This is a bustling, man-made, small boat harbor located just off of Front Street near the infamous banyan tree. The slips are filled with private and tour company boats, with a few moorings off shore. Along with the harbor office that handles mooring & slip payments, there is a boat ramp and fueling station but I’m not positive if it’s open to the public. Parking here is minimal and timed, so park elsewhere. Lahaina used to be a huge whaling port, so do check out some of the artifacts left behind, like a cannon that stands just before the pier under the grove of trees. Nothing impressive but pretty cool to see and imagine what it was like back in the day. TIP: The area is surrounded by tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping, so there is lots to do before and after your excursions. Sunsets are awesome from here.

We really enjoyed the Harbor area. We came in on a cruise ship and had a very warm welcome. There was a lot of other activity the day we were there. The docks have boats to take you parasailing, snorkeling, fishing, whale watching or cruising. The welcome center is directly across the street and they have a wealth of information. Behind the center is a small park with a gigantic Banyan Tree. It is something that you should see. Hilo Hattie also has a van that stops here to take you to their store. There is also a nice stone wall, in the shade much of the day, where you can sit, rest and just people watch.

This harbor serves as the jumping off point for most of the fishing excursions, whale watching trips, snorkel tours, submarine boat rides and the ferry to Lanai and Molokai. It’s really not a very big but is the only harbor in Lahaina. It’s actually convenient located next to the popular Banyan Tree and Front Street, if you’re out walking around it’s worth stopping by. We stumbled across a guy cleaning his Marlin or Swordfish I’m not quite sure which one, neat to see if you don’t get a chance to go fishing. Not a lot else to say, there is a bathroom facility and limited parking. If you have a handicap plaque there is some reserved spots up near the water, other words park anywhere and walk as it is usually really crowded in this part of town.

The Harbor is in front of the Banyan Tree. Lots of activities there. We took the ferry over to Lana’i on the Expeditions boat. When the cruise ships are not there, there is a 5 minute loading/unloading parking spot which is convenient to drop off folks and luggage. But if the cruise ship is in town, that part is blocked off so you will have to drop off further away and walk.

Beautiful, relaxing and most likely a necessity for those taking a water-related excursion in Lahaina(parasailing, snorkeling, charters, sport fishing, etc). Clean bathrooms, much food, shopping and things to do near the harbor. You can park for 3 hours on Wharf Street or free for longer a few blocks away on Dickenson.
