So, another recall on my 07 Elantra, actually 3 of them. Was having no issues with the car, just received a recall notice in the mail from Hyundai and upon online scheduling on the Hyundai site, was notified of two more recalls. It’s the local Hyundai dealer, so it’s where I had to go, short of Indy. Had a less than pleasant experience here a few years ago on another recall where they tried to sell me a brake job at about $ 6 – 700 that I didn’t need upon personal inspection(the brake pads I «needed» had 80% of the life left and the rotors were fine, lasted 2 more years before replacing pads, 4 more on the rotors). One of my recalls was for a potential steering failure issue. My car was done in about an hour on 9÷11÷15, cleaned out and washed. No problems there, till I drove home. Steering was much tighter and unforgiving, with a tendency to pull to one side or the other, more to the right, intermittently. Called the dealer back on Monday and scheduled an appt again. Went today, 9÷18÷15. Software update checked out, mechanic noticed no drivability issues, but they say due to the«high mileage» on the car(107,000), that if I am still not satisfied, they can put a new steering column in it… for $ 2500.00. Flat out shady. If I have any other recalls, I’ll drive to Indianapolis for it. I am also eliminating any Rohrman dealerships from consideration as I’ve been looking for a new car over the last couple of weeks, even prior to this. This just cements my previous experiences with the organization.

When my A/C suddenly died in my high-end Hyundai, I immediately called the dealership, my usual pattern, from the very hot car on a July afternoon. I was told that there were no appointments at all the next day and just one the following. When that one appointment conflicted with my work commitments, I was informed that they had some staff on vacation now but would be able to help me next week. No offer of a loaner vehicle.

I never thought I would give an auto place 5 stars, but the service department here deserves it! Seth M. really helped us out when we were in a terrible jam. We can’t thank him enough for everything he did for us. They didn’t try to rip us off(gasp!) AND they were super nice to us stranded, out of towners. They even let us leave our heap of metal in their parking lot until we could get it towed back to the Land of Lincoln!
