I went in for a simple polish change. I’ve been kind of down ever since my cat passed away last week and I thought I would treat myself to a nice new coat of blue nail varnish. The owner did my nails. She didn’t speak with me during the procedure but instead hurried through each step, roughly removing the varnish from my nails. Then, she began painting a fluorescent pink shade upon my nails. I told her«please, use the blue shade I selected» but her cold gaze didn’t meet my eye and it truly felt as though she ignored my plea. Then, with the utmost care, she began painting portraits of the muppet babies upon each of my nails. I have no idea why she thought this is what I wanted, especially considering I continually asked her not to paint any more muppet babies upon my nails. They are truly tiny works of art, although their innocent faces remind me of my recently departed Trixie. Is it possible that she was calculating and patient enough to want to hurt me in this way? I don’t think I will ever know.

This is by far one of the WORST facilities I’ve gotten wax service at. I went in for an eyebrow clean up, the owner, Hoa Chau, conducted my service. When she was finished waxing my eyebrows she applied a gel that burned so bad. I’m from Houston and I always have my eyebrows maintained, so this wasn’t my first rodeo… I knew something was wrong. That evening my eyebrow was still very red, the next morning I saw a scab on my eyelid. She clearly ripped off my skin, and I’m not talking about a little… she went down to the meat. When I went into the salon to discuss my findings, Hoa Chau, the owner, was so disrespectful and unprofessional. I’ve been in the customer service world, and she did absolutely NOTHING to appease me or refund me. She stated that ‚“had [she] ripped off my hair wrong she’d gladly give me my money, but since it was the skin [she] pulled off it was OBVIOUSLY my fault.” Not only did she pull off my skin, but didn’t even offer an apology… she doesn’t deserve a client like me! She’s rude! BLAMINGTHECUSTOMER?! Seriously? What planet is this woman on? If you are in the CBD in New Orleans and need a quick service, there are other places that will treat you like royalty… don’t waste your time or money on this facility! UGH!

Don’t go here. Actually, if you find yourself in the general vicinity, run. Run as fast as you can. The owner of this salon is awful. Please note, I’m using the word awful. As in, probably shouldn’t be considered a part of humanity as a whole because may lead to it’s downfall. Yeah, I’m going there. Burnt flesh is typical at this place. As is terrible service. While the staff other than the owner may be pleasant, I wouldn’t support a business that treats its patrons as such. She is disrepectful, arrogant and lives life taking joy in the pain she causes others. So what happened, you ask? Burnt flesh. BURNTFLESH. In being approached about this, her response, «Yeah, but you look great. So what matter?» Unacceptable. Band together, Unilocalers and boycott this silly establishment!

TOPLINENAIL and HAIRSAVEDMYWEDDING. I recently held my wedding in New Orleans on the Natchez riverboat. Coming in from out of town and handling all the details of a Destination Wedding, I forgot to make a nails/hair appt. On the day of my wedding after calling around, nobody could take me. I took a walk around the French Quarter and found Top Line Nails. The owner met me at the door, when I explained to her that It was my wedding day, she took me right away even though they were booked and short staffed. While doing my nails, I sheepish asked her if she knew anyone who could do my hair? The owner told me that she owned a hair salon uptown but it was not open on Saturday. I told her it would be okay I would just put some curls in myself. After working things out, the owner took me over to her salon across town and OPENEDHERCLOSEDSALONJUSTFORMETODOMYHAIR. she did a beautiful job and saved my wedding!!! Thank you so much Hoa Chau. You are a wonderful spirit!

I asked to have my hair put up into a bun for a stage production we were in. The lady there(long dark hair) stuck me repeatedly with bobby pins and when she was done the bun was a bit to the left. Instead of taking the bun down and putting it back together, she took a rat tailed comb and pulled the bun to the center of my head. A few weeks later my hair fell out leaving a bald circle with a pool of blood in the center. I went to see my regular hairdresser who reported to me that I had cuts all over my scalp from the bobby pins. When I showed her what happened she said I did it when I slept on my head. It took three visits to a dermatologist with steroid shots in my scalp to get my hair to grow again. I will never go back again, and I hope the building lets someone else move in who can provide a more professional service.
