Honoa-P-Lani, Pineapple Lager was great. IPAs were also very good. It is still early for this brewery but I think they will be giving Maui Brewing a run for their money soon. Tip: hit up Ono Taco in parking lot next door to add some tacos to your beer tasting.

Great small brewery atmosphere, friendly staff and really good beer! When we vacation we brewcation by visiting 5 – 10 breweries on any single trip. We’ve been to Portland, Austin, Seattle, NorCal, Minneapolis, and Denver/Boulder several times. So this trip we took a day and visited the 2 breweries that Maui has to offer. We like the local feel and brews at this brewery much better! There’s something about an open garage door and giant Jenga that makes us feel at home. Try the Pineapple Lager, it was our favorite!

Lots of great beers! Worth a stop to just sample a flight of beers. There’s no food but you are able to bring in meals or snacks.

I love the pineapple lager. Owners are very friendly. Always 10 beers on tap! I highly recommend a stop for a pint or two and talk story time.

Not great. Dirty bathroom about 100 ft away down an industrial alley. Bartender was not friendly and had no knowledge of beers outside of the style. We could read on the board what style they were. Nowhere near the beach. Beer was meh. Pineapple lager was unique. Swag is meh.

Great beer. Terrible customer service. The bro behind the taps might have well have said, «why are you bothering me with your interest in my beer… and your money?». Direct quotes from the 3 minute interaction: Q: «Some ppl in my family don’t drink beer(gluten allergy), do you serve anything else? A: «No. We’re a world class brewery; we serve beer… and root beer from Maui Brewing Co.» Q: «So do you brew?» A: «I homebrew.» Q: «Oh, ok, I was curious if you were involved in the brewing here(hint: trying to talk about your«world class brew») A: «It would be literally impossible for one person to do all the brewing and selling; it takes two. One person does all the brewing, and I do the selling. I currently work 70 – 80 hours a week; I would have to work 160 hours a week if I did the brewing… I’m not interested in that.» IF you come, come for the beer. Be prepared to be dismissed by the vexed dude behind the taps.

As they say, some of the best spots are the ones that make you drive in lovely circles like an ar-tard because you can’t seem to find the DAMNPLACE! In the end, you knew it was worth the extra gas and miles.(Un)Fortunately, I discovered this place in one drive. Kohola is tucked behind the ghetto alley of Slubway. You’ll know where to park when you’re confronted by a giant metal barrel with their logo. As I stepped in the brewery, my first thought: Costco. …as if I walked into an(awesome) empty section of the depot – industrial, spacious, airy atmosphere. Minus the towering boxes of food and sample carts. I very much appreciate simplicity especially in the restaurant business. Kohola definitely does not complicate. A humble selection of delicious craft beers written out on a giant chalk board. Swag apparel and glasses also for sale. Gotta represent yo. I ordered two flights which included: Talk Story, Lokahi, Honoa P Lani, Ales Man, Smooth Tide, Mighty ’88, & Red Sand. Faves: Honoa P Lani — Pineapple Lager & the Mighty ’88(IPA) I wasn’t intentionally going to drink two flights because my friend and I were going to have lunch – however, the beertender at the time was a fantastic sales person and handed us an Ono Tacos menu. We can call an order, take a nice long buzzed two minute stroll west, and bring the meal back to the brewery. What can possibly pair better than beer and tacos? One slightly important note, I immediately noticed they had fans blowing, no A/C. I can only fathom how dank it’ll be during the peak of summer. Sip and sweat my brethrens. ***Kama’aina is available, double whammy***

When: Friday May 13, 2016 Wife and I loved this brewery tasting room in Lahaina… Very clean and initimate brewery that really loves their craft… Wife and I visited here about lunch time and the place was empty… They do not serve food here, so its OK to bring in your own food to go along with a pint of beer of course. A very good variety of beer offerings, that should satisfy any beer lovers tastes… If you love craft beer, Kohola Brewery is a must try…

