These guys were supposed to finish my staircase yesterday(09/22/2015) as they promised, but they haven’t. They left the staircase in chaos and my house this morning after coming to the house for a few minutes, showing their unprofessional manners and denying to finish the overhangs and noses that they were supposed to, saying that they weren’t part of the contract. So far, it has been the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Service has been improving since with good amount of involvements from management team. But, job could’ve been finished 3 weeks ago. Stay away from these guys.

Alexander Flooring is definitely a 10 in customer service. I would recommend them to anyone. We bought our laminate from Lumber Liquidators and they use Alexander Flooring for installation. Rich Alexander stands behind his services!

Alexander Carpet and Tile is used by Lowes of Irvine to install carpet that you purchase through Lowes. I had them not only install carpet, but to remove wood flooring from my stairs(before putting carpet) and to build a bull nose on the stairs. They did a horrible job removing the wood floor and damaged a lot of my home in the process(see pictures). They used crow bars to remove the wood floor panels and because they were going so fast, they ripped and tore many section of my baseboards. They also took chunks out of my wood stair banister. When they were putting tack strips down, they were just throwing them around the edges and not lining them up properly and as a result the carpet is directly up to the baseboards in some areas of the home and it is a 1 inch gap between the carpet and baseboards in the other areas of the home. This is simply because they were going so fast, they didn’t properly put the tack strips near the edges of the walls. In areas where the carpet comes up to tile(in bathrooms), the carpet is so low, the tile extends over the carpet which is a trip hazard and just hurts your feet now as you walk up to the tile. It is actually dangerous for my toddler to be walking from carpet to tile. They needed to insert a z-bar to get the carpet up to the tile level, but again, they were working so fast, they didn’t do it. My biggest gripe is that I paid close to $ 1000 for«custom wood work», which is what Lowes called the building of the bull nose on each step of my stairs. Basically what they did was to take a 2×4, cut it into 2 inch strips and them hammer it into each step, so the step extends out and looks like a bull nose. The carpet wraps around it fine and looks like a bull nose, but now each time we step on any of the 13 bull noses, it makes a cracking sound, because you are stepping on a 2-inch piece of wood that is just nailed in. The nails and wood over time will bend with the weight of an adult and I KNOW i’m going to have problems with this in the future. It was just a horrible job, done by a crew that was working super fast so that they could go home. The lead installer Jonathan was a good guy, but everyone else was pretty unprofessional. The workers set up a boombox and were blasting spanish music in my home without asking all day long. I would stay away from this company. Unprofessional and a horrible installation.(See my pics)

I got this referral from Lowes for a two-step carpet repair. Communication delays were tedious, especially when we were on a schedule. In the end, Pedro, the installer, did an excellent job.
