I miss the old Brittinghams. It had more character, charm, and a friendlier staff. The food was good with no frills. They pretty much stuck to the basics — which worked well. The new Brittingham’s seems to rely more on appearances and less on substance. The staff is generally unenthused and really slow. And the food is not that great either. In the end appearances will only go so far.

Came here to see a friend’s band. Nice beer selection with a lot of decent beers to choose from. Ordered the mushroom and caramelized onion flatbread and the pub pretzels. Both were really good. I’LLBEBACK

Came here on a Saturday night with a large group(10+) for a friend’s engagement party. Brittingham’s let us reserve some space on their outdoor deck and decorate with balloons. Drinks came out fast, bartenders were very cordial, and food was delicious. I had the spinach strawberry salad — it was a very manageable portion size and was delicious! I shared the peanut butter cake with friends — I wasn’t a big fan of the texture of the cake and I wish it was more peanut buttery. They have outdoor electric(?) firepits which turned on once the sun started to set which really set a great atmosphere. Self parking is limited — they have valet or you can park across the street at the fire station. It’s sometimes hard to cross the street from the fire station because it is a busy road without a crosswalk. Overall, had a nice time there celebrating with friends!

My first visit here was quite pleasant. I met a friend for lunch and it was a great place to sit and chat. I was impressed by the size of the dining room and nice bar. We both had salads which were good… dressing was great! I’m excited to go back here sometime for dinner and drinks!

Went to Brittingham’s for a late Sunday lunch and had a great experience. The service from the hostess to servers were great. My grand mother and I both had burgers and my mom had a arugula salad. All the food was fresh and brought out quickly. I will definitely be back.

Just like CHEERS–(the show!) My husband and I checked out Brittinghams on a week night as per recommendation from our new neighbors. Although the restaurant itself is large, we sat at the bar, which has a home town feel to it. We met Courteney, the bartender, who was a ton of fun and introduced as to the couple sitting beside us. Another friendly local couple. My Hubs was in his glory with the large craft beer selection on tap. I was happy to meet some new people, being that we are new in town. Brittinghams reminds me of our local tap room from back home. We had an appetizer, however we will be back to have dinner soon. Friendly service! Great atmosphere!

Brittingham’s was A-OK. After driving by several times since it opened, my mom and I decided to finally give the place a try for dinner Friday night. We were seated and greeted by our server right away. We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls with chipotle ketchup as a starter and it was probably the best I’ve had. For entrees, my mom had the fish and chips and I had the caprese sandwich with added chicken. Both were OK but nothing to rave about. Kudos to the waitress for coming to the rescue when my mom’s water glass toppled over, spilling water all of the floor. She was cool and cleaned it quickly and joked«can I trust you with another glass?!» Brittingham’s can trust us to visit again. Score 10% off your bill when you check in with the Unilocal app.

I loved the apps more then the actual food. The beef skewers and spring rolls were SO good. Other then that the catered food was mediocre. The clam chowder was disgusting. It was watery and wasn’t made correctly at all. be sure to only share minimal details about your dining experience here, the GM really goes above and beyond to find who you are. it’s really creepy. never again will i be coming here.

Great high-end Irish pub theme with American fare. Fun place to go for a drink with friends or to catch a live band. Wonderful spaces inside and the outdoor areas add so much to this tastefully re-built historic Lafayette Hill staple.

Our family was here for dinner on Thanksgiving. It was the best restaurant Thanksgiving dinner any of us have ever had. Most of us had the turkey entrée. There was a large portion of dark & white meat, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. The sides were generous and delicious as were the desserts. The one turkey holdout had fish & chips, and he reported they were delicious. The service was exceptional; there was no waiting for anything and our server and busers were so pleasant. We even got to take home leftovers! The prices were very reasonable, which was a definite plus. We’re making our reservation for next Thanksgiving now!

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Cheeseboard portion size was extremely light for $ 15. Ordered the recommended fried chicken sandwich, was very flavorful but small in portion size. I’ll need to visit again to try other items.

