Best Barre class I have ever taken! Sore in places I have never been sore! Waistline is smaller and I have dropped 2 Jean sizes!

Well, I thought I should review this studio for the guys out there. These classes are amazing… seriously. I’ve been into fitness all my life and have been a very serious athlete for many years, know all about proper positioning, how the body reacts to various kinds of workouts and yet was humbled to walk out of Diana’s class having learned some new things. As a guy, I was reluctant to take a class that was comprised mostly of women but, in the end, who cares? The class helps my running, cycling, weight work. I’m a believer and really think all guys should give this method a try.

A few months ago I did a search in Unilocal to find Pilates studios in Lafayette and Walnut Creek. I tried a few classes at Nextbarre in Lafayette, and since then I’m a regular at the studio (and so is my husband!). Leslie has done a great job creating a diverse team of instructors, each one has a different style and sets of exercises. All of them are great! I particularly like Leslie and Julie, their classes are challenging and fun. I always leave wanting to come back again!

Have been to this studio a couple of times now and it is top notch. The instructors are great, sometimes hard to understand with the music, especially since I don’t know what I am doing yet, but the instructors take the time to come around and help you with adjustments.
Locker room and shower are clean, albeit tiny.
All in, I will be back!

Excellent instructors, great workout everyone should try it at least once you will be hooked on Barre. Instructors are very helpful in an nice way. Fun workout love it!!!

Nice, open, clean studio. I’ve only taken the barre class — the reformer space looks tiny. I’ve liked all of my instructors, it’s the standard barre class, nothing new or different about it but it’s still a good workout.

I came here for my first Barre class this week. Upon arrival, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m not usually a group exercise fan.
I decided to take the Barre Basics class, seeing as how I had now idea what Barre was all about. The staff greeted me, and were friendly and nice. The facility seems newer, and was modern and clean.
Nicky was the instructor, she was enthusiastic and motivating, without being annoying in a too perky sort of way. During the class, she was even able to stop by and help me reposition if I wasn’t doing something correctly, all without making me feel like a loser.
The class was populated, but not crowded. The equipment provided was new and clean. None of the women in the class were catty or snotty (a real concern before my arrival).
I wasn’t sure how much of a workout I’d actually get, and I was pleasantly surprised. I feel like I was able to use muscle groups my regular exercise routine doesn’t. Altogether a great experience!

I visited this studio to take a Pilates class with Alli McGinnis. It was my first time taking a class on the reformer machine and with Alli’s patience and easy going personality I felt very comfortable going through all of the movements.
I am on my feet all day at work and am constantly dealing with lower back pain and shoulder pain. I loved that Alli’s technique fused cardio, strengthening and stretching… in one hour! Very efficient and surprisingly effective. Two days later and I’m still feeling muscles that I didn’t know I had in my stomach and back! You know that feeling that let’s you know you actually worked your muscles in a new way and didn’t just waste another hour on the treadmill?
I’ll be back.

I made a «back to shape» commitment to myself two months ago, and have been to a NextBarre class at least every other day since. I have old knee and back injuries, and NextBarre is helping me to get back in shape after several years of neglect. It’s a tough workout and doing a tremendous amount to help me built strength and flexibility.
I attend the NextBarre and NextBarre Basics class, which are often indistinguishable. I have not yet gotten the courage to try NextBarre Cardio, but I hear it’s quite the workout!
The instructors and owners are really great ladies and have created a beautiful, supportive atmosphere.
I have only a few bits of constructive feedback:
— They could really use a NextBarre intro class. As a new person (and one really struggling to keep up with the exercises), I could have used a few classes – even once a week – targeted to newbies. If you need it, speak up and ask for personalized help from the instructors, particularly the awesome studio co-​owner, Nicky. They’re really great at giving help if you ask.
— Some of the younger instructors have a tendency to ignore the beat of the music in their exercises. I find this makes it hard for me to follow along.
Overall, this has been such a resoundingly positive experience doing something very hard. I thoroughly recommend this studio.

next barre has really helped me to become stronger, fitter and more energetic. the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and always available to help. i have also started the Reformer classes and am amazed at how much i have improved in my form and most importantly posture. i have really benefited from combining both the barre and reformer classes. thank you, Diana, Nicky and Leslie!

