I stopped by this particular Fannie May store to buy chocolate as a Christmas present for my mother because she is the chocoholic in my life. We were sadly disappointed that the chocolate wasn’t any better than it was. It just didn’t seem like it was the quality of an artisanal chocolate shop like some of the other shops where I have bought chocolate for my mother. She was disappointed and so was I. So, after that, I quit buying Fannie May chocolate completely.

I’m so glad they put this Fannie May store here! You can purchase by the individual chocolate or by the box. I pick out individuals and make my own mini-assortment. They have lots of boxes of assorted chocolates in different varieties already as well, and you can often find coupons(esp. around the holidays) in the newspaper.

I should teach an interactive seminar. The title? «How to run 30+ miles a week and still struggle to zip up your jeans». Anyone interested in attending? We could run 15 miles around Forest Park and then celebrate with a huge slab of bread pudding. It will be fabulous. Anyway, after my adventure at Treats Unleashed, during which I demonstrated EXCEPTIONAL willpower by NOT eating pet treats, I popped into Fannie May for some human appropriate sweets. I’m not a huge fan of chocolate, to be honest. And I probably wouldn’t have walked in had I not seen the giant ‘Buy one cookie get one free’ sign. What’s better than one giant chocolate chip cookie? Two giant chocolate chip cookies! I walked in and looked around a bit. Lots of interesting looking chocolate, but nothing that stood out. Just the usual items you’d expect in any candy store. I went to the cookie tray, and while the cookies looked tasty, the blondies sitting next to the cookies looked even tastier. Change of plans! I took a blondie and headed to the counter to pay. «Our blondies are buy one get one free, as well!» The woman behind the counter said, with a huge smile. Dammit. I grabbed another blondie. Sigh. I paid, left, and proceeded to eat both in the car. They were delicious. DAMMIT. I’m running 8 miles tomorrow morning. Who’s coming with me?
