All aside their time to time deals, this place is horrible with customer service from the meat department to the fresh groceries section. VERYVERY rude employees who seem to be angry or annoyed & of no help. Also, They’re stock on various items is also very limited. Won’t be returning.

Love this place, I come for the fruit and vegetables. There always at a good price and theres plenty of parking outside. It is a hispanic grocery store, so you probably wont find hummus or other things like that. Its cheaper than northgate and theres no other grocery store like it in the area.

This is an update to my prior review of having cheap deli meat and produce. Well tonight the person working the meat/deli section once again could not help me. The first time he could not comprehend what i was asking and someone else came and got me what i needed. Tonight i get there at 8:30pm and want deli meat. He tells me sorry he cant get me any as the machine is cleaned and oiled. What? Ive had others get me the deli meat at 9:30 at night. Im assuming he doesnt know how to use the machine and is making excuses or he’s just too lazy. I asked for the manager. The manager could not speak ONEWORDOFENGLISH. He didnt understand when i said are you kidding? We are in America where at least the manager should understand and speak english. So he asked some patron walking by to translate and she of course was reluctant to tell him what i said. I then proceeded to tell him to get me deli meat to which he did. A person has no business being a manager if they cant speak english. I’d like to know who thought it was ok to hire someone to a manager position that could speak or understand zero english. Horrible service from this one guy i’ve dealt with before and a no english speaking manager!

You think you will get a good Carna Asada burrito there. Taste like somebody poured a bunch of grease into a pan through some ground beef in there it’s horrible, for a Mexican grocery store to serve food like that they should be ashamed, this’ll be the last time I ever will eat there. It would be better to buy your own meat and spend the time on cooking your own food because do not depend on superior groceries for quality food, save your money after two bites I threw it in the trash. These are the same people that want to make $ 15 for minimum wage now I know why they don’t.

This place is ok. Its very convenient for me and my quick trips to market. Its clean lots of parking. I do check expiration date more here than at other markets. I have bought exp. Menudo and sausage links. if im spending more than $ 50 I go to food4less. it gets a lil pricey.

They sell ready made mexicon food to go. They have no staff manning that area and it’s very aggravating. Guaranteed to wait painfully.

This place is awful. Poor selection of items. The cashier scans the prices, then does nothing while you bag the groceries. Hey lets trade, I’ll scan and YOU bag. Is this how supermarkets are in mexico? Leave them there, don’t bring them here.

this market is clean and good price on everything but the fried chicken smells like fried fish. 5 stars for the market. 0 stars for the fried chicken.

I had been to this location once before when it was the Bestway market, and it was seriously mediocre. the produce section was atrocious. having been used to the quality, freshness and quantity of vegetables and fruits and northgate, this place was seriously lacking. Luckily that has vastly improved since superior has taken over this location. the produce is much fresher overall. the bakery here is also excellent. the pan dulce and bolillos here are delicious and often fresh and warm as they bake on site(even the northgate in la habra doesn’t bake on site). the carniceria is also good, the marinade they use for the carne ranchera is tasty and spicy. all of those pros are what keeps us coming back once per week :)

I ordered a cake there for my kids birthday, it was last minute. They had a cool display with all the cakes and pastries. From there it went down hill. I stood there for about 5min while the bakers just looked at me and did even ask if I need help. Then finally a lady come and try to help me out. After a few question about the cake, I as for a sample of any thing they had. They sad I needed to buy a slice of cake, so I said OK! and also got some other pastries. The cake was OK, it pass cause I was going for the Disney design, more then the taste. Anyways, they employee really had a additude to start with. I wanted to taste the cake I bought and she kept harassing me to pay first, and kept following me around like I was going to eat and run without paying for it. Anyways, few days later I had to pick up the cake and hoping she wasn’t there. Long behold, she was. I try to say a word and want to just pick up the cake. She looks at me with out saying HI or welcome or anything, but with a angry look on her face. Shen then bring out the cake, and the age was wrong. So I told her and she just looked at me with out apologize about the mistake. At the end of the day, I should of walked away the moment I saw her when making that ordered. I think she might be racist cause I don’t like Mexican or speak spanish. She made me very uncomfortable, made me feel like«I don’t belong there». Very unprofessional and needs training. Cake taste… 2 out of 5. The concept taste is horrabile and the iceing is not even sweet. Could have made it a better cake at home.(I just can’t do the design work) Well, as far as the whole store. Its great, I can find everything I need there and check out is a bit fast.

I would not call this grocery store«superior». It is decent though. When we come down to La Mirada to visit family, this is the closest supermarket. I got to admit that it is better than both Bestway and Vons which both used to occupy the building. The prices are very reasonable. On our most recent visit, the bananas were 4 lbs for a $ 1.00!!! Yes, the bananas were a bit over-ripe and small… but still a great deal! The store is fairly clean, and the staff is fine as well. I really should give them 3.5 stars. Maybe I will be a fan after I try their bakery products. The bakery does look very inviting.

This place used to be Bestway Foods. It re-opened a few weeks ago as Superior. I went in to check it out and as soon as you walk in the door you see a big change. No more dull and dark aisles. The place is brighter and cleaned up a lot. Shelves are stocked and clean. The meat & fish counter is way bigger and nicer. One thing they kept, which I am glad, is the fresh cooked food area and bakery. One thing they changed is you need to bag your own stuff, but I don’t mind. I will be shopping here more in the future.

WHAT!!? NO Tortilleria??? Personally, this is 60% of why I shop at Superior. Fresh hot tortillas, fresh masa and the best«homemade» taco shells hands-down. I spoke with Management and was told this location will continue to get their tortillas, etc… from other stores. The fact that this particular Superior location will not ever have a Tortillieria is a HUGE disappointment. May as well shop elsewhere. Same products, same prices and I don’t have to bag my own groceries

Okay, I do have to admit I liked Bestway Market and I was a little sad to see them go. I was really bummed out because they had this Carnitas Family Pack for 11.99 and alas all good things must come to an end. Today I decided to check out what Superior could do with the newly renovated market that was once home to Bestway and… a long, long time ago, Vons. It was extremely busy for its first day. Wall to wall people swarming for a few freebies from the bakery and hot foods sections and some cheap prices on produce and meat. Overall, the store looks great, everything that Bestway lacked, Superior has made brand new or revamped. This store would be a place I would shop on a regular basis. To my surprise, I saw a worker wearing a chef’s hat in the Hot Foods section and it was Chuy! Seriously, that is his name. He was the head cook from Bestway. I am so, so happy! I even told him about my appreciation. His response was, «Muchias Gracias.» And on top of this, they have the Carnitas Family Pack for $ 9.99, minus the 2 liter soda. Not the greatest Carnitas I have ever had in my life, but you cannot beat the price for a 1 pound of carnitas, rice, beans, salsa and tortillas for a family of four. Happy Shopping!
