Pure Hair Studio

My hair was in desperate need of a trim/​cut. My usual go-​to places were busy, then I remembered seeing this shop while visiting another place and decided to pop in to see if they accepted walk-​ins. They do! Loan was available that moment and jumped up to help. It is in a quiet area just over the edge of the Lakeview neighborhood. The shop is neat, clean, well lit and nicely decorated. Loan was very friendly. She and another employee were concerned about another client, which I found to be very thoughtful and delightful as they were concerned for her well being without being gossipy, which is very nice.
The entire time I spent in the salon was about 30 – 45 minutes, the cost was $ 35, which is very reasonable. I look forward to coming back, and would encourage others to come here as well.

I am new to the area and purchased a living social deal to Pure Hair. I did a test run of the salon on my daughter who just needed a trim. The stylist was quick and efficient… She didn’t really engage too much with my seven year old or me. The salon itself is small and clean. One of the customers was loud and swore a ton. The stylists did everything they could to keep on her about her language because of my daughter. I didn’t ask them to do anything, but I really appreciated their effort. It meant a lot. I am giving this a three for a couple of reasons. 1. My daughter’s hair cut isn’t all that even. There are a lot of longer chunks… and it is not layered. I played with it a lot to see if I had her part in the wrong spot, but I couldn’t make it look even. 2. The salon is A-​OK as the review says. It is all in what you are looking for. I am into a little bit more personalized service. I am willing to pay more to be greeted with a drink and have good conversation.

I gave this salon 4 stars because it is close to my house, and they are pretty good with hair. I usually just get a basic cut and style. I went to the same stylist who worked here but sadly, she moved to another salon, but I really liked how she did hair. This place is fairly small, and the parking lot is very small. The atmosphere inside isn’t the best but it isn’t the worse. Their prices are what most salons these days charge. I am not sure if I will stay at this salon or go to a different now that my stylist is gone.

I have been going here for about two years now and absolutely love it! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Tash always knows just what to do (or not do) with my hair and has given me my best cuts yet. The location is great and the salon is super cute. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Fantastic! At this point my whole family is going to Pure (seriously, siblings, cousins, family friends, everyone) and we all see Karen. She does a great job with everyone despite the wide spectrum of hair types and styles and is always super pleasant to talk to. She’ll also be very honest with you about what will and will not work, which is a big bonus. Also, on the plus side, I can always get an appointment on short notice, sometimes even the same day.

Love my stylist Karen! She and the other ladies are great and so nice. They have done a great job with my hair and are very reasonably priced!

I was in need of finding a new hair stylist and decided to go back to my original one I had at the previous salon I went to, which closed down. Her name is Melanie and she left before the place closed, and I didn’t bother staying with her (not because she wasn’t good, but because I personally knew the owner of the salon and wanted to give her the business). After searching, I decided to go back to Melanie, who now works here. She did a great job with my hair. She’s very friendly and offers great customer service.
It’s also really close to my house so I don’t have to worry about fighting traffic.

This place is a bit off the beaten path but just great! I was recommended to come here for my wedding trial session and I am very pleased. My hair and makeup was so much better than I expected. My stylist, JoAnn, was friendly, professional, and a true artist. I would definitely highly recommend this establishment.
