Not impressed. The show was too short. The food was bland. Place was too crowded. Fairly certain the pig they took out the pit was not the one they had served. Been to better luau.

First i have not been to any luau before and since i missed out my chance to do a luau in Kauai, that was my biggest regret for not attending one while i was there. Since i am a newbie and first time attending Hawaii i didn’t know better, but i figured everything out when i got there. Anyways i had a high expectation that luau is going to be amazing from all the flyers throughout the island which makes it seem so amazing. I came to this luau with high expectations. Pro –i got good laughs throughout the show. –The show was entertaining. Lots of cultural dances but there is a story behind to each dance with a theme. –2 dances with talented kids showing off their dance moves. –There is an amazing short 2 versions of fire dance at the very end. –Food which is a buffet –Drinks which there was all you can drink mai tais and fruit punch, coffee, tea, and water. Food Rating 3 out of 5 The food was ok, not bad or good, but in my opinion it wasn’t that great. It was in a buffet format where you can get endless plates. Salads They start you off with some salad which was a mixed green with slices of tomatoes. Fruits Then there is the fruit platter with fresh papaya, melons, and once you sit down at the table they bring a fancy cut out pineapples for the table to share. Next they had some tomato salsa, pickled cucumbers next to the fruit platters. Filler Food Fried rice — The rice reminds of sticky rice, the rice was a great combo with the main entrees. Chow mein or saimin — this was flavorless, but the presentation was great with edamame, onions and carrots i think. I prefer the fried rice over this noodles. Main entrée Fish, shredded pork, braised beef ribs, teriyaki chicken, and steamed mixed veggies which had purple potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. Then it came to the main entrees which consisted of shredded pork which was on the bland side, maui fish which was over cooked and dry if you didn’t get much of the sauce on it, braised beef ribs which was kind of dry but the sauce was good. They had some teriyaki chicken as well which was one of the best meats they had. Kids section They had mac and cheese — This dish was awful and barely any cheese taste and you can taste the powder texture, which was not my kind of mac and cheese i had before. Chicken tenders — this i didn’t even bother because my plate was filled with other proteins lol. Teriyaki chicken — i did try one piece and it was on point. Steam green beans and carrots — this i got refilled on because veggies was my favorites form both adult and children food selections. Overall the food was bleh nothing special like wow. It was just an ok. Not really worth the $ 105 which i divide in half with the show so i treat it as $ 50 for the meal. The quality of the food isn’t there to me. Show 4 out 5 They had 2 kids to kick off the show with some dances. Then the adults came into the show and did there theme dances with a story behind it. Then they had 2 times with pulling audience into the dance which was very entertaining. Then they had 2 fire dances towards the end. Then after 2 more theme dances the show ended. From food to show, we got in at 5pm then 5:45pm we got to eat some food. Then show started around 6:15pm and ended at 7:30pm. Overall the show was great, but i felt like they could have made it a bit longer with some more fire dances and that would have been cool. I felt like i didn’t get enough of the more exciting and intense dances. I do like the theme and store behind each dance which had a meaning to it. The dancers were friendly and had great smiles throughout the dance. Price/insight The original price is $ 105, but if you are with the diamond resort you can get a discount. I am glad we were able to get a discount and we didn’t have to pay the full price. I felt like it was overpriced, but great for first timers, or i recommend old lahaina. The reason why i came here is because we would need to book ahead of time for old lahaina, but since our stay is short we only had this option here. in a way they have lots of staff to pay so it makes sense too. I felt like this is too touristy vibe for me, i didn’t feel the authentic vibe here, maybe because of the location or the setup. This is like a one time thing for me and i much rather prefer to spend my money on few other meals at a local restaurant. On the bright side i know what is a luau and i have experienced it, so i can talk about what i did. Thanks for reading and have a Unilocaltastic day!

I was very dissapointed with the buffet. The food was not anything special. The show was just okay. For a $ 100 plus, you expect the food will be at least decent taste. The liquor drinks are horrible and water down. You only get a choice of sodas or 2 others liquor drinks. Don’t expect it from the bartender. An amateur just mixed this at the table and hand them out. I don’t recommend this Laua to anyone.

Entertaining the overpriced. Good food. Youthful, very youthful, adolescents actors. Didn’t start till 6, and spent an hour roaming around a craft fair to buy leis, shells, etc. kids would like the show but adults can do better.

Excellent show well paced and a great time had by our party of 3 adults and 2 kids(5 years old). The buffet was also very good, good selection of food and plenty, this was an all you wanted buffet and the food was kept hot u throughout the meal time. Our server was good and kept the drinks coming. The show host explained the dances and their meanings, kept the show moving. The performers were all excellent and the fire dancers were the best we have seen. Well worth the money great night of food, drinks and entertainment.

The food is secondary to the show which was much better than expected. Buffet was passable. Service okay. I wouldn’t go here for dinner without having a desire to see the show which was worth the price

How come there aren’t more reviews? This place is AMAZING! What an exciting and memorable show. Every single host/hostess were the nicest and most sincere people I have ever encountered, customer-wise! They made sure all our needs were met and did I mention they all had a sense of humor?! Gosh, I was so impressed, I came straight to the hotel to write this review. THEFOODANDDRINKS?! Oh man… they were delicious! I know it sounds like I work for them or was paid but nope… I am just a VERY satisfied tourist. This is my 2nd lu’au. We went to the famed PCC one in Oahu and this one puts that one to shame. Mahalo, guys! Keep up the wonderful work!

What an amazing evening of Delicious food and drinks! The luau tells a story about the Kaanapali, and was beautiful in dance and songs. Great service, wonderful cultural environment, and it’s at the most HAWAIIANRESORTINHAWAII! Unique and this luau stands out from the rest. The food is Outstanding!
