Some nice places to eat and shop, many touristy shops, but some specialty places like a European poster shop and many art galleries. Only major downside to this place is it seems overrun with homeless. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem when homeless mind their own business or even panhandle, but these guys are bad I saw a homeless man follow a tourist and physicaly assult this 60 year old man, nobody working in nearby shops, including the one the tourist hoped to take refuge in, seemed to care or notice. Another homeless man and woman were openly smoking marijuana. To top it off in the 3 times I’ve visited this area, I have seen 0 police, not one in such a tourist filled area with high end shops, seems odd. But don’t let that bother you definitely check out these shops, but maybe leave by sunset.

Surprised this locale only got 2 reviews but I guess since it is not really a «Touristy» spot nobody really pays it much attention. However it is a very good spot to purchase items dedicated to Maui’s culture. You can park there free for two hours with validation… I got mine because I went to the place there that sells Hawaiian Shirts. Now there are nicer places to shop because this one has a lot of open spaces because business has been tough in Maui… however it is worth a look at least. Eat, Drink, and be Merry my Friends!!!

We cruised through the Old Lahaina Center and parked there the several times we went down to Front St. for shopping and dining. I really wanted to visit the Foodland since I heard there’s some good prepared food there but didn’t get the chance to. We parked in a nearby lot for $ 4 for the evening.

4th day in Maui — Monday, 9÷14÷08 This is a great place to go shopping and walk around Front Street. We parked by the Old Lahaina Center and were able to park there free for two hours w/a validation at ABC. We bought a few of our souveniers here from the surf shops(ie. Local Motion, Hurley, etc.) and were able to take some wacky pictures at the Banyan Tree Park
