This was absolutely the perfect place to watch last night’s U.S. Men’s Team quarterfinal game against Ecuador! Thankfully we got there in time to get two great seats right in front of the big main screen, and I was thrilled that it was more of a hole in the wall type pub than a bright, over-air-conditioned sports bar. Very low-key vibe and filled to the rafters with serious USMNT fans, which was excellent. Didn’t try the food, but there was a line out the kitchen all evening, so it must be good. Definitely a younger crowd, but these two middle-aged soccer fans still felt at home, and it was interesting that the bar was located in the middle of a residential neighborhood.(I lost my eyeglasses, and someone had found them for me in the women’s room by the time I retraced my steps, which was especially nice!)

This really IS a five star bar with a grill, but I hate to say, I really wish they had a bigger selection of beers on tap. Other than that, let me say this with all the sincerity and enthusiasm that I can muster in the form of written word: HOLY. SHIT. THEIRFISHANDCHIPSAREAMAZING!!! Beer battered cod served with nice fat, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside cajun fries. Man. HITTHESPOT. They even serve you malt vinegar in a portion cup if you ask for it. That’s the best way, if you ask me, instead of pouring it from a bottle. Incidentally, the tartar they served with it, although I didn’t use much of it, was really tasty. Had a little kick to it. But them fries. OHMAN. I’ve been here for St. Patrick’s day over the last few years, but I recently went there for a bit of day drinking. Parking isn’t too bad right on Banks most of the time. Bartenders are nice and ready to help you out when you have thirst. I’ll be going back more frequently, that’s for sure.

Excellent and friendly service, even when they are busy. There is a reason they are busy too. It’s the best place in New Orleans to watch sporting events of all kinds… Especially Saints games and Soccer from around the world(at all times of the day). The food is some of the best around, and the drink selections are varied and well made. Check out the cocktails. If you are staying downtown this place is well worth the short taxi ride and you will feel very welcomed, and be glad you made the effort.

Sporting events at Finn McCools involves participation, not watching from the sidelines. Whether Olympics or Pay Per View, there will always be an enthusiastic crowd, both indoors and out — spilling out to the street out. Projectors and flat screens cover the walls of the bar/restaurant and the set up outdoors mimics that layout. Lots of fun on the patio, the main building or the front area. The food is mainstream with a few different dishes peppered in — roasted brussels sprouts, yum. Finns = Fun.

Looked specifically for a place to catch my Premier League game(Everton) while I’m visiting the city. Found Finn McCool’s — great spot. I can tell the bartenders have really developed a great rapport with their usual customers that come in for Premier League/6 Nations/other ‘across the pond’ events and I definitely felt like I was at home. Will come back next time I visit!

Unbelievable service. Super great people — staff and other bar patrons. Best place to watch Premier League soccer in NOLA. Easily in the top 10 for watching the saints. Breakfast burrito is 100% legit. Get it in the afternoon whenever you can. This bar is a must. Period.

Came here to watch a Tottenham match — apparently the(very small) NOLA Tottenham supporters club meet here to watch every time. Great selection of beers, very relaxed staff, and a friendly clientele. Cool décor and some benches outside for when the weather is nice. Very chill place, and the perfect location if you want to watch some English football.

Finn’s was a few blocks from my Airbnb on a recent trip to New Orleans. I went there on my first night and really loved the place. The bartender on duty Stacey(sp?) was really nice, attentive and friendly. I had a shot of Jameson and a local beer, and ate dinner at the Rum and the Lash, located in the back of Finn McCool’s. I had a fried chicken sandwich that was crispy, juicy and on a fresh bun. I got it dressed and added the bacon jam, I think it is called. I also got fries and smashed the whole thing. This is definitely a local’s spot as a lot of people that work in the nearby restaurants eat and hang there. Also, Stacey gave me a Rumchata and Fireball shot — my first one and I LOVEDIT! Thanks so much for such a great time in NOLA, I will recommend Finn McCool’s to everyone!

Warm welcome every time with fast service. They’re involved with the community to a high degree and everyone I know has a deep love of Finn’s. It can be tricky parking on big event days so be prepared for that. Selection is extensive on all the booze so I don’t think there’d be anyone disappointed on that front. Good crowd of regulars and the bar attracts a nice population of human beings.

So glad we found this place to watch the Rugby World Cup!!! C’mon Aussies!!! Great atmosphere. Expats everywhere. The saints game was playing at the same time and it sounded as though the locals love Finn McCool’s too — they provide free food before the Saints games! Service is great considering how busy and noisy it can get!

