I’m giving this company one star based on the response I received. I live in a brand new community that is being built up for the next 10 years. We have started looking at landscaping for our backyard. I called Green Landscape Solutions, and this is the response I received.

Thanks for contacting us regarding the landscaping at your home in Erie, and to let you know we are currently scheduling installations for this fall. As well we’re only taking on projects for which we’ve prepared designs and are $ 15,000 or more in value.
Our design service starts at $ 1,000 and is based on a time estimate rather than a percentage of the work, which we can use to install from, or you can have installed by others, or install yourselves. If you would like to get on our schedule for an appointment to review the project please email me some good times/​days to meet. I’m currently scheduling new appointments for the week of April 18^th –22^nd.

While I can appreciate their honesty and that they have plenty of business to be able to do this, this was still a complete turn-​off. I guess they just don’t have time for the little people like us. I will pass along the information I was given above to everyone else in our neighborhood as well. Thank you for your consideration.

Thirteen or so years ago Brian rescued our backyard from a previous bad landscaping job. He knows what plants will and will not work in our dry climate, and he has such an ability to creatively remedy what seems to be an insurmountable problem. He makes sure all his wok is done with quality and craftsmanship. All these years later, we credit the «happy place» of our backyard to Brian and his crew, and we recommend him whenever we can.

We hired Carlson & Carlson (they started as a father/​son sprinkler company in 1996) in spring 2012 to have work done on our sprinklers, as we were not pleased with the service and high cost of our current sprinkler company. I found them right here on Unilocal!Being a small business owner myself, I was looking for a reasonable, reliable «mom & pop» business. I called «Green A Landscape Company», spoke with Brian, the owner (son), who referred me to his dad Paul, who dealt mostly with the sprinklers. I called Paul later in the evening, who promptly returned my call, even though it was about 8PM at night (great service). We set up an appointment, and he showed up right on time. He and his partner de-​winterized our system, made extensive repairs, and added sprinklers to our system. He even invited me out to get soaking wet with him to show me the all the fixes and that my lawn now had 100% coverage! As Brian said, Paul is really «the man» when it comes to sprinklers – that’s pretty much all he does. They were out here for three hours so I was expecting a hefty bill, but the charge was less than my old company charged me just to blow out my system in the fall. WOW. I was more than pleased… Moving on to early October… time to have the system blown out and winterized. Paul was booked two weeks out for this service, so he had his son Brian call me – he had me on the schedule within days. Again, the cost surprisingly low! Brian did not even charge me for a return visit he had to make to finish up (totally my fault that he had to come back in the first place). I would give 6 stars if I could! I cannot afford landscaping right now, but when it is in the budget «Green a Landscape Company» will be my first call.
