I love Mary Lou Donuts. I grew up on Long Island until I was almost 21, where there was a bunch of other donut places and then I moved out here, where there aren’t as many. I’m not a big donut eater, but Mary Lou’s is definitely the place where everyone goes on Saturday mornings. The only thing that is a little inconvenient, is that they don’t take credit or debit cards. It’s a small little place, but they make good donuts, good prices & the ladies that work there are really nice. I just got donuts this morning and paid $ 7 for a dozen. Definitely worth a try. And if your going on Saturday, since they aren’t open on Sunday, make sure you get there early because there is usually a line and they do run out of stuff sometimes.

The place is small and yes, the old regulars stare at you to the point where it’s incredibly uncomfortable but I’m going to keep coming back for these amazing doughnuts. If you like a doughy bite, these are perfect! They’re the softest doughnuts I’ve ever had and very reasonable prices. Not the prettiest though. The staff is friendly, but remember that it’s cash only!

I don’t really understand the considerable local hype about this place. Their cake donuts are fine, but, to me at least, indistinguishable from many of the mediocre chain donut places like Dunkin. Their apple fritters are my favorite donut here; they’re a step above average but not anything mind-blowing. And their yeast donuts like the plain glazed are just not that good. They are too chewy, don’t have enough glaze and taste stale even when fresh.

O. M. G. As good as donuts get!!! Get there early, cuz they DO run out of certain types. And they’re closed Sunday, which sucks, but okay, people need to rest. Everyone in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area recognizes this place as the #1 donut spot. If you’re coming in from out of town, definitely stop here!

The donuts are incredible. The building IS small, but the quality of the product is worth the cramped quarters. The French Crullers will make you believe in God. My wife loves the apple fritters and then there’s everything else that I never buy because I can’t get passed the French Crullers. I guess what I’m trying to say is… buy some French Crullers.

What is more local and traditional than Mary Lou donuts on a Saturday morning? Three words: worth the wait. You will inevitably wait in line(either in your car in the drive through or in their shop), but once you take your first bite of warm flaky freshly made donut you will forget all about the wait! There isn’t a bad apple in the bunch regarding their selection. They’ve got all the classics here. No, you’re not going to find trendy pixi stix covered donuts like some other places, but that’s not what you wanted anyway! Glazed, blueberry cake, tiger tale, apple fritter, iced with sprinkles… are you drooling yet?! CASHONLY so make sure you’ve hit the ATM!

I love Mary Lou doughnuts! It’s a great place to get best and cheapest doughnuts. If you can get passed the creepy, possibly racist old guys who are constantly staring at you until the moment you walk out the door then you will have a pleasant experience.

Best doughnuts in Greater Lafayette area hands down! Can’t go wrong with the yeast doughnuts glazed. It’s so cheap there is no reason to go everyday.

The atmosphere was a bit weird — really cramped quarters and a lot of old guys sitting around staring, BUT the donuts are incredible so get a dozen to go.

I have been eating Mary Lou donuts for as long as I can remember. Of course, these days I branch out beyond chocolate icing and sprinkles as my donut of choice, and there is plenty to choose from. My standbys are the crème horn(another childhood favorite), pecan roll, and apple fritter, but maybe not all at the same time and definitely with a glass of milk. The tiny A-frame is indeed always packed, leaving me to recommend coming early or at an ‘off’ time(think lunchtime) unless you want to be waiting out the door without somewhere to sit. That said, be sure to stick around and it in if you can. I think it really adds to the experience. The folks behind the counter may be a little on the quiet and slightly brusque side, especially when it comes to asking which donuts they have. I’m always under the impression that the staff think customers are telepathic or psychic and should just know. But I can take that as long as it comes with a delicious donut and a cold glass of milk.

Best donuts in the area! One less star because the yeast cruellers we got were soggy and underfried. Really, it should be more like 4.5 stars, but halves aren’t an option. Morning rush is nuts! Also, try the twists and tiger tails.

I am from the east coast. City of too much coffee and accompanying baked good. That being said, the donuts here are amazing. Light, moist and rich. Make sure to try their take on blueberry cake and Boston cream. The establishment is a mom and pop run store that even has a drive through. When you go in they have an old school horseshoe counter that some of the older locals sit at and gab. Love. These donuts are obviously not low fat and not good for you, but when it tastes that good, does it matter!!! Update: 10÷27÷14 I get donuts from Mary Lou’s proBably once a month. The new favorite is their huge apple fritters. The size of your head and just wrapped in yummy goodness. The apples are not huge chunks like other places, Which i like. It’s a major sugar high and proB equals 5 meals in calories, but is something to splurge on with a huge cup of coffee. I go Saturday mornings around 9am and the line is looonnnnggg, but the donuts fresh and warm.

Amazing. Cheap. Donuts. The apple fritters are my favorite, with the simple glazed being a close second. 7 bucks for a dozen fresh made, delicious donuts is a steal. But get there early or your favorites will be gone.

Mary Lou’s is adorable. The doughnut shop is exactly what you would picture a doughnut shop to be. There always seem to be older gentlemen sitting around the counter eating doughnuts and drinking coffee probably talking about the good old days. Love that. The doughnuts are all really good and SOCHEAP. Definitely a guilty pleasure for when I need to treat myself. The only thing about May Lou’s is it isn’t open on Sunday. Kind of odd for a doughnut shop, but oh well!

Great donuts, and I was surprised I had never heard about them before. The restaurant is really old, the staff isn’t always the nicest, and there isn’t a set price.

Mary Lou’s is a solid donut shop. Not much more to say. I wish they had a West Lafayette location closer to campus. And I wish they were open on Sunday.

I was recommended to this business from a friend who lived around the area. These are by far the largest, cheapest, and most delicious doughnuts I have had!

Doughnuts are very good and reasonably priced. Customer service is not so good staff normally seems rushed and bothered if you need a moment to choose from their marvelous selection of doughnuts. Today was different in a good way as the young lady serving us was friendly and efficient.
