Part of the Orange County Public Libraries which you can use the same library card. Let me just tell you in advance, this place is comparable to a hole in the wall restaurant. It’s small, there’s a small lot next to the police station, there’s only 2 – 3 librarians who works here. But you’re not here for that are you? You’re here to get your learning on so what’s great about here is that if you’re in the toddler age, they have story book readings once a month. They have activities for kids once in awhile as well. Currently, before Nov 15, bring your kids in under 12 and read 15 books, your kid can earn up to 3 Inn and Out burgers. As for the items to borrow here, this is one of the largest places that has Japanese books. Now I can’t read a whole lot of Japanese but my dad loves this place. There’s always something for him here. For me, there is a small section of DVDs, probably half of that of Cypress Library. However, after exploring the titles, it seems they have more box sets and more updated movies(even bluerays!) than that of Cypress. Just note that these are 7 days and are not renewable. This place doesn’t look like a million bucks like the Cerritos Library but it sure does have enough of what I need. Most of these activities I described earlier won’t be shown on their website so do yourself a favor and come in here. Oh, once in awhile you’ll be able to find books for sale here for cheap as well. They are usually left outside by the bookdrop.

what a nice little neighborhood library! :] a good selection of books, nice volunteers and librarians and a very friendly environment for children. its definitely not as fancy as cerritos library but its definitely nicer than any LA county library. the library shares a parking lot with city hall and also is walking distance from la palma’s central park! happy reading!

My first impression was, «It’s been the local library of choice growing up in La Palma junior high through high school!» — – Skip this section if you’ve never heard of La Palma. — – Background on the city of La Palma on all the La Palma reviews: The motto is «City of Vision,» with the title of being the smallest city in Orange County in terms of area. Location wise, it’s in the middle of Buena Park, Cypress, Cerritos, and La Mirada, so living here and going to school here was one of the most convenient. This small city though, has a lot to offer, great, friendly people, and known for all the beautiful palm trees! I love this city. You know you grew up in La Palma if: — You went to Walker Jr. High and then two years later went to Kennedy High School across the street. — You knew everyone and their dads, moms, brothers, sisters, and grew up with the same kids your whole life. — The biggest crime you witnessed was when the cops hit up that jaywalker. — Hung out at CENTRALPARK after school playing basketball, playing tennis, or loitering with a bunch of other kids who went to Walker and Kennedy. — Knew someone who was in the Kennedy Band. — Took the test to try and get into Oxford or Whitney but then still ended up in La Palma. — Right before school and right after school there were a bunch of kids on La Palma Ave. — Everyone would loiter at Yen’s Chinese Restaurant and the cops would hang out there after school in case«anything went down,» because apparently there are no crimes and there is no one else to catch in La Palma besides rude teenagers. — – Back to the review. — – La Palma Library is small, crowded and loud(after school hours), and there are very few places to sit. HOWEVER, go there on a normal day or while all the kids are in school and you’ll be approached with a great place to read, study, or take the kids to borrow some library books. The librarians are super friendly and there aren’t any of those«old, cranky, librarians,» who don’t like their jobs. They have a lot of fun events throughout the Summer for kids(some which I have volunteered for in HS, like the Chalk Art, speakers, arts and crafts, etc.) The lasting impression? «Read here since elementary, volunteered here in teen years, have visited here when I got older, and it’s the local library to go to in the area!»
