It may be across from hilton but not worth crossing the street. Really basic inside and food is awful. Especially shrimp. Ordered seafood salad and shrimp must have been out of a frozen bag, crawfish tasted rubber.

If this place was in another part of the country, it would be ok, but compared to other Lafayette Cajun/seafood restaurants, this place is very sub-par. The food is not very flavorful and the service isn’t great. The atmosphere and drink selection are poor as well.

If you’re looking for the worst Cajun restaurant, I’d say you’re pretty close with this place! Food and service just poor. Obviously it’s still open because of tourists from hotel I would guess. If you are a tourist please don’t let this be your first Cajun experience there are much better just as close options. I had the crab and corn bisque which which just tasted like heavy cream no seasoning. At least there was some actual lump pieces of crab. Then followed by the stuffed mushrooms. Which were decent I guess. There stuffing is just not that great. Gf ordered a steak and I the flounder filet stuffed with a side of étouffée. Steak just tasted like the put and was over cooked. The potato tastes something like I would think McDonald’s would do. I understand it’s fish and they have bones but when you order a filet they are supposed to cut those out. Not this place, they just do it to toy with you. I had at least! A dozen bones. The étouffée tastes like a frozen one you would buy at a store in another state. So all in all I’d say pretty poor. Not to mention the 90 dollar tab for all this poorly prepared food. I work too hard to blow that kind of money on this experience. Service was just slow and bad and kind of expected after the food. She never refilled drinks and didn’t get to any of her tables in a timely manner. Ppl had to yell to her for things. I can only guess there is no actual manager around. Oh well try Popeyes you’ll get a better Cajun tasting dish from that huge chain then this place.

Excellent food and friendly attentive service. We randomly found this place because it was close to our hotel overnight as we drove from Texas to Florida. Liked it so much we ate dinner there on the way back. Some of the best fried seafood I ever had. Great catfish Acadians and sautéed crab on our waitress’ suggestion. Could tell that this was a favorite spot of the locals. Nothing fancy in the décor but comfortable space… it was all about the food here.

This place has been here for years, yet this was my first visit ever. I ordered the grilled seafood platter $ 25.63 to go. This came with a cup of seafood gumbo, grilled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, grilled fish, stuffed crab, fries and a salad. Oysters are also part of the platter but apparently mine didn’t want to be part of this meal. They were missing in action. By the time I noticed this I was home so I just let it be. Okay just as other Unilocalers have pointed out the seafood gumbo was nothing but brown water with absolutely no flavor. To my surprise the rest of the meal was pretty good. The grilled fish, shrimp, stuffed shrimp and crab were all well seasoned and cooked just right. If it’s a to go order I will check my order first. Despite the awful seafood gumbo and the item they forgot to include in my order. I’m willing to try this place again in the future, although it won’t be my first choice. Yes the décor is drab but that shouldn’t stop you from trying this place.

Had the gumbo-nothing but colored water!!! No taste with shrimp and crab claws in it. Honestly nothing else in the bowl. Yuuk. Main course-Crawfish half & half. Again not much flavor. First experience with this place. Won’t be back

Wonderful service and food. My wife and I both had the Catfish Acadiana and I had the corn and crab bisque appetizer too. Serving sizes were plentiful. Will stop by again.

How can you claim to be a seafood restaurant and have frozen shrimp! It’s only 2 hrs from the gulf coast, pay extra for fresh shrimp!!! Not great service, salads came out before the appetizer. Ask about the source if the seafood here, don’t expect it to be gulf coast fresh.

Guidry’s offers only American fish and Louisiana crawfish. That’s because it is an old school Louisiana seafood place. What that means: — the décor was put together by a coonass, probably at the same time he decorated his camp — If it’s fried, it’s good — If it’s sauteed in butter, it’s good — if it’s grilled, it’s probably OK — Do not, for the love of all that is holy, order a salad as it will be nothing but iceberg lettuce and dressing with some seafood on top It’s a good place to eat if you’re looking for Cajun food the way it’s eaten locally, but don’t expect haute cusine.

Disappointing. I walked here from the Hilton across the street and had there been any other option within walking distance I would have turned and left upon entering. The décor is remenecent of the church gym set up for a Friday fish fry. The seafood salad followed that trend of bland and unimaginative. Maybe some if the entrees would have been better but when I spend $ 22 on a salad I expect MUCH more.

Solid Cajun fare here and very convenient to the Hilton across the street. Food was excellent but the atmosphere/décor leaves a little to be desired. The dining room is large and they could have used some background music to fill the space. That all being said, I would definitely go back… the catfish«Acadiana»(smothered in crawfish étouffée) was worth the trip.

This is a very nice local Lafayette place. The food is very good. I enjoyed the chicken and sausage gumbo and the blackened tilapia this time. Being allergic to shell fish II cannot have most of the main Cajun food. The fish tasted good and the gumbo was excellent. The only downfall is the décor as it looks like an old church fellowship hall. All in all a good experience.
