Water Heater Express

I called Water Heater Express to look at my water heater. The water heater was not working, no power, no fans, no pilot light. Aaron (sp?) from Water Heater expressed showed up and proceed to call manufacturer of the water heater. On the phone it was determined it was the gas valve/​Thermostat control module that need to be replaced. Upon asking how much it was going to cost to replace the module, he said it was $ 400! Mind you, that the module was free from the manufacturer and the entire water heater with installing costed me $ 600.
After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I asked for a discount. he said there was a $ 50 coupon that he could apply. At this point I felt I had no choice so I told him to come back when the part was shipped.
I decided to google the gas valve replacement and found several tutorials on how to replace the gas valve. It was a simple 20 minute repair, but with necessary precautions about the gas line. Even though it was a simple repair, I still wanted to help the local business. I decided to call Homer, the owner. After explaining the repair and asking for a lower price his response was:” Why don’t you fix it yourself!”.
Well, Homer, I did. For the cost of a gas leak tester, gas sealant and 35 mins I have hot water again. I did not get robbed $ 400.
I would not trust these people as far as I can see them. They are not the most honest people and are just trying to rob community. STAY AWAY!!!

Water heater express has knowledgeable technicians that solve the problem quickly and correctly the first time. I’d definitely call them again for any plumbing problem I have. Very professional and trustworthy.