I’ve been going to Finn’s for years! Sometimes for a pint, most times for an occasion. I would say that Finn’s is my «Special Event Bar» because I mostly find myself there for block parties and major holidays. I also bring visitors and family to this bar because for my relatives and myself, it’s as close to Ireland as I can get.(Until I actually make that trip!) Everything about this bar is great! The drinks! The bartenders! The owners! The location, right in the heart of Midcity! The décor, the food, the merchandise, and the weekly events! Trivia, football… FUNDRAISERS! St. Baldrick’s is a special fundraiser that Finn’s hosts every year to benefit the efforts in fighting childhood cancer and is getting bigger and bigger every year. The owners Pauline and Stephen are pillars of the community and are the most amazing people you’ll meet if you’re lucky enough to make their acquaintance. I love Finn’s and the PEOPLE that make it one of the best bars in the city.

This is one of my favorite bars ever! The people are awesome the drinks are great and they have a delicious food place in the back of the bar. We have been coming here for years. We do trivia on Mondays. They are especially fun to watch sports at. One of the best bars in the city for sure!!!

Finns is one of my favorite bars in the city. The owners are really friendly, the drink prices are good, and they have a lot of different, fun events. For example, my fiancé and I came tonight to play trivia which they have every Monday night at 8. This is also a great place to watch soccer if you’re in to that, or the Saints. We also grabbed dinner here tonight. We shared an order of the MoPho style wings, the roasted Brussels sprouts, and then I got a breakfast burrito. The wings were really juicy and the sauce have a really delicious flavor to it. I haven’t tried any of the other flavors, but that one is pretty solid. The Brussels sprouts were delicious! You get a very generous portion for around $ 5! Add hot sauce to the dip and thank me later. The breakfast burrito was fine. Everything tastes fresh. It came with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, and sriracha.

In my last review I gave this place too much credit with four stars. I was hungry and ordered a burger here instead of going to my usual DMacs around the corner this was a big mistake. The burger was two frozen patties with a tasteless pimento cheese and grilled onions that did not add much flavor to the party either. I come to this place often because of Nola Social Ride but other that coming to watch soccer when important games are being played and maybe to watch the Saints its near the bottom of my list of bars. The kitchen here has been a revolving door of failures and it continues to be with the people from Mopho with a limited manu that is overpriced for bar food. $ 10 for a burger with no side and you give me frozen patties, cmon.

Always my favorite spot to watch any sports event and lay back. If you are new to the area and want to meet new people this is the place to go. Everyone is friendly and down to earth. Drinks are well priced and food is delicious. Staff friendly and professional. You will have a good time. Mid city is full of nice bars walking distance to my house, but Finn’s by far is my favorite!

Very cool chill bar to eat and hang out at. It’s big on sports so if you’re coming for a game it’ll probably be a good time. Came here for dinner one night while visiting NOLA. You have to order food at a window on the side and they have specific hours. I got one of the grilled sandwiches — the one with corned beef and spicy cabbage. It’s really small for $ 9, but like everything else in NOLA, flavorful to the point of not being able to finish. Served with kettle chips. One of my friends got an order of the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies which were some of the best I’ve ever had, came out soft and warm. Their jukebox had an eclectic mix, but unfortunately one of my friends payed for 2 songs that they never ended up playing. When we were about to leave it was pouring outside, but one of the staff was generous enough to give us all large trash bags so we can walk back home. I’d come again.

Home to expats and locals alike Finn McCool’s is everything a Pub should be! Friendly staff, well served pints and nips plus an atmosphere unlike anything else in the city. If you’re a Futbol fan this is the place to be for all the matches. Hands down best sports bar in the city!

I like Finn’s. It’s got a nice dark ambiance and I never feel out of place. There always seems to be regulars sitting at the bar, and the food is decent(but not as good as when Boo Koo BBQ was there). I always enjoy watching the football/rugby fans as they root for their teams and it’s nice they have a variety of different games/matches showing on tvs. This also tends to be my bar of choice for popping in to get a bloody mary to go before venturing to grocery shop at Rouses.

This place is perfect for day drinking(Not that its something I do… like every day at least…) It draws a nice day crowd and drinks are pretty cheap. Laid back atmosphere and ample seating to accommodate you and friends. This location also has BooKoo BBQ connected if you need some good eats while you drink. Also if you are the type of person who likes to gamble video poker machines are also located in this locations. Things to consider: This bar is not smoke-free so be prepared for that if you don’t like smoke. This is a neighborhood establishment, where the parking is all on the street so it can be a little scarce but also be conscience of actual residents in the area. Location is not too far off of South Carrollton located right in Mid-City and pretty easy to get to from any area of the city.
