This place is good if your a sea food lover. I was not real one who likes sushi but it’s pretty good here. I would recommend this place to people who like sea food. They need to improve in the dessert section tho.

First time at this buffet was pretty decent so I decided to make a reservation for 25 people for the following week. Being the host and all, I arrived 30 minutes before the reservation time. When I arrived at the front door the handles were chained together with a sign saying«Under Construction». I dont understand how hard it is to give me a simple phone call or leave a voicemail apologizing that they would be under construction the day of my reservation. With 20 minutes to spare, I had to call/message 20+ people to meet at Tokyo Seafood Buffet instead. Will never come back to the buffet ever again.

The food is pretty good for buffet standards based on a $ 10 — $ 15 range. Not too bad. The sushi was pretty fresh. You know the sushi is good if you don’t have to use soy sauce. The waiters are very active on making sure you get refill. Not to bad, will be back again.

I don’t care for buffets in general. It’s easier when it comes to large parties though. I came here for a friend’s graduation dinner. The separate room on the left side was reserved for her, which was pretty cool. I always try to get only a little bit of different dishes, so I can see what I like before getting more. I try my best not to waste food. I don’t remember everything I ate, but I liked the sashimi, clams, and sausage. They also had Thrifty ice cream. Most of them were pretty empty though. I kept rechecking if they switched the containers out.

This was the second time that I’ve been to this place. The first time was so-so, but on this occasion it was horrible. Overall the quality of the food was good, but the service was absolutely poor. I understand it’s a buffet, but for the servers to not come back and fill up your drinks or take the dirty plates is inexcusable. Furthermore, the hostess who seats you is rude and gave me an attitude when I pointed out that one of the people in our party was a senior. This place was much better when it was VIP buffet. I’m sure they will not last long, but then again if you like so-so food and crappy service, this might be your go to place. Not for me!

I have been to many buffet places. But, this place… is a «so so» type of AYCE spot. Their prices are very cheap. But, the quality… isn’t all that cracked up to be. I would only recommend Lunch Buffet. Dinner Buffet… they only add 4 or 5 dishes onto the lunch dishes.

I had the lunch buffet here with the family for $ 8.29, with a $ 1.50 soda. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had 3 plates. Sat around and played with my phone as my stomach readied itself for 2 scoops of ice cream before we left. Service was quick and moderately attentive. Facilities were clean, plates and tables were clean, but most importantly, the dining area was clean. I’ve been to too many seafood buffets that skimp on cleaning. The food was as fresh as cheap seafood buffets could be, and they were constantly bringing out new pans of food. The woman behind the sushi roll stand was taking orders for specific rolls. One smart guy even asked for a «roll with no rice.» Just ask for sashimi, dude. The rolls were very good and the veggie dishes were great. Their salad bar is lacking but who goes to a seafood buffet for salad, anyway? This deal is incredible and the quality is impressive. If you’re in the mood for a cheap buffet without feeling like you just ate 3 week old rat food, this is the place to go. Of the cheap seafood buffets I’ve been to, none have provided the same level of quality and service for the outrageously affordable price. I’m tempted to come here next time I want a quick lunch that’s filling, fast, and won’t destroy the wallet.

$ 8 Lunch buffet with sushi. Granted, it’s not great sushi, but I’ve had it a couple of times without keeling over yet. Think of this place like you’re trying out fugu. Sure, there’s a slight chance you might overdose on tetrodotoxin and die, but the rush of living life on the edge really makes it all worthwhile. It’s also one of the most economical ways to flirt with death. For the price of fugu, you could probably have four meals here. For the price of a motorcycle(at least those not made by Fisher Price), you could eat here 1000 times over. Think of how much extra money you would have to spend on a prime piece of funeral real estate. Feeling lucky?

I Like the food very much. My favorite sashimi crabs seafood. But other things that counts. Restrooms need a little more attention. It always smell damp and dark. Exhaust fan don’t seem to work half of the time. If it had any. No phone we can call.

Knocked my rating down to 1 star because of a very horrible experience last Saturday. The waitress was unbelievably rude so I asked to talk to her manager, but it turns out that waitress was part owner! I’m not going to waste my time going into details, but I will never come back to this place again. To think that I was the first to put in a review for this place(5 stars originally). These people should not be in the restaurant business.

It was so much better when it was VIP. My family and I haven’t been in this area for a while so we were unaware that it had changed. We decided to try it out anyway since we drove such a way to get there. There was no greeting or welcoming when we walked in, just an irritated hostess who immediately asked«how many» before briskly walking us to a table. We placed our drink orders and normally drinks would appear within 5 minutes but we didn’t get our drinks until after we finished eating our first round. I had to flag down a server to remind him about our drinks. Said server then walked to the back and alerted another server who came to our table to take our drink orders again. Working in the food industry, I understand that things can get a little hectic but by this time, we had already been waiting for half an hour. Two Cokes, a water, and hot tea shouldn’t take that long. The food itself was bland all across the board. The«scallops» weren’t even scallops at all! It was a mixture of ground up meat with bits and scraps of nonexistent scallops. I was so disappointed! The hibachi grill wasn’t that great either… also completely bland. The meat lying in the buffet line was unseasoned and again, disappointing. The only entrée that was decent was the mayonnaise shrimp. I was skeptical about the ice cream because it’s self scoop and kids were making a mess of things. I opted for the little cakes instead but they were dry. My family and I left this place feeling dissatisfied and agreed that we’d never come back. The worst thing that can happen to a restaurant is when cheap, mediocre owners take over those that should still be standing.

