Trustworthy Appliance Service

Will never call again. $ 59 service call to come out, $ 30 trip charge. $ 110 labor charge. For what you ask?
To install a $ 3 fuse marked up to $ 22
Total time to repair. 10 minutes
Total charge. $ 221
$ 221 lesson learned. Trustworthy? I think not

I wish I could review the office team separately from the technician that worked with us. The office team was very friendly and easy to work with. I was able to set up the appointment and pay over the phone very easily.
The technician, however, was either dishonest or just having a bad day. We have two refrigerators in our kitchen. The technician was clearly told which unit to work on. He even commented that he wouldn’t be able to work on that unit because it was «off». Well, it is «off» because it doesn’t work. Instead of trying to turn it on, he decided to go to the other refrigerator and tried to troubleshoot that one. He diagnoses that my functioning refrigerator is not working and needs to have the freon charged. He would like to charge me $ 232 to fix a refrigerator that works. I tell him we are not having any problems with that fridge and everything is cold. He responds.. well, the motor sounds like it is running slowly. Hmmm, I thought you said the freon was low.
So, he finally goes to the actual non-​working fridge. Tells me it needs freon (which seems to be the standard answer, regardless of the problem). I tell him that is fine and please charge the freon. That is all I wanted him to do anyway. Then he tries to charge me an extra $ 40 to look at the working refrigerator, that I never asked him to look at. I was very clear in my communication. He chose to not listen and then expected me to accept the responsibility for his mistake.
Overall, I horribly disappointing experience. Unfortunately, they are the only certified service company for Sub-​Zero. If we have problems again, I will be contacting Sub-​Zero, to request help directly. I just don’t trust that this company wouldn’t make unwanted repairs. Perhaps, he thought that, as a female, I would just listen to whatever he said and believe him.

Trustworthy Appliance has serviced my dishwasher, oven, and refrigerator over three separate occasions. I was pleased with their work and professionalism every time, but I recently went to another appliance repair service in town, hoping for a lower rate. Man, I had such a lousy experience with that other service that it made me regret switching from the ol’ tried and true. It’ll be Trustworthy next time, and every time.
