After a few days of primitive camping and very stinky feet, I had to find a camp ground with a hot shower to keep my wife happy. We found Lonesome Creek on Google and called to see what they had available: $ 15 tent sites on the beach, $ 16.20(plus tax) tent sites on their property… and yes, there were«public showers» behind their building. We drove the 10 miles around the twisting roads from Mora campground to here, and were disappointed in the layout. The tent sites were in the low area between RV spots, so they just collected all of the runoff water and were surrounded by noise and clutter. We went into the store to ask about the campsites, and they said to «check next door.» But there was no «next door» to check into. They were so unhelpful, we decided to leave… after we showered, that is. The showers were«public» and cost 25 cents for about 3 — 4 minutes of decently warm water. The rooms locked, but were only about 2 feet wide… we struggled not to touch the walls… gross. I did go back into the store for a bag of ice($ 2), and the staff was still disinterested in helping me. We left and went back to Mora for the night. I am incredibly confused by the people claiming this to be the«most beautiful spot in the world.» It is far from it. In fact, this area of the country has been our least favorite thus far. Maybe my wife and I are too judgmental or have seen too much, but we fail to see the vast amounts of beauty in a foggy, cold, grey beach covered in rocks and driftwood. On top of that, even if there was some reason to sit and watch the thousands of birds fly around and poop in the bitterly cold water, you’d have to be dressed for winter to do so, regardless of the time of year.

We didn’t stay here, but stopped in the store to get snacks and ended up getting a few other things, the staff was very nice

We are conflicted with the reservation. On one side, the views and cabins are fabulous! The staff was helpful and the rooms clean. We would give it 4 – 5 stars for its location and splender. On the other side, every time we, or friends of ours have been there, something is stolen and/or broken into. This last time we had 3 coolers stolen from our cabin, the time before that my wife was in the bath when someone broke into the cabin and she had to yell at him to leave. We are not sure we can even trust that things would not be broken into. One thing is that you are on the reservation and money is tight so do not bring anything that you would not mind having stolen. I really wish I could say better, but I cannot.

Stayed here in an RV. Staff seemed grumpy, wood was pricey, but hook-ups worked fine and the site rental was reasonable. We picked a spot right on the beach — this has to be the most insanely beautiful spot in the world. Utterly breathtaking. I’m already planning my return trip.

Came back to La Push for another visit with some friends. Had to stop in the store here to get some stuff for the cabin we’d rented right across the way. Just like last year, the people who work here were so kind! Prices are still steep but it’s the only store around for miles and they have everything you’d need to have a bonfire on the beach, a BBQ, or even to cook dinner in your cabin.
