The Sweet Potato Ice Cream is better than Patti LaBelle’s Sweet Potato Pie!!! The Fig Ice Cream is sooo fresh!!! My new ice cream spot!

In addition to my still applicable previous review, I will add that the seasonal offerings(sweet potato pie, fig, and persimmon at this writing) are worth a special trip. See my previous review for more on this fine purveyor of ice cream.

Wonderful service!!! Very cute and quaint ice cream parlor. The owner and his mom were lovely people. He let us sample each flavor which is made in house. No gluten or added ‘mess’. He shared some of the best places for food in addition to sights we could see. The ice cream was phenomenal but his added hospitality made this place perfect. I think we are going back tonight before closing.

LEMONCHIFFON and BLUEBERRYBASIL was the perfect flavor combination to fit the mood my taste buds were in– they wanted something a little sweet and lite and that’s what they got! I loved the service here, Michael, patiently, let me sample just about everything and he kept a smile on his face the whole time. He shared warm family stories about ice cream making memories and we even talked rare jewels– an interest of his. Such a nice visit. Ice cream parlors should make you smile! If the food is sweet so should be the service. Geesh, I just love good customer service. It’ll take you from 4 stars to 5!

There is no way on earth that this quaint ice cream shop should have so many five star reviews. It almost makes me question whether all the other reviewers are real! It isn’t that the ice cream is bad, it is just that there is no way this place deserves five stars. I went in expecting smooth and creamy, dense and luscious ice cream. Instead, I received average ice cream(politely served!) at best. There is better ice cream in New Orleans, by far. I almost didn’t write this review, as I hate being negative about small homegrown businesses. I suggest that the owner go have a few scoops at the local creameries and step up his game a notch or two.

Wonderful little ice cream shop on the corner of Freret, near the public parking lot and Napoleon. There are only about 12 flavors, but they’re all unique and the flavors really match up to their names. The owner is also very kind! He let me sample nearly all of the flavors without my even asking! I recommend coffee if you’re a big coffee drinker, or any of the almond flavors since the almond flavoring is spot-on and creamy. The ice cream here is on the lighter and icier side. I got a small cup with strawberry cheesecake and coconut almond, which was really like two single scoops of ice cream. Total was about $ 3.80 with tax. They have a variety of toppings available, waffle cones and sugar cones. If you don’t like ice cream, they also have sno-balls. There are some tables both inside the shop and outside, but I can see it getting crowded pretty quick on a hot day. The only downside is that they are cash only!

Just had the peppermint… absolutely delightful, perfect on a hot summers day. Their house made ice creams are a wonderful treat and very reasonably priced. I can’t wait to see what these folks come up with for the holiday season…

A little piece of neighborhood magic that actually feels inclusive(unlike some of the more bougie places on freret) and ice cream that strikes a welcome balance between creamy and icy(when creole creamery just feels too high fat, ya dig.) The Ambrosia ice cream was like a southern tea party in my mouth and the blueberry basil was bracingly refreshing. And the best part is the angel of a human being owner who has clearly put his soul into this happy place.

Just wanted to drop a quick review and say if you haven’t gotten ice cream from here yet, you are missing out! It’s all homemade, he has different flavor selections based on the seasons, and he let’s you try lots of different flavors till you get just the right one! Love the customer service and quality of the ice cream!

Great little ice cream shop. The owner is a cool guy and stayed open late for us after getting out of dinner. Cash only!

Thanks to other Unilocalers for highlighting this place, which caused us to check it out! Wonderful small store tucked into the end of Feret Street next to the parking lot. On par with New Orleans — it’s in a converted house, but you can’t miss the giant ice cream cone cut out at the front(which party pooper bf declined to take a photo in front of). We were first greeted by a giant black cat named Jinksys, then we were enthusiastically greeted by the owner of the shop. After I asked«Which flavor is your favorite?» He heartily replied with a laugh, «Well I made them all, so I like them all!» Then he proceeded to give us samples of multiple flavors. I mean totally opposite of other shops’ policy to only try a few — he offered us more than we would have picked! The flavors were bright and tasty across the board. I got peaches/almond(top notch almond flavor btw) and bf got coconut and some sort of other flavor with crunchy bits. They also have snoballs in a multitude of flavors if ice cream isn’t your thing. Service was wonderful(each customer really got individual attention with kindness and patience to boot) and the ice cream was good. We will definitely swing by again if in the area! Hint: you can get 2x flavors in a single scoop to try out more flavors!

The blueberry basil flavored ice cream is to die for!!! Amazing little place, great service! They will let you try all the flavors until you fall in love with one, almost all gluten free and no preservatives or gum added to it. Yum!

What a great little ice cream shop! The server(owner?) was super friendly and funny. He claimed that they make all their ice cream in house. I actually had my mind on a snoball when I came in but tried their strawberry cheesecake ice cream and ordered that instead. It was creamy and delicious, you could tell that it was pure ice cream, nothing artificial. I’ll definitely be back to try one of their snoballs. Please go here! You’re supporting a local neighborhood business with an awesome product.

The coffee ice cream is a must-try. The flavor is great, not too sweet, not too rich. It is just right.

This place is amazing!!! I came here with my friend Max who was dying for ice cream, on a cold day in December. Of course I dug in my heels and screamed and shouted that I would not eat ice cream while wearing a winter coat. Well, I did and it was awesome. All of the ice cream is homemade. Michael, the owner, told us that they make the ice cream without any additives like the gum you find in mass produced ice creams. Apparently the gum dries out your palate and makes you crave water after a scoop of their ice cream. Ice cream 504 had awesome flavors to try… I think I had strawberry cheesecake and sweet potato. Maybe I had peppermint coffee, or maple syrup something or other. I don’t know. I do know, however, that I will be going as soon as the weather heats up!!! YUM.

Homemade & gluten free(less the strawberry shortcake flavor), locally owned business… So here’s the SCOOP(shameless pun). Recommended in a review/post by Jen L, we journeyed over here for a much needed post-Saints vs Falcons Game loss treat. Much to our delight, the ice cream selections, we tried 80% of them, were truthful in flavor & quite palatte pleasing. My choice was the sweet potato flavor, as I’m a loved of the vegetable. The portion size was generous enough that I had half left once I arrived home, hello that’s a 15 minute drive at ‘bat out of hell’ speed. Michael, I guess the owner, nosey me didn’t inquire this time, I was too entranced by the mouth full of flavors & my upcoming decision of which ONE to get, was quite pleasant & accommodating as we tasted all but a few of the ice cream treats. I’d like to see more signage, as what’s there now is swallowed by trees &ALL of Freret Street. Oh and a square reader or other POS tool for checkout, as of my visit mid-December it was CASHONLY. Quick Note: Be mindful of Mr Black Cat that guards the entrance, he’s madly friendly & would love a quick rub if you would.

Yay a new ice cream shop… which has only been open a couple of weeks. The space is small but I like the sparkly booth seats. The ice cream selection is small but there is definitely something for everyone. I had the peach vanilla and it was fresh and tasty. My only small point was that the peaches bits were large so they got a bit icy to the tooth. But that’s probably me just being a weirdo. My friend loved her toasted coconut and it was yummy. The business is cash only and supposedly also has snowballs but I didn’t see anyone get those while I was there.

Had the vanilla toffee ice cream — delicious. Can taste the purity in the ice cream without all the additives in store bought. Had a taste of the blueberry basil — delicious too! Heads up: they take cash only at the moment.
