Adams Eden Camp is a wonderland in the woods. Up a sharp grade off the Cherry Valley route in Lafayette, Adam’s Eden Camp lies at a dead end that overlooks the valley. The family owned, the remote camp serves as retreat for church groups and locals alike. Aside from hiking, visitors can enjoy a ropes course, a maze, or a wading hike down falls creek. High in the trees, you can take a short zip line to a treetop ropes course. The course is extensive and offers a variety of easy-to-difficult segments to traverse. Even as beginners, my friends and I enjoyed several hours in the trees. Your ropes course experience ends with«the leap of faith:» a harnessed-in«free» jump from a platform to a bar swing. Exciting stuff! I love hiking the creek in Rattlesnake Gulf. A warm, shallow, and gently bubbling brook guides you down a glen through a series of falls. You can wade your way to one of the many waterfalls, and/or enjoy one of several swimming holes. Most of the way is in the shade of the tall walls of the glen or the surrounding trees. If you’re not up for hiking the creek, there’s a small network of trails that take you to an old hang-gliding launch, which offers a beautiful view of the valley. It’s truly spectacular in the fall! There’s a variety of fun outdoors activities to enjoy at Adams Eden! Check it out.
