Excellent place. I’ve been coming for years, and today my daughter came for her 1st haircut from Andrea and it was a magical experience. Thanks we love you.

I’m a low maintenance kinda chick. It’s a very rare thing for me to actually go to a salon and get my hair done professionally. There have only been 2 times in the last year and a half that I’ve sucked it up and gone into a salon and both times it was at Salon Diversions. First time with Gabby, who took my long thin(read stringy) hair and chopped it off into the most adorable little bob. Second time was today with Jennifer. I walked in with uneven, shaggy frizz ball hair, with a picture of Nicole Richie circa long bob with bangs, and SOMEHOW in an hour, she totally transformed my hair into exactly what I wanted! The Salon itself is such a peaceful little Oasis on Royal St. and the ladies are total sweethearts. Highly recommend!

Was in town for my bday and felt like getting dolled up. Luckily I found Salon Diversions. Gabby did my hair & make up in less than an hour and gave me exactly the look I was hoping for and it cost a good quarter less of the price it costs back home. The salon sent reminder texts about the appointment and the space & location couldnt be beat. Highly reccomend if you are looking for hair & make up in the FQ.

Gabby is truly the BEST at Extensions! I have been going to Gabby for well over a year now and am so pleased with my extensions and her amazing attention to detail(not letting them show). I have very fine hair and it does not grow much, i first got the fused in extensions from someone else prior, at another salon, and they literally pulled my hair out over time. GABBY suggested tape in extensions and showed me the benefits of tape ins and I am so hooked! And, thanks to her, my hair is growing back! She takes great pride in what she does and thete idcno better feeling thsn people telling me how pretty my hairvis. And, her styling and blowouts make me feel beautiful! And, she does an amazing job at makeup application too! I would recommend Gabby and Tape In Extensions to anyone who struggles with hair growth or just wants longer hair, tape in extensions and Gabby is the best way to go!

I saw Elizabeth for a bikini wax. She is the BEST! Not a hair was spared. And that’s exactly what I wanted. She uses high quality products and she was quick and professional. I highly recommend her for any of your waxing needs. :)

I can not say enough good things about the incredible up-do that I had done at this salon or the stylist who I made an appointment with. The salon itself is very clean, stylish, the employees were friendly, and I would say average-for the area-price. But for what I paid, I feel like I got a great hair style and therapy on the side. A week in advance, I made an appointment from where I live in DC based on two things: Salon Diversions was easy to walk to from my B&B in the French Quarter and the reviews for Cara were really good. I rely on Unilocalers a lot and it usually always works out! This time was no exception. I read a reviewer saying that Cara could even handle a Bridezilla so I thought I would be all set since I’m usually a very laid-back person. I know my hair can be difficult to style because it is very fine. So when my BF and I decided to elope in NOLa by ourselves I knew I wanted someone else to put up my hair – less stress for me. Thank god I did because I was caught off guard by a bit of a panic attack on the big day and with no girlfriends around me to talk to(the elopement was a secret) I was having a tough time. As soon as Cara found out I was the one getting married she got me a beer, a Miller High Life, and joked about it being appropriate because it said«champagne of beers» on the label. I showed her a couple of loose styles I had pulled off of the internet and she set to work both on my hair and chatting with me about marriage, joking around, and reminding me to breathe every now and then. She was terrific!!! I brought some silk flower clips with me that she did a great job incorporating into the style. The up-do was exactly what I had asked for and lasted all night on an 80+ degree day(not an easy feat with fine shoulder length hair). To top it all off, knowing that I had been too nervous to eat that day she sent me to the corner market just down the street(Verti Marte) for an «All That Jazz» Po’Boy and a large fountain drink! Delicious and just what I needed! Thank you, again, Cara!

I love salon diversions! I don’t get in as much as I would like to, but every time I’ve been I’ve had a wonderful experience. all of the stylists are really sweet and welcoming! I have seen gabby for cuts, color, and extensions. gabby is a total hair wiz and completely fearless when it comes to the task at hand. you’d never know if this chick was sweating. she has made my hair the most incredible shades of red, including a sick ass ombré. I completely trust her with any and all of my hair needs!

This is the best salon I’ve ever been to. I’m a blonde who is prone to warmth but has a love affair with ash tones. Gabby is the only one who understands me and my need for unattainable blonde excellence. Plus she’s got an ass that just doesn’t quit(fellas), so she’s got a little something for everyone.

