Diner en Blanc

I absolutely loved this event! Not ordinary, nice surprise location. Loved the theme, definitely looking forward to next year!

Diner en Blanc is a pop up picnic that occurs all across the country. This year New Orleans hosted its fist Diner en Blanc event. In order to attend this event, you must be invited by someone who attended in the past or you can sign up via the website to be a Waiting List guest. I signed up for the waiting list and a few days later I was emailed an invitation with a password to sign up. The cost to attend the event was $ 35. The cost covered transportation, the venue, and entertainment.
Once registered, you must secure a 32×32″ folding table, two white chairs, linens, food, and drinks. I rented the table chairs, and linens from Perrier Rental for about $ 25. I bought a folding hand cart and bungee cord to secure and transport my table and chairs. This made things a lot easier. Nothing is provided for this «fancy picnic» and everything must be white. Your outfit should be white, but I saw people with varying colors of beige.
The location of the event is secret until departure; that’s the big surprise. This year, the secret location was the port of New Orleans. I look forward to attending next year and seeing how they improve it!
