I went to Dr Starr for a Voluma Lift. I’m very glad that I did. My results are excellent. The procedure was fast and painless with no side effects, bruising or swelling. ‘Im very happy with results.

My cataract surgery was made more complicated by my age (72) and glaucoma. I wanted to find a surgeon who had lots of experience with this combination, and I was fortunate to find Dr. Starr.
Her office staff at both locations are friendly and competent, and Dr. Starr was very detailed in her examination and took significant time to explain the surgery and my options.
The surgery was quick and easy, with no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I was awake through the entire procedure. My vision started to improve the next morning, and within a few days my vision was wonderful.
I’m so happy to have found Dr. Starr. I will continue seeing her for my ongoing glaucoma care.

The best part about Dr. Starr’s office was the treatment they gave me when I passed out.
I have a weird time with that part where they numb your eyes and then prod you. Like, look at that sentence. That sounds very scary. But, anyway. I told the woman who was examining me before the doctor came in that I was going to pass out and everyone went into action. It was amazing! I had an ice pack on my head from the very sweet receptionist and water in my hand when I awoke! Wow! As someone who has passed out in several locations, this is the best care I have ever received. The receptionist told me stories while I recovered and everyone gave me lots of water and helped me walk (even though I was all better by the time I was allowed to walk out). They called my boyfriend to pick me up and made sure he came in and got me.
The doctor seemed very educated and seemed like she genuinely wanted to help me. She gave me lots of options on what do and why my vision might be fading.

In my opinion, she is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, competent, professional, and trustworthy. And on top of all that, I’ve found her to be friendly, caring, compassionate, and kind. She has, thus far, helped me immensely in diagnosing and healing some serious eye issues. I feel so fortunate and so grateful to have found her and to be one of her patients. I recommend her highly and unreservedly.

Without a doubt Dr. Tara Starr and Dr. Tom are the kindest most caring physicians I have ever come in contact with. I have a serious eye condition that Dr. Starr manages perfectly, and my recent cataract surgery could not have gone any better. I now have perfect vision.

Monday I had an appointment at Dr. Tara Starr’s office and thought I would make a brief comment about the professionalism along with the genuine warmth and sensitivity that Dr. Starr consistently displays. I just retired after 40 years as a law enforcement officer. Over the years, I have developed a critical sense and reasonable assessment of others. I have been a patient of Dr. Starr’s for close to ten years. During that time frame she also performed my medically necessary eyelid surgery. Her surgical procedure was flawless and has resulted in much positive feedback. Dr. Starr continues to have my ultimate respect for her skills, care and empathy. I too have waited a considerable time period, but the wait was worth it. I have also spoken to her staff and find that they understand the demands of a busy practice, and sometimes feel pressure that such an environment creates, but fear of their boss is not part of that pressure…

I have been seeing Dr. Starr for many years after my optomotrist said my eye pressure was too high. She is a very caring and thorough doctor. She was and is genuinely concerned about my eyesight and eye health. In the past year she had been concerned about cataracts in both eyes. I finally agreed to have them both done. The surgeries both went extremely well in April and my vision has improved immensely! I would recommend Dr. Tara Starr to anyone needing an opthamologist in the Bay Area.