I am visiting from Houston and attending a black tie event and needed an updo and makeup application. I found Salon Diversions online and made an appointment for both. Jennifer did my makeup and Rachel did my updo, they are truly a Dynamic Duo! I left feeling beautiful, elegant, glamourous and ready to show off my amazing look! The customer service and creativity from the entire staff is also a wonderful thing. I will be back!

so upset right now. Yes I had chemical breakage and I needed a trim but there was plenty of hair for Gabrielle to work with. She over layered my hair and instantly I feel as if I have been scalped. Not everyone is great with color and cuts and in this instance I am grateful they will be reversing the charge on my cc card because I now have a head full of very short layers everywhere. It’s going to be a full year before certain layers reach to my jaw line. I told Gabrielle to cut my hair dry since my hair shrinks up when it’s curly and she simply would not listen to me. She got my hair wet and went through the back of hair where my hair was mostly one length and added so many layers it’s way too short. It’s funny when I was trimming my own hair carefully I receive so many compliments all the time. After getting a «professional» cut here at this salon the compliments just stopped and I feel as if she thinned out my hair. Hair grows thank god but now I feel I really would never trust anyone here to cut my hair ever again. I think they are good with conservative looks and that is about it. I don’t think they know how to «trim» hair into a style. My hair could have been shaped which is what I requested but she really dug in with the layering so may hair looks scalped and butchered. Sorry I think I know my hair better than someone who has never cut into it before. I am upset can’t wait until a year from now and then I don’t think I will trust anyone to touch my curly hair again unless it’s a seasoned salon owner. When someone tells you they don’t like SHORTHAIRCUTS you should not go ahead and dig in with the scissors. She was better at achieving color and I don’t want to be bitter here but there was a lot of hair for her to work with and she was not creative enough she just chopped and chopped and chopped.

Love the online booking system that they have here… super efficient and convenient. And you definitely won’t forget that you have an appointment here or what time it is because you get multiple text reminders… I had an 11 am appointment for hair styling and eyelash application for an event. There was a 15 minute wait when I got there at my appointment time, but I felt like the hair stylist took her time with my hair and didn’t rush when she was informed that her next client had arrived. She did a lovely job with my curls and they lasted all night. It was a bit weird that they didn’t have any glue for the eyelashes, but another girl ran out and picked some up pretty quickly. So that wasn’t a problem. The lashes looked great and also lasted all night. $ 55 for the hair, and $ 15 for the lashes… not cheap but completely reasonable. I tipped $ 15 on top.

My hair was a mess of color after a stylist in New York butchered my hair. I called Salon Diversions at 1:45, and was penciled in for 2(I live around the block, so this was perfect). I was a little hesitant to try a salon I hadn’t heard of previously, but anyone that’s had a wonky cut or color will know what I mean when I say I was desperate. I’m SO glad I took the chance! Atmosphere: Friendly and chill! I was offered some water as soon as I walked in, everyone was smiling and sweet. The clientele and stylists looked content. Service: My colorist, Jennifer Stringer, worked some SERIOUS magic on my poor locks in astounding time. Seriously, this lady is amazing! She was very friendly and I found myself instantly at ease with her. She made sure I knew what was happening every step of the way, answered every question I had, and mirrored my enthusiasm at the final result– which is BEAUTIFUL. She even trimmed the hair extensions I brought for color reference so they wouldn’t look so bulky! I used to fear going to hair salons, but this experience really changed my mind. I’m actually excited for my next visit!

Where has Breegan(sp?) been all my life? I’m very particular about my hair and have been looking for someone like her for years. Not only is she super knowledgeable, but she explains everything to you before she does it and asks questions so that I felt understood and taken care of. Incredible. Go here, y’all. Right meow.

Got a last minute haircut in preparation for a Mother’s Day dinner. Unfortunately I am bad at remembering names, but my stylist was AMAZING! She kindly took me last minute(as a walk-in) and was very personable and made the experience a fun one. I would highly recommend this salon… great atmosphere and a friendly staff.

I found this place on Unilocal and it has pretty good reviews and I needed a haircut immediately so decided to give it a try. I got a same day appointment with Shannon. *Biggest drawback of this place… Parking, which is not a shock since it’s in the French Quarter. It took me over 20 minutes to find a spot and I still had to park illegally. Shannon was very friendly and did a good job with the haircut. Although, when my hair dried, she had left some uncut chunks in my bangs which I had to go back a few days later to have her fix. The place was very friendly about scheduling a time for me to come in for her to fix this. She charges $ 32 for a men’s haircut which is very reasonable. I will definitely go back although I think it is best to pick a Tuesday-Thursday morning or afternoon since it is easier to park in the Quarter on those days.

There is a poem by John Koethe that states, She had the blondest hair, Which fell across her shoulders, and a dress of almost phosphorescent blue. She liked Ayn Rand. We went down to the Village for a drink. ======================================================== After having a drink in the village(french quarter), It was time for Andrea to rock my hair’s world. When I first moved to the Quarter three years ago, finding a place to have my hair cut seemed impossible. I wasn’t expecting much when I went there, but since that day I have refused to go anywhere else. The salon attendant is very kind and always offering refreshments. There is a diverse array of stylists. I have had everything from professional cuts to dyed hair and they have never done me wrong. They always ask you for your input and you are welcomed to give feedback. My favorite part is the head message and hair washing. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

Andrea rocks! She’s been cutting my hair for years now. I refuse to go to anyone else. She never lets me down. My friend Elizbet, formerly of Bombshell, is now doing waxing here! She gives THE best Brizillian. Again, I won’t go to anyone else except her. Nothing more needs to be said.
