St. Michael’s Books & Gifts

A cute little Catholic Bookstore in a nondescript strip mall, the best way to find it is by locating the Coco’s restaurant on the corner of Lake Forest and Avenida de la Carlota and pull in to that center. St. Michael’s is located right behind it, adjacent to another bookstore.
They have a decent selection of books, prayer booklets and prayer cards. I find the gift selection is just «ok» for Rosaries, medallions, Crucifix’s and figurines. Good selection of children’s gifts and books. The selection at St. Joseph Catholic Books and Gifts in Anaheim is much, much more varied. But it it nice to have a Catholic bookstore in South O.C.
The shop is very clean and organized. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is helpful and friendly.

This is my favorite Catholic book store. They always have a really good selection of spiritual reading. I’ve gone there for Catholic marriage books, biographies of Saints, children’s books for my goddaughters, daily meditation mini books.
Their children section is really really good and has hardcover and paperback books, dolls, DVDs, tapes etc. If you want to catechize your children at home, they have the tools there to help you.
There is a spanish books and kids section too.
Also, a great destination for religious medals, art, baptism and First Holy Communion gifts, saint statues, rosaries and decorations for your house.
It sits kind of hidden in the back of a plaza behind Baja Fish Tacos and there is a Shell station in the far front corner of the mini plaza. It’s across the street from the Carl’s Junior, just off the Lake Forest exit.
If you’re Catholic, I recommend supporting this store as it is run by a good family.