Great little place. Excellent wines!!! Nice bread board… don’t get the beetroot salad… it’s just not worth it. It’s literally 5 sliced beetroots in a sauce for $ 10 or so. That was my only regret. Nice outdoor seating. Nice service. Will be back at some point. Recommended.

I came here on Friday night for my friends rehearsal dinner and actually grew to love Brittingham’s more than the first time I was here. The dinner was on the roof deck, which has its own private bar, several tables, I think its own bathrooms, and an area for a buffet to be set up. When the weather was nice it was completely open air, and when a torrential downpour unfortunately arrived the staff was quick to zip everything up so that we were protected from the rain. It was very cozy and separated from the rest of the restaurant. Really, it was a perfect venue for something like this! The dinner included an arugula salad, some type of creamy pasta dish with mushrooms, salmon, potatoes and roasted veggies. The pasta was pretty good… it wasn’t necessarily identifiable as anything other than a creamy pasta dish, but it had good flavor.(I do almost think it was meant to be an alfredo sauce but I really couldn’t tell.) The one thing that threw me off a little bit is that the potatoes for some reason tasted a little bit like the salmon. I don’t know if it was cooked together or if they mixed up utensils. Not a big deal, though I don’t love salmon. The staff was so nice and the bartenders were so accommodating. I conjured up some drink idea with blue curacao and the bartender was totally game. She let me pull up an idea on my phone and she went ahead and made it for me! I feel like if I were a bartender crap like that would really annoy me probably. One minor downside: it seems like the only real way in and out is to go up and down the steps from outside. When it’s dark out and dimly lit and pouring rain those steps could be a little bit scary.(Maybe I’m just neurotic?) Also we had to valet park our cars and the valet kid almost gave me a heart attack when he ran over to me with someone else’s keys to double check that they were mine…

I’m usually here once a month or so, the service is always consistent, drinks resonabily priced, good selection of drinks(esp seasonal by Sly Fox, Conshy brewing, Victory and Troeg’s). Food while on average is good, recently has been a bit of a miss. I normally always get the Brittinghams Burger and the past two times it has been overcooked(I always get medium rare) and lacking one of the toppings(bacon, white cheddar, frizzled onions, lettuce or house condiment). Maybe someone was training, either way I know the quality of this place so I am going to keep going back.

Please read entire review: the resolution is at the end. I have been a regular at Brittingham’s since early 2011, before it was renovated. The new place looks beautiful. I’ve always loved the food and drinks(both before and after the revamp) and all of the barstaff/waitstaff are wonderful people. You can tell the current owners, Randy Feinberg & David Eckelmeyer, put a lot of time and effort into trying to run a top notch establishment. This year, I decided to try Britt’s on St Paddy’s Day, which is a big big event for this place. For the first few hours, I had a wonderful time. People of all ages were attending, including the parents of a good friend of mine. Here’s where the problem starts: Towards the end of the night I was having a very animated conversation with this good friend at the bar. The next thing I knew, an extremely angry, hostile man approached me and loudly said«stop grabbing onto him!» Both me and my friend attempted to explain to this person that we knew eachother, and that nothing inappropriate was going on. Said angry man walked away, muttering under his breath. Imagine my horror when I asked and was informed that this«angry man» was indeed the General Manager, John Doyle. I was quite bothered by this experience and had planned to never return to Brittingham’s again. Indeed, I have not been back since this experience. I racked my brain for quite some time to try to figure out what this guy’s problem was. The only answer I have came up with(so far) is homophobia. I am an openly gay man. The good news is that I have been informed this week that John Doyle is no longer an employee of Brittingham’s. Rumor has it I was not the only customer he treated poorly. I look forward to my return to Brittingham’s(possibly this weekend!) and I am glad to hear there is a new General Manager at this establishment. Sláinte!

Went there yesterday with a group of 7. The good — they have ample outdoor seating, and the restaurant/bar area is really pretty. The food(once it came) was also good, no complaints from me. The bad — service was unbelievably slow, and once our food did finally arrive, there were a few mistakes with the order. They had a VERY limited menu for brunch, so it’s strange the the service was still really slow. We paid most of our bill in cash, and a few people used their cards, our waitress didn’t bother to bring us change — why? She would have ended up with a HUGE tip, and just assumed that she got to keep all of the change? Rubbed us the wrong way, especially after the slow service and mistakes in the order.