I was part of the family that Ramona commented on. I was the one that dealt with the owner/management. So we booked their main room for 200 people following our mother’s funeral. Another party booked for 70, but around 120 showed up for their party. Palace Buffet seated these people in our seating and also allowed walk-ins to sit in our reserved seating. Not only this, there was no table reserved for the family. Keep in mind this is after our Mother’s funeral. All I was told was how it wasn’t their fault. The other party brought too many people. Never once was our family given an apology of any sort. What did they do to make things right? They offered to comp me 50 sodas on a $ 2400 bill, which we were over charged for in the 1st place because they charged all of the seniors full price. After finally going back and forth many times, I finally settled on a price, only because I was completely embarrassed fighting/negotiating in front of all my guests. Done, right? Not even close. The owner starts insulting me because we didn’t leave a tip. Leave a tip after they ruined our mom’s funeral reception? Tip after our guests had to wait over an hour to eat and many people left because they couldn’t wait? The owner goes on to tell the waitresses, so now I have 5 – 6 waitresses yelling at me saying that they deserve their tip and whatever issue I have is with the owner, not them. I do sympathize with them because I did work in a restaurant for 4 years, but expecting a tip after this is ridiculous and yelling at a customer for a tip is beyond unprofessional. I know mistakes happen, but I gave them every opportunity to make things right and they didn’t. Like I said before, not one single apology or any sign of sympathy.

Been going to this place for years. I believe this restaurant have changed at least three times and wondered what happened because the first time I came here when it was VIP Buffet I thought it was booming with customers, but I guess I was wrong. Whatever the case is, I enjoyed the food enough to be coming back over and over. I usually grab the same thing all the time which is: CHEESEWONTONS — My favorite, man! It’s a fried wonton folded into a triangle filled with maybe cream or cottage cheese and other things. I like that there’s a bit of a sweet taste to it. I love these bitches so much I would just eat that alone at the buffet. #1 choice all the time I come here. SUSHI — I don’t know what each sushi is called, but it’s one of the lightest things there. Sometimes I get tired of the greasy items so I throw a couple of sushi pieces in the mix to balance light and heavy foods. FRIES — The fries are good here when they are not stale. They remind me of the lovely KFC fries back in the 90s when I use to order them and eat them with my Chicken Littles. They aren’t thin like McDonald’s and they aren’t huge like at Denny’s, they are just right for me. Good golden brown fries… at an Asian restaurant… who would’ve thunk. WALNUTSHRIMP?(Dinner) — It taste just like walnut shrimp, but I didn’t remember seeing walnuts. Babe and I went at lunch time and didn’t see this tray so I think it’s only a dinner item. There’s a sweet glaze over the medium size shrimp that taste so good. Combine it with their fried rice to cut the sweetness a bit and it tastes just right. FRIEDRICE — Plain. It’s not a bad thing. Has some corn, peas, eggs, in it I think. I just throw the rice on my dish because it’s part of eating it with chicken wings, walnut shrimp, orange chicken, clams, etc. HOUSESPECIALSHRIMP(Dinner) — Another dinner item that’s a must. Grab a few limes and mix it with salt and pepper and I guarantee you you’ll love this dip for it. If you haven’t tried eating the head part yet try it with the dip. I know some people throw that part away, but it’s pretty tasty and crunchy. The only part I don’t eat is the tail. ICECREAM — They got the Thrifty ice cream here! In my opinion Thrifty ice cream is underrated and goes unrecognized. It’s really good. I’m pretty sure many of us have gone to Rite-Aid and got their really delicious ice cream on a cone/waffle cone/cup before. Some flavors that stood out was Strawberry Shortcake, Strawberry, Orange, Chocolate. Remember to save a space for dessert. It’s worth it, it’s all you can eat Thrifty ice cream. Yeah! There’s a few more, but I’m tired of writing. There’s a special at the moment Lunch $ 7.99 and Dinner $ 11.99. Give it a try while it’s still that price because I don’t think it’s going to stay that way. You pay after you eat. They seat you first and they will give you the check once they believe you look like you are done. Our total came out less then $ 20 and that’s plus one soda. That’s a huge bargain considering 2 people, one drink(share and save money :)), all-you-can-eat. Foods not that bad, but then again it’s just my opinion.

