Me and the lady were wandering around the streets of Laguna Beach this weekend and stumbled across this store. I wasn’t sure what to make of it when I first walked in, but as I looked around I became more and more fascinated with their offerings. Basically, this store offers a variety of things for purchase: high-fashion clothing from Spain and Japan, furniture, bric-à-brac, collectibles, and more. What makes this store unique is that everything that is on offer is environmentally-friendly, locally-sourced, organically-grown, recycled, artisanal, or all of the above. I was totally impressed with the variety of unique and interesting things they had for sale, including hand-made jewelry, fashionable clothes of organic cotton or bamboo, and even living-wall planter systems. We ended up purchasing some really unique clothing items, as well as some novel origami cards. The proprietor was extremely nice and very helpful, happily answering all our questions, chatting with us, and making excellent recommendations. They have only been open since December, but she was thrilled that their concept was taking off in popularity, and they are already considering adding a second store in Los Angeles. For any of you interested in sustainable shopping from a thoughtful and customer-focused boutique, I highly recommend stopping in at Green Cube and having a look around.