I really like this«contemporary roadhouse» vibe, with a modern American menu. Various dining rooms, multiple bars and a great outdoor seating set-up(weather appropriate). Food is usually average, coming from 5 visits over past few months — but a congenial staff/bartenders and the ambiance make it a solid go to spot for casual food/drinks. Like their $ 8 Bloody Mary bar for brunch, with the locally distilled Bay Vodka, with Old Bay infusion. $ 11 Sausage Benny was ok, not bad — not great. I keep coming back, so for me — the pros outweigh the cons.

I have dined here multiple times. I typically enjoy the creative flat bread of the moment. Recently i had the Chipotle Bbq wings and they were awesome. Don’t skip the pickled veggies. Everything i have had at this place has been very good. They truly understand good food. Great place for some outdoor drinking when the weather is nice.

I’ve never been to the previous incarnation of Brittinghams, but I am definitely a fan of the new one! My friends and I have all been several times, and have already had lots of good memories. I’ve tried dinner there, happy hour, and special events like St. Paddy’s day. All have been good. My rec is to go there for happy hour, specifically on a beautiful day. There are multiple bars to choose from, and two are outside! They have nice specials: half off drafts(including a great list of layered half Guinness creations), $ 2 off glasses of wine, and I believe 25% off all liquor. I don’t believe there are any food specials. Their food menu is not large, but is varied enough. Small bites, larger apps, some entrees, and some sandwiches. Everything I’ve sampled so far has been delicious, especially the bbq chicken sandwich I had last. Messy but yummy. I’ve also always been happy with the service. Friendly, but not overly friendly or pushy, and quick. Valet is also great and complimentary. It’s a must as the parking lot can fit like 3 Priuses and that’s it. But there are lots of valet attendants and they are super quick. While it’s not a very pricey establishment, it is a dollar or two too much for me to consider going often for post-happy hour. But it’s a fun splurge for me from time to time, and always a good choice for happy hour!

I didn’t have very high expectations for Brittingham’s after reading some of the recent reviews but I’m glad I decided to check it out for myself. The exterior of the building looks fantastic and I will be sure to come back when it’s warm to hang out on the roof top deck. The interior has(2) bars and a few different sections of tables. The interior décor was just as nice as the exterior and it’s obvious a lot of thought was put in to the renovations. My friend and I grabbed two seats at the bar on the left hand side as you walk in. We were immediately greeted by Andrew our bartender. While looking over both the drink and lunch menu I had a chance to examine the inside of the bar. All the glasses had been wiped down and they didn’t have any water spots. The floor mats were spotless and everything was extremely well organized. After a few minutes Andrew took our drink orders and also advised us that their larger beer bottles were only $ 6.50! I have never seen large bottles of Rogue or La Fin Du Monde for such a reasonable price. *UPDATE $ 6.50 special for large bottles is no longer** I wanted to try both of the day’s specials. For an appetizer I had the Flat Bread of the day Sausage, Olives, Artichokes & cheese. The toppings were very flavorful but I thought the bread was a bit too thin & crisp. It reminded me more of a cracker than bread. Even though the bread wasn’t too my liking overall it was well put together. For lunch the special was a fried Oyster Po’boy with a spicy aioli. A side salad comes with the sandwich and the house dressing was awesome. I can’t remember exactly what it was but I do remember that I really enjoyed it. The Oysters were cooked perfectly, the roll was fresh and the aioli had a nice spicy kick. All of the food was made fresh and I didn’t see anything that looked like it had been frozen. There are 20+ beers on tap and the selection was good but not great. They have several bottled beers and cans available in several different styles. One of the highlights of Britthingham’s was Andrew our bartender. He was friendly, personable and extremely informed on the beer and food. Usually bartenders in the burbs aren’t quite this good and it turns out Andrew did work at a popular bar in the city. I want to return for dinner to get a more comprehensive feeling for Brittingham’s but so far I’m impressed.