6 of us visited on Friday around 5 p.m. Perhaps a dozen customers inside. Nice, new, and clean. $ 12 per person. Total bill came to less than $ 80. Our plates were removed the instant we returned to the buffet. The sushi was very good. Not fantastic, but great. Good enough for 2 heaping plates. The sashimi was fantastic. Extremely fresh and glistening with moisture. Green beans were excellent. Chicken and broccoli was fresh and tasty. Mushrooms are always great. BBQ pork(char siu) was old and dry. Sausage was great with a nice spicy kick to it. Dim sum had good flavor but not fresh. Probably from the lunch crowd. I didn’t try the crab legs although I witnessed full plates of them at various tables. I also didn’t try the mongolian BBQ but it looked very appealing. Too full! May I suggest 1 p. m lunch and 7 p.m. dinner for the freshest quality meal. All-in-all a positive experience and we will return soon.

Palace Buffet We rented out the banquet area for my daughters christening reception. The place looks a lot better then before. Total face lift! It’s open, cleaner, and just more appealing to the eye. I hope the kitchen received the same amount of love. The dishes are similar to before and have your basic Asian cuisine and then some. My favorite would be the sushi. They don’t have many selections but what they do offer is alright with me. Though, I would prefer more ice on their sashimi display so they stay cooler. Overall, the quality of the food is okay and a tiny bit better then it was when this place was VIP. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have a PHO bar. They also lacked my favorite dish, spicy eggplant. VIP use to have the eggplant and tofu separate and I really liked that. Maybe it was not available the day we were there. Just to give you a general run down, they have sushi, hibachi(«grilled to order»), salad, dim sum, soups, hot Asian dishes, & sweets. The pricing is reasonable especially if your stuffing your face the whole time your there. We really enjoyed ourselves along side our family and guests. The best part was that we didn’t have to cook or clean. SCORE! They only ask for a $ 500 deposit and a guaranteed minimum which we went far over. They even let us have a DJ and set up tables for gifts and the cake. The only problem is that is isn’t super isolated since the entrance is fairly large and other patrons can waltz right in. Other then that, I wouldn’t mind coming back since it’s pretty darn cheap and have a good variety of eats. Talk about bang for your buck!

What?!? AYCE Thrifty ice cream? Get outta town! Asian buffets = Crack to Pilipinos. The family decided to have New Year’s lunch(all day dinner for New Year’s) at Palace Seafood Buffet, which was previously VIP buffet & Grand Tokyo Seafood Buffet in previous incarnations. Not someone to pass up a buffet specializiing in Asian tastes, I was game to give this place a try & to have a new Unilocal review to boot. Seating was plentiful, with tables near the buffet stations & booths ringing the outside. There is also a private banquet area w/a flatscreen TV for private parties. The restroom was clean & tidy, but unfortunately, I spotted the work of taggers in an otherwise spotless restroom. Darn shame… The food was typical of most Asian buffets. The hibachi grill had beef, chicken, squid & shrimp for meat options w/the usual accoutrements of onions, green onions, mushrooms etc. complementing the protein. The grilling didn’t take too long, since there weren’t too many people while we were there. For the sushi station, I gnoshed on the tuna, salmon & mackerel sashimi. Mmm, I love me some Omega-3’s! These were the items I mostly ate, except for… Thrifty ice cream! Not some crappy, soft serve wannabe ice cream. The good stuff! I demolished the chocolate, strawberry, pistachio & piña colada. I even had some of the mango sherbert/sorbet. There were also 2 kinds of vanilla & chocolate chip. I pulled an Adam Richman on Palace Seafood Buffet & helped myself to around 4 – 5 bowls of frozen delightfulness. I put the ice cream away like a pro. I almost got to the point where I felt sick, but stopped at just the right time :) I can see myself coming here on a hot 100+ degree summer day just to mostly eat the ice cream. Heck yeah! Overall — food — okay Thrifty ice cream — Hooray! Considering the price, I recommend coming here for a bite to eat & a big heaping helping of the Thrifty ice cream. BTW, the fortune cookies were bland & rubbery. Which is okay for me, since I just crack them open for the fortunes inside. Just a head’s-up NOMNOMONMNOMNOMNOM

I liked it better when it was VIP Buffett even when it was called Grand Tokyo. Everything tasted too salty including the hibachi grill with squid. I’m afraid I didn’t like it. I didn’t get the same wow factor as Hibachi Buffett in Norwalk

Went for a Saturday dinner with family. They bring out foods slowly, especially those popular dishes such as crab legs, fry banana. Mongolian BBQ area is popular in there with long line waiting though, meat are steak & chicken; however, the cooking has no taste since the cook only add water but no seasoning. Sushi is simple and no taste. Sashimi is not too fresh. Overall experience is not that good as experienced in Hibachi buffet. Based on the price they charge, this place is not that worth that money though it has better meat and less thickening starch used;however, Hibachi buffet has better seasoning & taste, and has more vaireties of dishes.
