Art of Smile

I have been seeing Dr. D and staff for the past several years… unfortunately, I had gone without seeing a dentist for many years because I have not had a good experience. Very sensitive to pain and as soon as I sit in «the chair» white knuckle it. I am so happy to say that Dr. D and her staff completely transformed my fear. She has placed a crown, replaced all of my old silver fillings with the snazzy and safe white filling, prescribed Invisilign Braces… and I believe even pulled a tooth (for the braces to fit).
This review is long over-​due. For the past 10-​years, I have grown to look forward to seeing Dr. D and she has always treated me with the utmost courtesy, dignity and respect. I cannot say enough positive things about her. So appreciate all she has done for me — I’ve got a straight, white smile now and am in excellent care!

This is a beautiful environment for dentistry work in the Lafayette area, however the expertise of the dentist does not live up to the décor. I had a most unpleasant, and painful experience with Dr. D. What ought to have been routine dental work turned into a painful and financial nightmare. Dr. D. Prescribed the wrong dental work for what was ailing me. I left to visit family in Southern California And experiencing severe dental pain for almost two months. After returning home, I scheduled another appt w/​Dr. D. regarding my ongoing tooth ache pain. It turned out that she had put caps on teeth that required root canals. As a result I went to see a specialized root canal dentist, who had to drill through the caps on my teeth to do the root canal. The caps for my teeth cost over one thousand dollars. To add insult to my pain and suffering she sent me a bill for additional $ 500.00 for filling the caps. I refuse to pay, for charges correcting her incompetent procedures

Art of Smile Family Dentistry is a wonderful find! My children and I have been seeing Dr. Donteneni for 5 years now, since we moved to the Bay Area. Dr. D is friendly, caring and an excellent dentist. She always gives solid advice/​recommendations and takes the time to answer all your questions. The office staff are also friendly and accommodating, working with you both in terms of scheduling and financially. The office is always neat, clean and decorated beautifully. I would highly recommend Art of Smile.
