1st time there, had the fajitas for two very hot on the skillet and tasty. Good portion, had fried ice cream for dessert tasty. The price of wine is reasonable for a carafe. Bottom line good value for money.

I personally wouldn’t recommend even trying it… I’m from El Salvador and I know what real hispanic food taste like… They’re chips sauce taste like canned sauce and chips aren’t good. We just moved to Fl and trying to find some good spots to eat, but dwfinitely won’t be coming back here. Out of the 3 plates i ordered the chicken on the tostada was cold n my wife didn’t like her quesadilla at all and my chicken salad was ok, but not good enough for me to come back again, but don’t get me wrong the staff here is the best that’s why i can’t give it a complete 1 star rating

This has been our go-to family-run Mexican restaurant for more than a decade. Nothing fancy or pretentious and a HUGE menu. Our neighbors are the latest converts, folks who had previously avoided Mexican food because of their preconceptions. Now they go weekly and try something different almost every time.

Great place! My new favorite Mexican restaurant close to home. I grew up in Southern California & love Mexican food. This place is pretty authentic. This is our first time here will definitely be back!

Terrible. I really feel bad for one star because the staff was nice but it is the truth. The one star is for the nice waiter. Everything else we rate zero. The chips are dark because they were over cooked. The salsa tasted a little like bland spaghetti sauce with lotsa salt. The Texas Fajitas were disgusting. All the way around all four people with four meals were dissatisfied with the food! The worst Mexican food we have ever had and I have never had Mexican we didn’t enjoy.

Ordering to go food here is TERRIBLE. The menu online is different than the menu in the restaurant. The food was delicious. The person taking the order over the phone was kind, but difficult to deal with. Between the menu mishaps and the language barrier I paid for food I didn’t receive. The food we did have was very good. Dining in is the only way I’ll ever return.

Have been going here for several years when I visit The Villages. The best margaritas in town and great authentic Mexican food. The place is fun and kid friendly. The prices are very reasonable. Great for a date night too.

The food was decent. I had the fajitas with barbecue sauce, which was kind of weird. Will probably not be back, but only because there are so many restaurants to choose from in The Villages.

Ordered cheese enchiladas and the cheese was horribly slimy and had a snotty consistency. The service was okay and their guacamole was spicy and fantastic. I don’t know if I’d come here again, I’d almost rather go through taco bell.

We have eaten at El Ranchito many, many times over the past 12 years and have never been disappointed. I always order the Fajitas Texacana(steak, chicken, shrimp) which is a large platter and is always served sizzling. I’m a big eater but I always have plenty to take home for a second meal. My wife always orders the steak quesadillas; also plenty on the plate and always terrific. They always start you out with freshly prepared hot tortilla chips and salsa. We’ve never had a problem with service, they are always friendly and attentive. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in The Villages area. And cheap!

Quite good. My father and I go here at least twice a week. The lunch menu has great deals and my favorite are the beef fajitas. Never tried the alcohol selection, but the bar looks properly stocked(I’m a 13 year bar employee). Staff is attentive for the most part and quick with refills, etc. Prefer this location by far to Ay Jalisco. If you’re looking for quick service and good food. Stop over.

Fajitas for two is what we had. The portion was one of the largest I’ve seen. Tasted fine. The restaurant was dated, dirty, and had poor service. Overall they need help with what I see as a lack of enthusiasm, including the sadly prepared food. The wine served had gone bad. I knew I was wasting my time explaining it to someone that implied they only spoke three words of English. The tamales were bad. The dishes were in dreadful shape. Shredded cheese was not given with the fajitas. First time I’ve not seen that.

Best Mexican in The Villages! The frozen margaritas were great and loved the fresh salsa and chips put on the table as we sat down! Don’t waste ur time with ay Jalisco, definitely worth crossing the street to go to this place!

Good mom & pop Mexican food. The dining area and bar could stand to be updated and freshened up. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive. My giving 4 stars is being generous.

The food was so fresh and tasted amazing. The warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa were great! I ordered steak tacos and they were soooo good. Glad I found this place!

Was looking for a Mexican restaurant after some shopping near by. I usually get the usual when I eat Mexican food, which consist of a Chicken Mole dish and some Horchata to water it down. Unfortunately they did not have either of the two… Very disappointing considering Horchata is a very popular Mexican drink. Instead we got a Super Burrito. Usually a burrito would look like a giant tortilla wrapped with Beans, Rice, Meat, Lettuce inside. But this one had a Tortilla with beef wrapped inside only… Everything else was plopped on top and looked like a oversized enchilada. I got #52(forgot the name), it had a very generous portion of beef. Flavor was decent but I was not impressed. I would probably not come back here. Service was very friendly and enjoyed their welcoming staff. But sorry the food didn’t cut it.

The food was good, although not as spicy as some places. However, sitting on every table are three bottles of hot sauce with differing degrees of fire within, so if you need more spice, you don’t have far to go. Our dinners were good, but the service was somewhat lacking. We did go on Mother’s day, so we thought mid-afternoon would be a good time(between lunch and dinner – even earlier than the early supper crowd). It was not crowded and we got our chips and drinks very promptly. Then we waited and waited. In the end we got a reasonable amount of food for a reasonable price.

Good food, service and prices. Liked the salsa and queso. Burritos and tacos were pretty standard. Chicken enchilada was on point. Ask for tomatillo sauce on it instead.

I go to El Ranchito every time I visit Florida. The service is fast and friendly, the food is good, and the drinks are cheap. I absolutely love the fresh chips and salsa that they provide, but if you go you should definitely order the queso, it’s incredible!

We’ve been here several times. Great homes made food. The chicken chimi is wonderful as are the burritos and tacos. When you are seated there are warm fresh chips and the best fresh salsa. The beer is cold and the staff is friendly and attentive. Great any time.
