If you’re craving crock pot made slab of ribs, come here. If you’re looking for real barbecue, I’d strongly suggest going elsewhere. The sauce that’s on the ribs was sweet, no personality but sugar. The ribs themselves were NOT smoked, but rather oven baked. This is, sadly, a poor excuse of barbecue. I’m confident the Ruby Tuesday down the block would have offered a better product. I’m suspicious as to the validity of the positive reviews, or at the very least, if those reviewers have ever had real barbecue…

Moved back to LaGrange after being gone for years and found this place located in what many years ago was the building my favorite BBQ(Coleman’s) was located in so we thought we would give it a try. Should have known when i looked around and almost every person in the building was eating catfish. We ordered 2 lbs of chopped pork, a slab of ribs and 2 pints of beans to take home. When we asked for sauce for the pork the girl said«the pork and ribs come with our mild sauce» so we figured that would be good enough. When we got home we opened the items and at first thought they had given us 4 pints of beans… the chopped pork was literally floating in a thin, orange sauce and was completely void of any smoke flavor or even any color or outside meat or fat. It was pure white chunks of tasteless roasted pork swimming in a sauce that none of really cared for so we rinsed it off in a strainer, added some KC Masterpiece and pushed thru to keep from wasting it. After rinsing all the sauce off the pork there was not quite a pound of meat in our«2 pounds of chopped pork». The beans were basically canned pork ‘n beans that had ground beef and a few bell peppers and a LOT of sugar added. Pretty bland and again no smoked meat at all to give them that bbq flavor. The ribs i would say are done in either a crock pot or boiled and then«sauced and tossed» on the grill. Again, no low&slow smoke flavor at all, and covered in a sweet but bland sauce. Definitely skip the«BBQ?» here. Maybe all the folks eating catfish already knew this… and now we do as well.

Alright. I feel like we have been Unilocal duped. I thought wow! So many stars this is going to be some AMAZING Georgia BBQ. It’s Georgia. BBQ. And it was not great, at all. The coleslaw texture was super gross, like a sweet mush. Between our group the best thing was the grilled cheese sandwich. We got the combo plate, pork plate and bbq sandwich, and all of us were disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. I gave it the extra star because of the location and price. If you’re looking for good ol’ southern bbq with some kind of wow, this isn’t the place.

Very tasty. Friendly folks. A little sweet for me and I could have done without the unexpected pickle on my BBQ sandwich but I’ll eat there again. Cole slaw was nicely shredded and tasty, I added a thin layer to my sandwich. Yum.

Mediocre BBQ. For the price range, it isn’t bad, however I’ve been to cheaper places that give you more food. Ordered the mix combo plate that came with chicken, ribs, and BBQ pork. Sorry to say I was let down by the BBQ pork because it came in chunks, and you can tell that it wasn’t pulled. The ribs were slightly dry and only had a faint smoke flavor. The chicken was the only thing that was surprisingly good. It could have had more smoke flavor and been more moist but after being disappointed by the pork, the chicken tasted much better. The BBQ sauce was just okay, a bit on the sweet side, definitely needed more tang and a spicy kick. One thing I really did not like was the slaw because it looked like it came out of a food processor, and I like having good texture and bite in my slaw. Also, the toast was only toasted on one side. What’s up with that? My recommendation if you want to taste more smoke flavor in the BBQ is take your order to go and eat at home because the smokiness of the restaurant drowns out the smokey taste of the meats on your plate.

Lunch special is quick, inexpensive, and tasty. The sauce they put on the BBQ pork is not very good; it’s some type of mustard based sauce. The rib sauce, however is very good.

Ribs, fish, and coleslaw are very good. By far the best service in town.

Got the BBQ sandwich plate. Very tasty! The BBQ has their secret sauce on it, delicious. Coleslaw came out first like an app, it was shredded very fine and I was afraid it would be too mayonnaisy but no, very good flavor. The fries were good, nothing special and I did not finish them because I was full. Very friendly service and I love the southern kitchen comfort feel. I will return!

My wife and I eat here often. The food is consistent and great. A five star restaurant would wish for service as good as that at Rogers Barbecue.

Went there last night for a late dinner after Trammell’s totally let us down. Good food at a great price coupled with excellent service. Jackie is a Peach!
