I recently moved to the area and saw Kool Smiles, labeled dentistry for kids. So I scheduled my sons first check up, we went, it was okay, kinda sketchy area, and people! Then two days we were scheduled for another appointment for some fillings he apparently needed. Some of the staff were very nice, other staff were very pushy and not gentle with my sons little mouth. The first day they took x-Rays of my sons teeth. I was told he had cavities but NO dentist nor dental assistance showed me the x-Rays of my sons teeth so I never saw if he had cavities or not. I just trusted there word until I read more reviews online! Don’t trust what they say, ask to see the evidence of cavities! To top it off, outside the facility was garbage, literally garbage scattered everywhere in there parking lot and by the outside door you enter. Awful experience! DONOTGOHERE!

It was a pretty weird experience being first time patients to this clinic .I was looking for a dentist who can give my kids a cleaning for the month of April since our family dentist was fully booked until July ! So I called up a couple of dentist within Delta Dental’s network & found them! Was very happy to get a slot for ALL three kids within that week! But their set up was very different… Usually after a cleaning /dental check up especially if you’re a new client we usually get to at least meet the dentist but in this case we didn’t ??? I didn’t even see him/her or whoever did the cleaning/dental recommendations to my kids. It appears that one of my kids needs braces, the other one needs a root canal and other stuffs but these were just all read to me & by the dental tech? I didn’t even see the X-ray done? Where was the dentist ??? I asked them«isn’t she/he planning to sit the parents down & discuss these plans? especially the root canal ?» And the tech told me «we don’t do that here«wow ! So there, it was just a different experience, but the clerk was quick enough to inform me that she can schedule that root canal for my 5 year old in two days! … Uhmm not so fast ! I don’t think so …

So I made an appointment for a week in advance and they leave me two voicemails the day before.(both within 20 minutes of each other) One is a reminder of the date, but the second is a cancellation. I call and one receptionist tells me the appointment is still on the schedule, he then puts me on hold and when he returns he proceeds to asks me some odd questions about medicaid and *whoops* the appointment disappears. I get a lady on the phone a few minutes later who has little explanation for the cancellation except to say the next free spot is two MONTHS later. Something catastrophic must have happened to all those poor available dentists while my insurance was reviewed on hold! If your family has medicaid I would steer clear, this is obviously one of those«sympathetic» rackets that loves the exposure but will gladly bump you for a better insurance plan. Even if my assumption is wrong and all 20+ dentists in this office managed to disappear into an abcess until Spring, the very least this place is guilty of is having zero communication or professionalism. Not«Kool» in the slightest… a name change is in order.