Hands down the best barre class out there! Totally different ab and arm workout than D.M. Or B. Method. Start with basics, Leslie is great. She’s not too fast or advanced. Let them know that you are new. Week eight (3days a week) and I am noticing definition in my arms, stomach and butt. So much so that my friends are joining. Love!

I am addicted to this place! They have a 45 min class at lunch that if I could I would love to do every single day. Nikki and Leslie are amazing teachers who guide, correct and adjust your form to make sure you are getting the best workout. The results are amazing as well. In just a month of doing the classes, my body is more defined and sculpted. I am so glad I found this little gem of a studio.

Nextbarre is a place with smart instructors, professional staff, very clean and pretty facility, and supportive fellow-​clients. I’ve never been a «class person,» but Nextbarre changed that. Don’t let the perfect bodies on their site keep you from trying a class. It is a supportive environment of clients just wanting to get this awesome workout done and get on with their day. There is a mixture of fitness levels. Plus, the addition of the Pilates reformer is awesome. Leslie Jerge is one of the most qualified Pilates instructors in the area. She has a master’s in dance education, 15 years of Pilates teaching and practicing, and a gift for cueing clients so they understand the movements.

I love this place and like others state, it is so easy to get hooked! The atmosphere is fairly intimate and welcoming and most importantly, the instructors are amazing. I always get a good workout and feel like I’m really sculpting those important places women want to be toned — abs, arms and legs. The teachers are awesome — great at correcting your form and helping you achieve the most out of your workouts. Just a friendly, inviting place! There is a reason why all of the reviews are so great — they’ve earned them!!!

With the addition of the Pilates studio and continual evolution in the barre classes, NextBarre tops all other workouts and it’s fun. Diana and Nicki have been so attentive to the business and truly listen to their customers! This is something special!

Love the new private Pilates Studio. With a group or one on one, this is the perfect option for my workout! Leslie is amazing!

This is a review for the Pilates Reformer classes at Nextbarre taught by Leslie. I am new to Pilates and couldn’t be happier. Leslie is amazing. She explains things very clearly, changes up the work-​outs each class, challenges you, and tailors each exercise to the individual’s fitness level. Apparently, Leslie has been teaching Pilates for many years, and it shows. She knows her stuff. There are 4 brand new, top of the line reformers in the studio. Everything is very clean and organized. I highly recommend her classes for beginners and experienced Pilates clients.

Nextbarre is my first choice work-​out, but it does more than outer fitness. Coming through a long period of grieving after losing my husband, this class helped me find my core strength not only physically but emotionally as well. Our community is well knit with wonderful women supporting each other. You will find the best instructors at Nextbarre and you will also make amazing friends! This an exercise studio that nourishes more than your body.

I love Diana, her method, and how completely supportive she is! I have no need for any other membership.
All my life I’ve wanted to be toned head-​to-​toe. I’ve done triathlons, been a member at multiple nice gyms, ski regularly and love fitness in general.
However what I’ve learned is that cardio alone really doesn’t do much — building a toned frame top to bottom sets you up for better condition for all sports, and burning calories (if that is ones goal) more effectively. And as I age (I’m not in my 20’s!) this type of exercise makes you strong, lean and the stretching is amazing — running is no longer for me since I don’t want to deal with knee and leg injuries. But I have not given up being in great shape.
Now what makes Diana’s program amazing is she has the freedom to make improvements to classes as she sees fit — and since the conversion to her own studio, I feel the difference — my abs are stronger and I feel more challenged. She listens to what you like/don’t like and is always striving to make a better customer experience. She has taken the barre program to the next level!
I’ve been going to Diana for 2 ½ years now, and since the conversion to NextBarre, I am re-​dedicated to her program. She’s also a fabulous instructor.
I’ll be here for years to come!
