Good, but pricey. That last part’s a given for the location. $ 13 or so for a lox & bagel(price was not on the menu). Came with 1 oz or so of cream cheese, tomato slices, red onion, and capers. Cute interior. The one employee I interacted with was friendly.

Deer Creek is the perfect place for lunch, coffee with a friend, and a sweet treat! My favorites are the Somerset sandwich(gotta love a pretzel bun!), the Thai Chicken Salad, and, surprisingly, the flourless chocolate chip muffin. Great coffee and excellent, friendly customer service. I’ll be back soon!

I cannot count the number of times I have enjoyed the pleasant ambiance, courteous service and accomodating attitude of owners, staff, and patrons. I have had patrons change tables to afford me more room for the work I needed to complete. The coffee is above average, but not excellent. The sandwiches are quite tasty and satisfying. And the breads are worth the stop. Each coffee shop in Atlanta reflects the neighborhood where it is located; Deer Creek Coffee is no different. When I desire the ambiance and particular fare of Deer Creek, I will drive from my downtown St. Louis condo for the taste and experience. I give this coffee shop cum café four stars only because I very, very seldom give anything a perfect score.

The coffee was really good, and the café has a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly. However, I’m a little wary of their lunch menu after trying the tuna salad sandwich, «The Foxboro». The description sounded delicious on the menu board, but it totally fell flat for me. It was so bland And tasteless(if you don’t count the taste of dry tuna fish). A little salt at the very least would have made a world of difference. Deer Creek also loses a few points in my book for having #6 plastic carryout containers(which you can’t recycle here). Anyway, I would pop back in for the coffee, but I’m going to think twice about ordering lunch again.

I really like this place! They have the coolest menu ever. It’s written on a black chalk board on the wall. But it’s much cooler looking than that sounds! They have SOME nice employees. Some eh aren’t so nice. But they always make my coffee super strong! I love it. I get it most Saturdays before work. A little pricey but worth it to me.

Amazing local coffee shop! Cute place, great ambiance. The owner, Phil, is really nice and accommodating. The mocha crunch muffin is phenomenal, and so are many of the other muffin choices. You also can’t go wrong with their chocolate banana bread, it’s the best of both worlds. I have not had a chance to try their sandwiches but their selection looks incredible. Coffee is great a wide selection of lattes and iced coffee, basically anything you could want out of a coffee place. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!!! :)

It is a nice cosy place. I ordered the sandwich called Somerset. The bread was pheomenoal! It comes on a pretzel bun and the sandwich itself has turkey, pesto, red peppers and cheddar. The coffee was soft and light. I do think there could have been more flavor in the sandwich though.

Excellent medium blend maple pour over coffee, fruit smoothies, and make your own custom omelette sandwiches. Paired with a ski lodge vibe and you have yourself a nice ambience for a coffee boutique.

I’m honestly not a fan of the coffee. or the employees. but the banana bread? Whoa. Totally worth stopping by for. Good place to go for a slice(or loaf) of banana bread if you’ve got a book to read or some work to do. Great atmosphere and an alternative to Starbucks if that isn’t your style. It’s expensive, and the workers aren’t always in the best moods. But seriously, the banana bread. It makes up for everything else.

Love this place for meeting friends for a chat. A little small for privacy though. Food is decent and I love the smoothies. Ambiance is a little hard and noisy. Needs some softening, but love the location.

This is the kind of local coffee shop that I really want to love, but I just can’t… The food is WAY overpriced. For $ 12 I expect more than spring mix with previously grilled, cold, chicken and some soy beans and peanuts. I guess it should be my expectation to overpay when I go to Clayton? Overall the food is ok and the coffee is descent but you certainly can find better in STL.

I’ve been coming pretty frequently lately because it is on my way to work and I prefer local business to chains. They’ve earned my repeat business with great service and yummy drinks plus pastries. I love their iced chai lattes. I’ve also tried their blueberry muffins and blueberry scones. Both are freshly made and delicious. Once I even got a warm muffin. I’m reluctant to eat scones often because they are usually dry. These aren’t. They are moist and flavorful. Makes me want to come try lunch food here, which I’m sure I will soon. Until then, my iced chai will help me wake up!

It’s nice to have a local coffee shop amid Starbucks-ridden Ladue. The atmosphere is charming, the coffee is good, and both their baked goods and menu are delicious. This is a favorite hangout of mine on the weekends and it is a good spot for a get together breakfast or lunch with friends, a quick coffee, or to do some work. A personal favorite of mine is the mini biscotti they sell, but the muffins are also delicious. I also got a nice sandwich. I have never tried the breakfast food, but it looks good.

