Big Apple Bagels

My son and I have made this place a Saturday ritual, and we’ve only continued to come because my son likes their bagels. The bagels are pretty good, definitely not a true New York bagel but good for Indiana. Their Saturday service has been terrible. They typically have had one person preparing all the bagels and one at the counter. I feel terrible for this young man every time we come in because he is swamped. They need more counter help that’s for sure. Also, they only seem to have one toaster oven and they’re putting 6 sliced bagels in there at a time which means my bagel is never even remotely toasted. Fifteen minutes for a toasted bagel is just too much wait time in my book. I hope they figure this out soon !

Update– better this time. Bagels and service were great. Coffee selection was refreshed. And live music! Nice.

For the only bagel shop in Lafayette I’d really hoped for more, but sadly was disappointed.
I arrived in the morning of their reopening weekend for my first try and found them to be pretty busy which is usually a good sign. They have plenty of bagel options but not many diverse options for smear, cream cheese. The staff seemed flustered, but hey they were pretty busy.
The order: everything bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese.
It took awhile for my order to come out as they had it ready but thought it was for another order I believe. The bagel didn’t appear toasted, was cold and the quality left much to be desired. Too salty and no real flavor in the cream cheese.
Overall: I’ll just make my own.

I love the bagels! I have been to this location many times. The staff is always friendly. The bagels are amazing and I can’t get enough of the maple cinnamon cream cheese. I have yet to order any of the sandwiches. But the coffee is also delicious.

First time here. Cute place. We had the Mediterranean veg-​out with guacamole. Very tasty. Friendly service.