Great spot! We got stuck in a huge traffic jam due to an accident on the way from the airport and needed to stretch our legs. I happened upon this brewery and we stopped in. Essentially in a garage with open doors, this was a really friendly and bright spot. A bunch of high top tables, bar seating and generally a lot of spots to lounge allowed for plenty of room to stretch out. The spot has only been open a few months, but they seem to have their beer groove on. We did a sampler, and each beer was delicious and very fresh. They had some interesting and unique options and even on on nitro. We wished they had it in cans/bottles, but unfortunately they haven’t started canning yet. You can take it to go in a growler, though(which didn’t work for us as we had nowhere to store it). Really helpful and friendly staff — they answered all of our questions and seemed relaxed and happy to chat. Seems to be a mix of tourists but mostly locals visiting, but well worth it. If you can find this beer on tap around the island(or in cans once they’re manufacturing), I’d highly recommend it!

This place was pretty cool. Right when you walk in they have multiple tables set up with games such as jenga and cards, showing they don’t mind if you hang out here for a while. I tried their flight of beers and found that I liked their Hana Road and Red Sand. Both were great.

This little brewery is off the beaten path in Lahaina in a non-touristy area. Walking up, it looks like it might not have a public presence. There are a couple of smaller signs pointing you in the right direction. Keep walking! It is so worth it. All of the beers we tried were great, and it was nice to get away from Front St for a couple of hours. The owner was tending bar. Husband bought a tap handle and the owner gave him his card to have a label shipped for it(it’s still on order). He really made us feel welcome.

Aloha! I definitely felt good energy in their brewpub. They really love to make a good beer. They have nice selection and they answer every question(about beer of course) you give them! I love to see ppl who love what they doing. This place is one of that example! All the best and keep brewing! I would be definitely back! Mahalo for reading this!

Very industrial and good inside seating. Great beers on tap but no food so be aware. They have many good IPAs and a few stouts. The German style beers were something to be desired but the feel was great. They have a food cart there and there is a good place across the street called Local Foods. The place is also across from some other businesses so you will see many«locals» Overall a great vibe and similar to other brewery setups from the mainland(Oregon specifically)

I can not tell you how excited I was to see this place open on the westside! Maui has been severely lacking in the craft beer department. We finally found the time to stop by and give this place a try. Since I am a big IPA fan I started with the«88 Light RyePA» which was exactly what I have been missing since we left CA. Just the right balance of hoppiness, and was very smooth and refreshing. My husband really enjoyed his Ales Man Porter. Being that he is a Master Brewer himself that says a lot. We enjoyed our beers much more than the ones Maui Brewing Company offers up the road. The bar and seating area is open and airy. There are quite a few tables, and even some boards games and things for entertainment. They provide light bar snacks, and if you are hungry for a meal you can walk right across the lot and pick up some tacos or Mexican yummies from Ono Tacos, the food truck on the other side of the breezeway and bring them back to the bar. The bartender was very friendly and we talked story with him for quite sometime. I highly recommend that you give this place a chance. I’m sure it will be changing and evolving as it is still new, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

William here is great. Don’t bother going to Maui brewing company for beer, come to Koholā, it means humpback. This place is not on some main strip, it’s in an industrial building, it’s all about the beer here. If you aren’t in a big group, sit by the bar and just talk to the owner. He will tell you the best places to eat, drink, and maybe some cool places to go as a tourist. The light ryePA is pretty good. There imperial ryePA is even better. My favorite though is the Porter. The space is huge, no food but perhaps you could bring in your own food while enjoying the beer. He has a whole collection of cool beer paraphernalia. I really like his taster tulip glasses.

Just opened December 2015 and my first visit is a week after opening, so I see the potential and take that into consideration with the review. At this time there is no food options, but they plan on arranging food trucks in the future and possibly TVs, but for now it’s just beer, and friendly staff. There are 6 beers, a flight of 4 is $ 7 or $ 2 a 4oz sample. It’s good beer and if you are a beer enthusiast it’s definitely worth trying. It’s tucked away and it feels like you’re walking into a warehouse, but yes you are in the right place!
