing you’re paycheck. When we asked for drinks he stated, he wasn’t going to serve us anymore. Never in my life have I had a situation of horrible customer service. I felt so unwelcomed after that. We left and went to the bar next door which was amazing. Never go here if you want to be treated poorly

It’s ok. The back areas are nice but the bartenders aren’t the best and it’s more expensive then the bar that’s right next door

Came here last night after Oktoberfest. I actually was here last year after Oktoberfest too. It brings a good crowd in here. It’s one of the few bars I know of in La Mesa. Te drinks are decent and cheap. I got 4 vodka tonics and a beer for $ 29. Not too shabby. They have an outdoor patio in case you need a smoke or come out for some air. They don’t have a DJ but they have a juke box. The fancy ones you can sync to your smart phone. A lot of girls including me wanted to dance but the song selection wasn’t very danceable. Bathroom lines can get pretty long when it’s crowded. There’s just 1 men and 1 women’s restroom.

I have been to many of bars in SD, this one by far has the most mix of people which is so refreshing! Everyone there is enjoying themselves and friendly! It’s clean fun and full if good times to be had!

My husband and I went to Regal one day for a drink and ran across the RUDEST bartender we have ever met! He literally said«What do you want?! And it better not be a Bloody Mary or anything like that!». Appalled, we quickly turned away and went to Pete’s…we will never step foot into this place again(nor anyone we know)! If you want a local bar with good drinks and friendly service visit Pete’s!

This is a very chill spot to get a not so expensive drink. It does get packed on the weekends. Nice place to come to after work. Your friendly neighborhood bar.

Love this place. Always have a good time here, whether it’s a tuesday night for a beer, the summer car shows, or during oktoberfest they always have good service and smiles on their faces. Decent beers on tap, free popcorn, and an patio out back with a fire pit.

Nice little spot for a weekend night. I was surprised to see a place like this in La Mesa. They host karaōke, have a couple billiard tables and a nice patio located out back. You’ll meet some nice locals all while enjoying your«dranks».

I’m fan of local bars, and an UN-fan of local bars. Love, the home feel, and love the local flavor. Hate the loud locals and hate the service that is catered to locals. Regal’s not like that. Bartender was really friendly, and the locals were no more loud that. I’d be at my home establishment. The on tap selection is not great in number, but had a great variety of beer ~ enough to reach across several types of beer loves. There’s a minimal selection of wine, but there were some good bottles. The pool tables rotated through pretty fast, so you know you can get a game in, and there’s an out door section to. be in fresh air if that’s your need as well. And again, the service was great: friendly, well balanced and not at all like you might expect.

Great spot to watch a game. They have an outdoor patio at the back with a projector and a fire pit. I came here during the big and nerve wracking niner and charger game. And was it packed. Easy going bar with attentive bartenders and lots of seating. Decent priced drinks as well. People here are all friendly and all want to have a good time. With that said it was a great spot to enjoy the game and some drinks.

Tight and tiny but long this bar will serve the drink you want, and if it’s not listed they’ll figure it out. Always a must during Oktoberfest it is just a bit too crowded for my style with the walking distance between the bar and the wall being a half turned walking sideways with your ass on the wall to get by the stools at the bar kind of walk.

Just keep walking. Johnny B’s and Pete’s are better.

Always have a great time here! Great prices and Pretty much our go to place when we aren’t satisfied somewhere else. Staff is also so friendly two of the guys can be a little pompous but it’s not too bad.

Came here on a SUNDAY night with my boyfriend around 8pm because we didn’t want to feel lethargic. This place is in downtown La Mesa and I have to admit, this was a pleasant surprise. It was empty because it was a Sunday night, but definitely a place I would revisit. They serve the typical beers on tap, coronas, coors, etc. Unfortunately, they are limited in the food selection, as they only have pizza. We got the sausage and pepperoni pizza. It was about $ 2.50 a slice, so not too bad at all. I loved the chill ambiance of the place, and it’s always nice to chat with the down to earth locals. I would be willing to check it out on the weekend, maybe Saturday :)

First time visiting this bar Friday afternoon around 5:30pm. Stopped in because board outside advertised $ 2 bud lights on happy hour special till 7pm. We had a few beers. 6:30 my friend ordered 4 bud lights and bill came out to $ 20. $ 5 bucks a piece for 12 oz cup. When he told bartender the sign outside said $ 2 till 7pm, they said there is no sign outside. Sure enough it had been removed. When we pointed up to the big screen TV that was still showing daily food and drink specials, that clearly said $ 2 bud light till 7pm, they promptly turned the tv off. They would not honor the advertised special. La Mesa Oktoberfest was going on right outside. So maybe this was an isolated experience to make some extra monay on a busy night. I gave this place 1 star for the actual $ 2 beers we got billed for before 6pm, which is a deal. Free popcorn and dive bar vibe earned it a second star. Fun bar, but if you go get a verbal price check on each round just to be sure you don’t get a jacked tab.