Another great coffee spot that I recommend. Since I work in Ladue on Saturday’s I always try to find a new place to try. A few weeks ago the girls I work with and I decided to eat lunch at Deer Creek. It was a great decision. When we arrived they had just pulled a banana bread out of the oven and they were offering free samples! I love free samples! We all had to read over the menur before making any decisions on what to order and to be quite honest with you, I am not sure what I ordered that day. I remember it was a turkey sandwich, but I can’t remember the name of it. All I know is that it was tasty because I ate the whole thing. Others in the group ordered off the menu as well and we had plenty of food to pass around. There weren’t any complaints, in fact, as we were eating it was totally quiet as we were all enjoying our meals. This is pretty much like any other coffee show; they have coffee, sandwiches, and breakfast items(including eggs and potato pancakes). The service is a bit slow, but that’s what happens when 10 people order at the same time, we had to wait for the food since I am sure they have a small kitchen! No worries. Just sit back and relax because when your food does arrive it will be worth the wait! I also recommend their seasonal latte’s; I had the pumpkin one week and the peppermint about 2 weeks ago. Very tasty! Overall, this is a great little coffee spot and I will continue to go back. The atmosphere is relaxing as well. Try it.

As for the other reviews… hater gonna hate. I can’t understand how there are not more positive reviews for this awesome coffee/brunch spot. This place is almost a weekly ritual for me after a sunday workout. Come in grab a delicious iced coffee and a «make your own» breakfast sandwich. Whole wheat tortilla, eggs, pepper jack, peppers, salsa, onions, and spinach. Delicious. Atmosphere is very inviting, menu’s pretty extensive with other sandwiches and pizzas, service is friendly, and the seating is ample. Tucked away on Clayton rd, the only minus is a small parking lot, but plenty of parking around it. I’ve been here between 10 and 15 times and have never been disappointed.

Oh, Ladue. I never knew how great you were for people watching until this morning. I woke up this morning, and before I could even crawl out of bed, I knew that I needed some waffles in my belly, STAT. I remembered my Groupon for Deer Creek Coffee, and the decision was made. Off to Ladue! I arrived at Deer Creek around 10:30am, which was perfect timing; the place was about half full, making it easy for me to snag a seat. I ordered the Belgian waffles with maple syrup and butter, along with a chai latte. Service was quick and friendly, and my food arrived pretty quickly. For $ 7.95, I was expecting a bit more than four TINY(2 inch diameter) waffles, but maybe this was God’s way of telling me to chill the fuck out on all of the food. It ended up being the perfect amount of food, actually; I was perfectly satisfied(without being stuffed) at the end. And my chai latte was delicious. I haven’t met a chai latte that I didn’t love. My only regret was that I didn’t order it iced. Aside from the lovely interior of Deer Creek, the clientele made for some interesting Sunday morning people watching. Who would have thought? I saw a young woman in a skintight pink dress and leopard heels with a significantly older man I can only suspect was her sugar daddy. I spotted an older woman(like, older than my GRANDMA) wearing a tracksuit, a prada bag, and sporting an obvious boob job. And of course, there was the requisite young girl with an oversized bag containing one of those little designer dogs.(On a side note, WHY was that dog allowed inside? Gross.) I still have a few bucks left on my gift card, so I’ll be back. Would I drive out of my way to have breakfast here otherwise? I’m not sure. I’ll have to sample more of the menu to be completely certain. Hell, maybe I’ll just come back, skip the food, order a latte and people watch. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning.

Solid Neighborhood Coffee Spot. I’d like to point out for those with Groupons that you pretty much redeem it for a gift card, which is a pretty sweet deal. My hazelnut latte was pretty decent. It wasn’t too sweet, which sometimes happens at other cafes. I got the lox on an everything bagel and that was solid. It pretty much came as 2 open faced bagel sandwiches with generous amounts of cold smoked salmon and cream cheese, along with the red onions, tomato, and ginormous capers. I ended up smooshing the two together to make it one pretty monstrous sandwich. It was well worth the ~8 bucks. The make-your-own omelette sandwich, however, failed to live up to its potential. The wife ordered one on a croissant with roasted red peppers, prosciutto, pepper jack cheese, and salsa. I couldn’t even tell if the egg was prepared omelette style, it could have been scrambled for all I knew. It was pretty much egg with the other ingredients stacked on top with salsa on the side. We were hoping for a mass of awesome with all said ingredients folded into the egg. That, and the croissant could have been toasted(will have to ask for that next time…). If anything, scramble the veges and cheese into the egg and lay the meat on top… and toast the damned bread. You toasted the bagel for my awesome lox’n bagel, right? It was actually a pretty good sandwich… but my wife’s excitement was smashed pretty quickly when she saw a mostly cold sandwich in front of her. Of course, I’m too much of a pussy to say this right then and there so I hide behind this Unilocal account to speak my mind. I’d definitely come here again if I were in the area and in need of a caffeine fix. I’d imagine this would be a very solid lunch spot too.
