Castles by Karch

It seems more than a coincidence that all but two of my favorable reviews vanished like a mirage on the desert sand when I declined to advertise on Unilocal. And my responsive posts to the two unfavorable reviews which I had disputed (from people who never actually took my classes) also disappeared. The only reason I even found out about any of this was because someone who posted a favorable review that got deleted called to let me know it was gone.

Just learned how to build a sandcastle with Karch and the Natural History Museum at Granada beach in Long Beach. Awesome experience. I’m ready to enter a contest!

Ray is an awesome teacher and my friends & I had so much fun learning how to build sandcastles. It is not as easy as one thinks! Will definitely book him again for future events.

We found Ray on several sand castle websites and were impressed. we contacted him via email and worked everything out for him to coach 25 – 30 people on how to build a great sand castle for a birthday party. i sent him a deposit check via fed-​ex 4 days beforehand and thought we were ready to go. i didn’t hear back that he got (or didn’t get) the check, so we emailed him to be extra sure. he waited a day, and then said he never received it. we are now less than 24 hours before our birthday party for our 6 year old and ray told us that he never got the check, did not reach out to us to let us know he didn’t get it, and then he booked another gig without so much as an email to let us know. if we had not proactively reached out to him to confirm, we would have been waiting for him on the beach without a word from him. i tracked down the fed-​ex tracking number afterwards (see below) and in fact it was delivered on time well beforehand. what a jerk. we made plans, sent the money, he got it on time, and then he cancelled last second leaving us hanging. we found a replacement who was great and made it clear that Ray has cancelled last second on many different occasions creating a big mess. Evidently, a lot of his business comes from angry people who got dumped by ray last second. don’t waste your time or money by contacting this guy, what an ahole.
