Daryl Millard Gallery

After finishing our delicious Ululani shaved ice, we wandered into the Daryl Millard gallery, at first drawn in by his beautiful landscapes. There was something different, unique about them. Daryl captures an essence of Hawaii in these paintings that can’t really be put into words. Upon entering the gallery we saw his abstract works and were instantly in love. It was hard to pick just one. The life and vibrancy of each work was palpable. We loved the color, the movement, the thick impasto texture. We knew we had to take one home… The problem was which one! Vanessa and Daryl were wonderful in helping us choose, in fact, they are just wonderful people in general! Learning about them and their story made taking one of Daryl’s works home even more special. They took care of all the shipping details and our painting arrived just a couple of days after we did. We could not be happier and love having a constant reminder of the beautiful island of Maui and the beautiful people who live there!

This was one of the first galleries we visited in Lahaina, and had an amazing experience with Vanessa, aka Mrs Millard. She was very patient with us as we were trailing two kids and trying to look at art at the same time, needed to learn about the art buying process and were on a budget. She walked us through the different pieces and also how they were priced, reprints vs originals, the artist’s thought process, etc. Even distracted our 6 year old giving us a chance to look through the various paintings.
We loved Daryl’s style and the different directions he was exploring with landscapes on one side and more modern art on the other. We didn’t end up buying on our first visit to the gallery, but the work and her helpfulness stuck with us and we returned the next day to buy a piece. She negotiated a great price with us including shipping, and we’re now the proud owners of a Daryl Millard!
She’s been very communicative during the shipping process as well, emailing us when the painting shipped, and tracking its delivery and emailing us when we missed the FedEx person.
Overall, a great painting, and a wonderful purchase experience!

Walked into the gallery for the first time Friday night and wow — a wonderful experience. My mom purchased a print and is so happy to have found THE perfect piece for above her fireplace. I found one and will be back to get it when I save enough. The best part of the night … NO high pressure sales, thank goodness!!.I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful pieces with a warm, almost vintage feel. We are leary of buying art when we travel, but this gallery was impeccable. From point of sale, to packing and delivery they were true professionals. We were contacted multiple times to ensure the receipt of our painting went without a hitch; A refreshing difference from other galleries on the island. We will definately buy more pieces.

My husband and I had a very pleasant experience when dealing with the Daryl Millard Gallery. We bought a beautiful painting of a Lahaina sunset as we’ve been to the area many times amd this image captures the great memories we bring back to the mainland after each visit.
